Just to comment: Be aware if the theater is requesting plays with "minimal requirements." In this case, the inclusion of music or video might actually HURT your chances, as it will cost the producing theater more money than they might be prepared to spend. Keep an eye out for that.

I like it that the playwright is thinking about gimmicks, tricks, marketing, having fun, bringing in the audience and connecting with reading committees. More playwrights need to think this way.

We NEED media hooks, special effects and joy. Heck, if you can't think of anything else, throw in some nudity--he says. I agree.
