So we invented paper filters after we invented electric percolators? FAIL
The percolator was invented in 1865, and humans have been drinking coffee since the 1500's using the drip method with paper and cloth filters, or the Turkish method which uses no filter.
@jib1000 Thanks, but I'm no genius. I did watch the video to learn how to use a peculator. Which I did and now I'm going to put that to use when I go camping with my friends.

I just brewed my first pot of perc coffee. Mmm. The reason it needs to be cold water to start is that it is the thermal differencial which makes it perc. If it is all hot to start with then it wouldn't go up the tube. Pretty cool idea. I got a stove top pot so I can take it to my little cabin in Alaska and brew it with a gas stove. Great coffee.
