  • she did a full double, look online even though it is called a double there is only one and a half rotations

  • okay. now i know what i'm doing wrong

  • just a little advice, make sure your foot crosses over completely. it will help you pull in tighter so you can rotate faster. good jump though!

  • That wasn't cheated. You people do your double Salchows just like that and don't even realize it! You can't do a Salchow without your left foot touching the ice when you're forward. If that foot wasn't still touching the ice you would never get enough momentum to even to a single. That was a perfect double Sal, okay. Her arms are moving in sync with the leg, she's not pre-rotating either. Why does everyone have to be so critical? Watch pro skaters doing it, they do it the same way.

  • that was not cheated! she landed backward on the correct foot and edge and everything!

  • that wasn't a double that was barely 1 and a half

  • @Callifornia14

1 and a half is a double salchow if it were 2 or 2 and a half then it would b a triple or overrotsated double

  • @cornisyummy7 a double salchow is 2. technically since you sort of take off forward, it could be 1 and a half, but its supposed to be 2.

  • @lrnfigrsk8r965

ya i guess ur right but i was speaking techinically bcuz i've always been taught to take off forward

  • thats not a sowcow

  • thank u!!! i now understand =)

  • very useful video, thanks!

  • needs more speed in order to get the height

  • needs more height

  • that was good, but it had basically no hight. try jumping higher and i garuntee it will look better!

  • Nice job!

  • Very nice, but I think quadruple salchow its more spectacular.

  • LooooooooooooooL

  • pretty good for her age lol are u acctually allowed to put your free leg down to help you rotate before the jump?

  • You are supposed to put your free leg down on the ice.. but without pushing, just skim the ice with the free leg.

  • ur not supposed to but there is nothing wrong with it if u do

  • are u sure???? i dont think your supposed to do that. I do that sometimes by accident but im pretty sure your not supposed to do that purposely....

  • Do what? What are you referring to?

  • I was reffering to you saying that you are supposed to put the free-leg on the ice before the jump "but without pushing" i have even spoke with my coach and you aren't "supposed" to do that..... it happens on accident a lot and it doesnt affect your score but you arent supposed to put the free leg down before jumping on a double salchow.

  • no u can do that i mean u dont have to but its just another way of doing it. but if ur just starting i wouldnt do only cause u need to find ur balance on ur skating foot first. sometimes when u put ur foot down like that u can accidently put wieght on that foot and u cant jump like that.

  • i dont think her foot was on the ice before she jumped she bent her skating leg a lot to bring the free leg thru so it looks like it touched the ice but didnt like a good broken leg spin it looks like ur free leg is on the ice when ur spining but ur not

  • she actually over rotated...

  • Well she turned back to forwards before taking off which is exactly the way my coach teaches it as well. ;o)

  • She turned back to forward which is normal and then back again she cheated....

  • I just want to let you know that I really appreciate your honest comment.

  • @estebanz3 yeah shes prerotating it too much

  • it was only two rotations when it's supposed to be 2 1/2, but i give her credit for learning the jump and having a good takeoff and landing!

  • isn't a double salchow supposed to be two rotations? I think you're thinking a double axel. THAT'S supposed to have 2 1/2 rotations

  • yes u r correct lol

  • no its supposed to be 2 sry

  • it's a double salchow. A triple salchow would have two and a half rotations. A double "only" has one and a half.

  • @iare07 you're so wrong with your explanation. a double has 2 rotations and a triple 3. the only jumps with half rotations are axels.

  • @HanaKimi22Lover No she's right...a "double" salchow has only 1 1/2 rotations because you take off facing forward basically. A "triple" only has 2 1/2. All other double jumps (minus the axel) have 2 full rotations)

  • Trust me I know what I'm talking about. I've been skating for 8 years. I think I know how many rotations jumps have.

  • hehe... 1 ½ is right!

  • @HanaKimi22Lover no I'm sorry, a double salchow has 1 1/2 rotations. Double flips and lutzes are the only ones with 2 rotations..

a take-off is when you are on your pick, one hundredth of a second from being in the air.

  • @iare07 no a double salchow has 2 full rotations and a triple salchow has 3

  • Great! how old is she?

  • She is 9 going into 20!

  • She is amazing for her age. I think once she learns to jump higher it'll help her landings look even better. It's nice to see a skater with great technique already. I can see her at Nationals placing rather high with that technique.

  • thank you for the slo mo~ now to do this on the ice lol...

  • wait a sec... is that the Calalta rink?

  • yes u r right

  • Yeah, thought so I saw Sharon

  • great job.
