That means I explained it in a way for EXPERIENCED Photoshop users to follow along. Because I've got to appeal to beginners, semi-experience, and experienced users. If all of my tutorials baby the viewer, it's gonna bore the more experienced users. If you're soo upset with the lack of explanation in this, go watch a beginner tut.

how do you load up the rgb channel as a selection ?

@PixieKackt Ctrl+click the RGB Channel's thumbnail. Unless you're on a Mac, in which case you'd Cmd+click the thumbnail. Hope that helps! =)
