What I've learned: When you try to trap someone, you should not fall in love in your victim, because otherwise ancient greek space gods destroy entire race to extinction.
What have also learned: When a girl is your enemy, who *has* to kill you, because everyone she knows are threatend to death, will fall in love with you when look in her eyes and she will change her mind...
Though in this series the whole "Gotta get home an save wife" plot from the beginning seems to have been promptly forgotten afterwards. Im not sure they even mentioned it again in the series? hmmm...
The Ladies can't resist Ulysses, and Ulysses being on his own with just the children in that spaceship all the time means he must get pretty... frustrated.
Ulysees has to put up with heart break ontop of fighting Giant Monsters.
But as Rocky sais in Rocky 6
"Nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, but it ain't about how hard u hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. Thats how Winning is done."
was interesting this. Cos i think in the original story, Ulysees left his kingdom, but its not made explicit why. Some say it was because of a war, and others say that he left because he was disatisfied with his Penelope. So this was interesting.
yeah, the whole Ulysses 31 story is based on the oddessey by Homer and so the calypso story is part of it. Apart from Circe (who bore his other son) Calypso was another one of the women he loved. But it's ambiguous whether he was a captive or whether he stayed of his own free will.
And speaking of her hair, why didn't she just do that funky zap-them-with-the-hair thing right from the start? I mean she took out three with one shot.
And where did the other two go after she gets killed?
Probably not, but only when it suits their purposes.
In the oddessey Calypso was defying the gods by keeping Ulysses safe and sound on her island. She did this for ten years!
Eventually the gods decreed that Ulysses needed to be let go as Penelope was suffering hassle from her suitors etc so they told Calypso to release Ulysses.
Taste the rainbow Ulysses!

Totally tragic...Try as he may, Ulysses simply cannot save everyone...

Ulysses seems to forget that he has a wife already in many of these episodes...
Sunrisemo0n 1 year ago
@Sunrisemo0n That's because Odysseus often forgot he had a wife, Circe? He was banging her for about a year.

@Bunjithewolf Only because Circe made him forget.

This episode is below par. It's more of a watered-down version of Circe episode.

You'll have to blame the Ancient Greeks for the similarity I'm afraid.
It seems even then, Ulysses was a regular James Bond with any of the chicks he ran into.

what a dark cartoon, they dont make em like this anymore.
IamHLO 3 years ago 7
@IamHLO Same with shows like Galaxy Express, etc. Todays kids can't handle emotions so they get shows that sedate them rather than engage them.

How could Ulysses let a chick like that slip through his fingers?
Oh yeah ... he just opened his hand.
Sorry. I just couldn't resist that one.
But man that chick was 'fine'.
Sorry, I'll stop now.
IRONMANAustralia 3 years ago 2
the hair doesn't do it for me though
rcfp2006 3 years ago
No, I mean 'fine' as in fine grains of ...
... oh nevermind.
And speaking of her hair, why didn't she just do that funky zap-them-with-the-hair thing right from the start? I mean she took out three with one shot.

IRONMANAustralia 3 years ago
oh... you could make a comment about "silica" breast implants as well, but I don't think a lot of people would get that
rcfp2006 3 years ago
That remark is classic though. Seriously, though, are the Olympian deities so arrogant that they cannot understand that other beings think and feel?
Is the concept of pity and mercy alien to them?
