You can't completely change the direction of the cut mid way through, you end up with the sword getting stuck without the assistance of bone. There's a reason why none of this bullshit is practiced, because it didn't work when killing was legal in Japan, of course you wouldn't know that.

@GeoVII Yes, it makes sense to avoid bone, extends the life of your sword, but you CANNOT CHANGE DIRECTION MID CUT AND EXPECT THE SWORD TO MOVE AN INCH!
Once the sword is in the target, you cut straight. You cannot weave around bones and carve your target like a christmas hen.
The reason why Spaniards have a high interest in Japanese martial arts is because they got kicked out of the country centuries ago for spreading Christianity. NEVER trust the Spanish unless they have Japanese MA links.

I agree. Anyone knows that they practiced cutting off arms, legs, and around the groin and neck because that's where the openings were in the armor.
