  • Hello Kyle, was when a video of a Porsche 968, it would fantastique.Merci and the pleasure of watching

  • Seats look so comfy

  • Those seafs

  • I have a 2000 911 C2 and a 1984 944. Both great cars but, truth be told, the 944 handles much better. Low center of gravity and near perfect weight distribution. Not nearly as fast as the 911 (174 mph v. 143 mph) but the 944 absolutely eats up corners. As between the two, the 944 is the better bang for the buck (911 is typically five times more expensive). Porsche, there is no substitute.

  • your turbo Bar gauge is faulty

  • Cool! Im getting a 924!

  • Another thing that I've noticed at 1:06 is that the key ignition for the 944 is on the right, unlike other Porsches have them on the left side, such as the 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Panamera and Carrera GT.

  • I've seen so many of these Porsches on the road, they're the most beautiful cars I've ever seen.

  • How much is the 944 sir. I'm looking at 944s but would like a Turbo if the price is right .

  • the transmission on the 1982-1991 Porsche 944

    Transmission

    3-speed automatic

    5-speed manual

  • nice car, nice land rover discovery too, now give it back

  • my father haved this before 20 years now he have an mercedes e290 :SS

  • what a dumb spot to put the hand brake

  • What is it with these old jaguars and porsches that have their gauges get messed up...

  • your oil pressure sender is broken on not connected propely...

  • beautiful condition, would love to buy it if it was close to where i live

  • is it meant to sound like that. it sounds a little weird to me.

  • I think your oilpressure relief valve is stuck, its the common cause for extremely high oilpressure

  • OIL PRESSURE???

  • Oil pressure meter is a HUGE concern.

  • Porsche brake calipers. I would've never guessed.

  • fart cannon!!!

  • i want it but i live in houston tx.

  • Door handles are straight from VW Beetle (old model)..... and they are crappy as hell! I owned Golf Mk.II with same handles ,and junkies would oppen it with toothpick...

  • My friend has one of these that he got when he was 14. Except it's not the turbo model but it's still pretty cool to have a porsche when you're 16

  • I was born at 9:44PM (actually on this day 16 years ago). The first words out of my Dad's mouth was "Hey, Porsche!"

  • @EricScottMedia

    YOU ARE BLESSED, MY SON.

  • did anyone notice that faulty temperature gauge?

  • No offense but I can clearly hear an exhaust leak.... Love the 951 though!!

  • your oil pressure is sky high!

  • What's the beeping?! In Holland the 944 don't beep when you start them! Anyway, a nice car but please don't buy the Turbo unless you pockets are very, very deep!

Buy a 944 3.0 L fourcilinder instead...Also lots of fun, but less chance of high cost because of a worn-out turbo-compressor!

And be careful with that rear (glass) door! Use TWO hands to shut it!!

  • 1. you have 0 videos of Cayman/Boxsters :o

    2. Unique door handle...

    3. What does that button do on the key?

  • @jwatwater ive requisted the boxter but he still wont do it :(

  • @jwatwater It's for a light when you open the door at night :)

  • @Coolbri1191

... oonly Porsche would think of that. Lol

  • @jwatwater

    1. Okay...

    2. Those door handles are on all 944s and were changed when the 968 was introduced. They are actually very similar to the old VW beetle handles if you are familiar to those.

    3. The button lights up a small bulb in the key head to help light the keyhole at night. Power locks are not common on these cars until the late 80s/early 90s.

On a side note, that steering wheel is aftermarket and looks like crap. The stock wheel was all leather and much cleaner looking.

  • @derbydog07

    Thanks!

  • @jwatwater 3. its a light botton that lights mini bulb at the end of keyholder. use it to light up keyhole to not miss it in dark.

  • @midgetmayo its cause he pressed the gas pedal to rev it

  • very good review

  • Brings back so many good and bad memories. My first car was a Guards Red 88' 944 n/a. That one caught on fire while I was driving it and was totaled. Got a 86 Alpine White 944 Turbo (951) in 2001 took it to college and then sold it in 2007. It was expensive to maintain and there were lots of electrical grimlins but I still miss it.

  • that's probably the best 4-banger engine, along with the Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3-16 cosworths.

  • Cute! I liked it! Selling?

  • Excelent video! Thanks alot!!!

  • When you started it at 1:17 what made the tach jump like that? My dad's Saturn does that from time to time..

  • very nice car, she's beautiful véhicule ;)

  • Getting This Car On February :)

  • I was supposed to buy that car two months ago... It ended up missing out on it. Owner of the dealer said it had been repainted and had an exhaust leak. Seems this is pre-exhaust fixing. My 944T never sounded like that.

  • is it me or does the front remind me a little bit of a Nissan 240sx?

  • @AndyRoddick969 on golf mk1 :D

  • @AndyRoddick969 True, but this car came first.

  • @AndyRoddick969 nah more like the rx-7 2nd gen....I got this also its 1987 944 non turbo....nice project car.

  • looks like its in pretty good shape... not sure if thats the original paint though

  • @zestydude87 It's not.

  • **951

  • Hey, it's Jake Ryan's car from Sixteen Candles! Only he had an '84.

