@AlexQ9319 How are the pickups? I have an Ibanez RG7321, and the pickups on it are TOOOOOOO muddy sounding. How do the pickups on this sound? It sounds pretty good on this video, but how do they sound for real? Are they active pickups?

@JamesOface Second position is neck pickup in parallel, which gives a single coil sound, and fourth position is the two inner coils. Have a look on the Ibanez site for a diagram.

500 quid for a Damien, I need to be below 400, haha. And the only Schecter I've ever played was my friend's Syn Custom and I thought the neck was absolutely horrible.
@MrWiggerdale123 why dont you just go into a musicshop and try the guitars? and i have read that the damien elite's are nearly as good as the blackjacks
I don't know of any shops in my area that sell extended range guitars, I know one that does sell Schecter's and Ibanez's so I was planning on going down there sometime next week to have a play around, but I think to try out a 7 I'd have to order one in.
@MrWiggerdale123 that sucks, in my area, there are like 5 musicshops and i have been in all of them and also in others in my country (also veryvery big ones) looking for 7 strings (mainly schecter and ibanez) but noone of them had a single schecter 7 string. Someone told me that schecter is not that famous yet so the shops rather sell ESPs or Epiphone than schecters.
Hahaha, that's also very unlucky and in my area there are 5 fairly big music shops, but 4 of them are very oldschool :( they favour Epiphone Flying V's and original Strat's and Tele's, which I'm definitely not interested in.
Hmm, I might give that a try :) I'm quite interested in the Cort EVL K47B, but I'm not sure they're sold in the UK, so the VAT added during import might make it expensive, which is a shame cos it's a good looking guitar. If not that I'd be interested in the RG7321, but I wish they made it in a baritone length, I don't understand why they don't have that option?
Wowww, the 2127Z is more than a bit too expensive, haha, I do actually have enough money for it though, but I don't want to spend all that money. I could maybe buy the 7320Z but I think my dad wouldn't allow me, although I have the money and it's mine I may have to spend quite a lot of money over the next year on other things, that is a seriously nice guitar though.
If I could, I'd buy an Agile, but Import Tax and VAT pushes up the price soo much :( it's stupid.

An agile would be awesome, i dont know if this works for guitars but ive read that some people let shops import stuff (mostly bare knuckle pickups) to avoid shipping and stuff but i dont know if this wokrs wih guitars
A Musicman would be a solid long term investment though :D haha and I might try that, even if I then did have to pay shipping, if it got lost/damaged or never arrived I wouldn't be to blame :)

Sounds like your friend was hella lucky :O and there's a place near me that sells quite a few Schecter's, but the only 7 is the Omen, which I really, strongly don't want, haha. It just looks like such a piece of shit (neck, hardware too, not just looks), saying that, the extreme version looks alright.
@MrWiggerdale123 yes he was :D I cant really tell, the only schecter 7 string i have ever seen in a shop (which was 400kms away from my home) was the damien 7 FR, it felt pretty cool but the bolt on neck design isnt really my favorite so i keep searching :D
That's crazy, haha and I was interested by the Damien's for quite a long time and from seeing peoples NGD pictures on sevenstring I have to say the neck join looked pretty huuuge. I'd love one of the Agile's with the thru-necks *drool* but it's out of my range.

That's seriously cheap! And in my band the lead guitarist has a Syn custom and an Ibanez S-series and I think he's gunna sell the Syn to get a 7-string (probably an Agile) and then the rhythm guitarist would like an Agile 7 but he has no money and nothing to sell to get the money for it, haha, he currently has an Encore LP, not so lucky for him.

Haha, I don't know if he's the kind of guy for prostitution D: and it's because Agile's look sick! And they're such good value for what you get, though that becomes a bit less relevant when you ship to the UK :( And we have 2, I used to be lead but I got kinda bored, so I did vocals instead. But now we're gunna all get 7's and move back to 3 guitars, I'll do lead, then two rhythm with one crossing over into lead, it's gunna be trickyy.

Agile's are sold only on Rondomusic's website and they're made in China, though some have USA made EMG pick-ups :O haha and we write our own stuff, it's okayyyish (there's a vid on my channel... An awkward vid, haha) but we intend to practice loads over the coming months and become a tech-djent band, you have a band?

Haha, yhh man, thanks :D what I've learnt is that most of the scream/growl tutorials on youtube are useless, hahaha. And do you have guitar pro? Cos what I've been doing is writing parts on my guitar then just writing them in guitar pro in Drop G# for a 7-string :) for now what you could do is when he plays a riff, you play that riff an octave higher on your 4th and 5th strings and even when you do get a 7 string, I'd say keep doing that, it makes the riff sound fuller :)

I remember I found a really good tutorial, it was the only one that actually worked/made sense, haha. You know how they always say "from the diaphragm" that's true, but confusing, haha, you need your diaphragm for singing properly anyway and what does your friend write?
@MrWiggerdale123 so you didnt take any real lessons right? he writes mixes of periphery, nociceptor (dunno if i spell it right) and born of osiris with some really complex rhythms and pretty fast picking. He is way better than i am. thats why he is my guitar techer :D you can check out his channel if you want he did covers of periphery, veil of maya, dream theater and bron of osiris
For vocals? No. For guitar? I have them for classical guitar, that's how I originally started, but electric is self-taught over this past year or so :) And what's his channel? He must be seriously good to teach guitar to the level that you're playing at.

