About 30 years ago, this Barroso character was a little maoist hooligan, destroying property in the University of Lisbon and elsewhere, during the post-revolutionary period here in Portugal. @tigerfedor1 Why do we have to keep up with superpowers? Those of us who want independence from the EU aren't all empire-nostalgic reactionaries. We want to live in under a system of government which is democratic and repsonsive to its citizens. To us that means independent nation states cooperating on inter-nation issues, but not supra-national structures of governance.