  • test drive =)

  • This is one of my favorite Porsches

  • the keyhole is for the factory alarm

  • You should have bought this instead of your cadillac.

  • @ermir6 he diesnt have a cadillac?

  • Screw the turbos, the N/A 1.8 I4s sounded MUCH better.

  • @DK99824 There has never been any 944s with a 1.8 liter engine. The smallest engines were the 2.5 liters in the first N/A models and the S and the turbo. The later N/A were 2.7 liter and the S2 was 3 liter.

  • what is the keyhole next to the drivers door for?

  • @andreasbayer I think it might be for the gas cap release?

  • @andreasbayer The keyhole next to the drivers door is for the Stock Porsche Alarm

  • *sigh* if only:(

  • A car magazine once claimed this was one of the best handling cars in the world. Very nice, and the turbo model probably very rare!

  • @JekHawkins in the US, the turbos are rare but not very rare. although you're most likely to see them in the warmer side of the US than the ones that get snow unless it's summer.

  • i just couldn't understand why there was a second lock on the driver side door :D

  • @minsc92 alarm system

  • LOL i have actually the same but a -84 :D

  • How much is this car?

  • very nice classic porsche kyle.

  • My friend and his dad have about 5 of these in bad shape (they bought them that way) and they fix them and plan on selling them. I've taken a ride in a few and they really are incredible, even though they are half restored.

  • Always the one hater......

  • man, i'd love to be the proud owner of one of these

  • I LOVE THESE CARS! Thanks so much Kyle!

  • God damn this is beautiful.

  • oh man, i think that's the turning point for me. i'm definitely a bigger fan of imoprts, but that is just fucking creamy. right amount of creature comforts, great aesthetics, awesome suspension tech, not a boat, fantastic engine... dayum.

  • 928>944

  • you already made the review of this car!

  • Nice car overall. The gauges looked like they didn't know what to say!

  • did you get a spray tan?

  • Is it just me? I always mute this guys videos except when he revs the engine. His commentary is awful but nobody else does these kind of car tours.

As far as 944's go this one is in really good shape, sounds heavenly. I'm used to having to open any VW Co. car like this with a pliers because those little handles break off.

  • 2:31 more handsome than my History teacher... ugh

  • @flypunk90 LOLOLOL!

  • That's what she said at 1:44

  • @jwatsonatunc LOL nice and tight

  • poor mans porche

  • I think the car has some electrical problem...

  • @Mokanin88 i agree

  • should do 0-60 in 5.5ish. same difference i guess :P

  • sounds a bit like my old 80's slaab turbo with the blowing exhaust. Saab had a cooler burble though...

  • Man, that thing is in such good shape for an '86! SWEET!

  • Do the review of that silver GMC in the back ;)

  • noooooooooooooooooooooooooo its nine four four not nine fourty four

  • This is such a wonderful car glad you did this one !

  • can u review some new cars ?

  • Sounds like a small truck.

  • 1998 accord coupe review

  • Too bad they cost a ridiculous amount of money to fix. Otherwise I'd like to own one.

  • 6:18 BOSTON - (music almost matches the model year)

7:08 the outside mirror is just a tad too big

8:20 WHY DOESN'T EVERY CAR TODAY HAVE THIS?

  • My dad almost bought one of those back around '85

  • wow that's a small clock

  • @Jon3800 That's a bit personal, don't you think? ;-)

  • Nice ride Kyle! Going 0-60 in 6 seconds may not seem like a big deal now, but back in 86 that was pretty fast!

  • kids with they're honda civics could only wish they could sound this good.

  • @StuinthaHouse Oh the intricacies of basic English, which is so hard to master! Whoever they are, still theirs is not ours.

  • @wotan20 Thanks for noticing that! Sorry if I offended.

  • @StuinthaHouse No, no offence whatsoever. Indeed that you replied my criticism so politely, is an awesome surprise to me, and as such it reflects back on your character quite positively.

  • @wotan20 I try to take criticism as ideas on how to better myself.

Judging by your comments, you must be a person of integrity and for that I applaud you. There are so many people on the net that have none.

  • @cyberboy855 The 944 was never ment to be a Volkswagen, that was the earlier 924 that Porsche made.

  • Please do a 911 Carrera from these years...

  • @CEOkiller

I´m pretty sure he has at least one video of a current Porsche 911 Carrera. Just look on his account page

  • i think the ignition is on the "wrong" side because this was supposed to be a Volkswagen originally.

  • @cyberboy855 no its inspired by porsches racing roots

  • @polskaRed i meant the wrong side for porsches. i know why porsches have the ignition on the left of the wheel, but this one has it on the right because it was originally supposed to be a VOLKSWAGEN.

  • @cyberboy855 no that was the 924, the 944's body was modified a bit, and a proper porsche designed 2.5 I4, the 924 was the vw van engine, the 944 was also reincarnated as the 968 with a re done rear end and a a 3.0 twin turbo, so yeah, ur wrong, but no disrespect

  • very nice car.

  • Jeremy Clarkson put a rocket launcher on one of these!

