It didn't really get bad ratings, just not brilliant ones. Also, it was a very small release from a small developer, so didn't get the publicity it deserved. Some reviewers found the game too slow and strategic for them too, but then 99% of the gaming press are FPS-obsessed cocktwats, so it's to be expected.

Well, in Star Trek Armada II you can form a 5 ship point super laser with the Species 8472 battleships and blow up ships and planets with it, just not nearly in as spectacular of graphics. Nexus really did get thrown to the dogs, such a worthy and well designed game thrown aside. There were only a couple flaws with it, but I'm sure patches could have fixed that. It deserves more than it got.

I would have to agree with you. How do you like the mod? Somebody needs to tell the head honchos for Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, and Stargate that there's a game engine just perfect for their universes!