I just checked your covers, haha, your sweeping is really tight, impressive pinky finger too. And I suck at rhythm, haha, I spend a lot of time playing through scales really.

I mean, it's very fast, haha, not all that many players are that strong with their pinky :) and tbh, if you want to play metal, all you really need to know are the harmonic minor, melodic minor and phygrian mode scales, that seems to be the way of modern metal, haha.
Haha, once you know one position you can work out the others from there :) and who doesn't know the minor pentatonic, haha, I always try to avoid pentatonics cos they're used so heavily used in solos, it's kinda simple, but sometimes it's hard to avoid using them cos they always seem to fit.

@AlexQ9319 lol well i like schecter because 90% of their 7 strings have a longer scale then just 25.5 inches, but i took a look at this thing and noticed "oh shit they actually realized that 25.5 sounds like mud on their 7 strings and made a longer one!" well atleast any i'v played with that scale were muddy (especially that rga7) but damn man you are lucky to have that thing! sounds like it drop tunes as good as any baritone 7 string!

@MrWiggerdale123 yes he was :D I cant really tell, the only schecter 7 string i have ever seen in a shop (which was 400kms away from my home) was the damien 7 FR, it felt pretty cool but the bolt on neck design isnt really my favorite so i keep searching :D

That's crazy, haha and I was interested by the Damien's for quite a long time and from seeing peoples NGD pictures on sevenstring I have to say the neck join looked pretty huuuge. I'd love one of the Agile's with the thru-necks *drool* but it's out of my range.

@MrWiggerdale123 yeah, it wasnt that comfortable, the agiles are sexy, a friedn of mine is buying a used schecter avenger 7 for 300€ (pretty cheap for an instrument that isnt produced anymore imo) on saturday and later this year he's buying an agile 7 string... im so friggin jealous :D

That's seriously cheap! And in my band the lead guitarist has a Syn custom and an Ibanez S-series and I think he's gunna sell the Syn to get a 7-string (probably an Agile) and then the rhythm guitarist would like an Agile 7 but he has no money and nothing to sell to get the money for it, haha, he currently has an Encore LP, not so lucky for him.

Haha, I don't know if he's the kind of guy for prostitution D: and it's because Agile's look sick! And they're such good value for what you get, though that becomes a bit less relevant when you ship to the UK :( And we have 2, I used to be lead but I got kinda bored, so I did vocals instead. But now we're gunna all get 7's and move back to 3 guitars, I'll do lead, then two rhythm with one crossing over into lead, it's gunna be trickyy.

Agile's are sold only on Rondomusic's website and they're made in China, though some have USA made EMG pick-ups :O haha and we write our own stuff, it's okayyyish (there's a vid on my channel... An awkward vid, haha) but we intend to practice loads over the coming months and become a tech-djent band, you have a band?

Haha, yhh man, thanks :D what I've learnt is that most of the scream/growl tutorials on youtube are useless, hahaha. And do you have guitar pro? Cos what I've been doing is writing parts on my guitar then just writing them in guitar pro in Drop G# for a 7-string :) for now what you could do is when he plays a riff, you play that riff an octave higher on your 4th and 5th strings and even when you do get a 7 string, I'd say keep doing that, it makes the riff sound fuller :)

I remember I found a really good tutorial, it was the only one that actually worked/made sense, haha. You know how they always say "from the diaphragm" that's true, but confusing, haha, you need your diaphragm for singing properly anyway and what does your friend write?

@MrWiggerdale123 so you didnt take any real lessons right? he writes mixes of periphery, nociceptor (dunno if i spell it right) and born of osiris with some really complex rhythms and pretty fast picking. He is way better than i am. thats why he is my guitar techer :D you can check out his channel if you want he did covers of periphery, veil of maya, dream theater and bron of osiris

For vocals? No. For guitar? I have them for classical guitar, that's how I originally started, but electric is self-taught over this past year or so :) And what's his channel? He must be seriously good to teach guitar to the level that you're playing at.

@MrWiggerdale123 yes i meant vocals ;) im also pretty much self taught, i play electric guitar seriously for 3or 4 years now and i taught all the techniques like sweeping myself, my old teacher was only a classical player so now i take lessons frrom my freind ;) his channel name is Robmaierguitar . haha so you checked out my covers? :D thanks but im not that good, ich suck at shredding pretty hard :D

I mean, it's very fast, haha, not all that many players are that strong with their pinky :) and tbh, if you want to play metal, all you really need to know are the harmonic minor, melodic minor and phygrian mode scales, that seems to be the way of modern metal, haha.

Haha, once you know one position you can work out the others from there :) and who doesn't know the minor pentatonic, haha, I always try to avoid pentatonics cos they're used so heavily used in solos, it's kinda simple, but sometimes it's hard to avoid using them cos they always seem to fit.

@AlexQ9319 lol well i like schecter because 90% of their 7 strings have a longer scale then just 25.5 inches, but i took a look at this thing and noticed "oh shit they actually realized that 25.5 sounds like mud on their 7 strings and made a longer one!" well atleast any i'v played with that scale were muddy (especially that rga7) but damn man you are lucky to have that thing! sounds like it drop tunes as good as any baritone 7 string!