  • OMG you read my mind... every time i want so see a car on this channel, bam, there it is

  • no left side ignition?!?!?! and i love how the turbo sign on the back and the seats are the same design as the 2011s

  • i thought all porsche had the ignition on the left side?

  • I love how Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen share similar features. For example my '90 VW Polo has very similar door handles (mine are actually nicer), interior light and tiny vanity mirror in the sun visor as this 944!

  • you should test polish roads!

  • could you do a Mitsubishi galant

  • one of my neighbours used to own one of these in the '90s and man, i was drooling with my buddies every time we saw him drive this.

  • that is a nice porsche 944 turbo i like those styles how much are they asking for it.

  • @R8RFanSam probably 12-15 k depending on the dealer/condintion.

  • why does it have an audi door chime?

  • Can you do an in depth tour of the MG Mark 2 MGB Convertible?

  • Cool, you took my request!

  • We never get cool cars over here.

  • it's a pretty cool car actually, just not very porsche like

  • @ilovecars1996 try driving it in winding roads, then you'll know it's a porsche.

  • A true Porsche has the engine in the rear

  • nice video Kyle

  • why is the voice at the end recorded and put onto the video?

  • Hey you should do a Conquest

  • ooooh so simple back than to see, liked the 934 and 944

  • Does the roof open all the way or just vent?? Very nice car!!!

  • what is that other lock next to driver door for?

  • the 1982-1991 Porsche 944 was assembled in

    Neckarsulm, Germany

  • the previous owner jizzed on the shifter

  • hey saabkyle04 can u tell me what that other key whole on the drives side of the car is for?

  • Very good video.

I just love these Porsches aswell as 924 and 928!

  • Love the video Kyle!! Thanks a bunch!! I love these old Porsche's! Please keep more like this coming!! :) Or perhaps even something more from our Swedish friends?? I've seen all the Volvo's and Saab videos you have and would love some more, if it's not too much to ask :P Keep em' coming!! :)

  • bong bong bong

  • love the pop up headlights.i miss those days

  • all city has the best cars great review of a classic.

  • god i love the engines on these things

  • 3:50 "217 horsepower [...] 0-60 in ~6 seconds [...] top speed of 153 MPH."

Then this car can be smoked by a V6 Camry (except in terms of top speed, since the Camry is governed to 145 MPH).

  • @hitssquad - Yeah, but think about it in context of the time.. A brand new Camry may "smoke" it, but at the time that was a fantastic piece of engineering. Lets also not forget that the 944's (even the turbos) were much cheaper than the equivalent 911's and the top spec 944's boasted similar performance, not to mention better handling.. So in context of the time, the 944 is a great car, regardless of how it goes against a much newer Camry, which will never be as exciting or rewarding as a 944!!!

  • @hitssquad this is not a car for the drag strip.. try racing your camry with this on a proper race track with actual turns.

  • @mo28mabini "try racing your camry with this on a proper race track with actual turns."

The Camry might beat it, but even if it didn't, for even less money a V6 Mustang might -- depending on the track: caranddriver. com/reviews/car/10q1/ 2011_ford_mustang_v6-short_take_road_test

    "Braking, 70–0 mph: 152 ft

    Roadholding, 200-ft-dia skidpad: 0.95 g"

    .

R&T says: "slalom and skidpad [...] Porsche 944 60.9/0.818". I say "depending on the track" because the V6 Mustang is governed to only 113 MPH.

  • @mo28mabini roadandtrack. com/tests/comparison/chevrolet-camaro-v-6-vs.-ford-mustang-v-6

    "Speed thru 700-ft slalom [...] 69.2 mph"

  • @hitssquad to each their own. Seems like you like to base your arguments solely on numbers. Stock numbers like HP are not guaranteed to be the same throughout the cars lifespan. Engine and other parts wear out so it's kind of unfair to compare it to newer cars. Obviously, something is always going to be better. There are also countless other factors to put into consideration. I personally like to drive cars regardless of the specs. So whatever car you have, enjoy it.

  • My dream car is a 1993 mustang gt v8. Please don't talk about mustangs unless they are v8! I love it I'm a muscle freak, but I got the 944 nonturbo as my first car for a ridiculous deal its not four cyl, its a straight 6, but it has potential, engine is fine needs work though (body, paint, interior, music) that's about it, car runs great but, I plan to keep it & put a turbo in there & keeping it the family. There's just something about this car I love and want my future son to have!

  • @DrasticNY You should get a 1992 Mustang instead of a 93 because the 92's get 20 more HP. But it would be cool either way; that's my dream car too and i'm hopefuly getting one for christmas :)

  • Damn, someday I will buy either a 944 turbo or a 928.

  • droooool

  • ....and the rims could be more nicer. The Porsche for poor folks.

  • @AndreyPurtov suck it

  • wow ! the door's outside handles are just like on VAZ 2108 "Lada" ! :))

  • Maybe I missed it in the video, or I'm just really stupid, but what does that other keyhole do next to the driver's door?

  • @seanya9989 alarm system

  • Great find. All equipement works and car looks great 25 years after production.

    Good work.
