Driving a motorcycle with cars and trucks on the road is actually kind of stupid if you think about it. I know of a guy who had to go to anger management because he tried to run a motorcyclist off the road, so if they`re not being careless they`re actually trying to hit you. In this world full of stupid and evil people driving a motorcycle on public roads is suicide. Think about it, you`re relying on everyone else to follow the rules and be good drivers. The bike was hauling ass, and that was NOT the typical left-turn accident scenario, which involves a car turning in front of an oncoming bike. That was a "pull-out" accident scenario.
I bet both my testicles that the driver was a blonde woman talking on her phone looking right to make sure she could go, and did not look left. Also did not stop for the stop sign.
You can gauge the speed of the motorcycle by seeing the velocity of the deflected debris compare it to the the velocity of the two vehicles that went in the same direction earlier in the video. Even after deflecting it's forward velocity was higher than the two previous vehicles in the video, not slower if it was going the same velocity as the two prior vehicles. Also the motorcycle hit the rear quarter panel of the car, which was left of center of bike's lane.
The car didn't stop at the T intersection nor yielded the right of way to the motorcycle but also the biker was going much faster than the previous cars. While the biker had the right of way, the velocity it was moving kept it from braking and maneuvering out of the way , looks like the biker panicked too and didn't try to drift right in it's own lane.

My GPS won't allow you to make any changes when the vehicle is going more that 10 miles per hour. I know all cell phones have triangulation built in and can easily also STOP the user from at least TEXTING while moving - that alone would save thousands of lives a year.
As a second thought, I can see why people hunt down and seek the ultimate retribution on people stupid enough to care so little for other people's lives. If it were a cellphone, text messaging or just careless driving, I could fully sympathize with anyone wanting to get even for such a tragedy. If there were street lights and the biker had a green light, then its more of the car's fault. If there were no lights and that was a stopsign on the drivers side "assuming because the car before the bike drove through without stopping. @bryruncorn That has nothing to do with age. Most older people (and I agree) believe that any vehicle on the road better be able to do the speed limit or get the fuck out of the way. Ride on a bike trail, sidewalk or well over on the shoulder of the road. A friend of mine stated that one day a month there should be open season on anything in spandex. I agree. I have lived in countries where bicycles were prevelent and used as transportation rather than a toy such as in the US.
Even in those countries, bicycles were expected to NOT impede traffic. If you are in the road far enough that a car can not pass you without having to cross the center line, you better speed up enough to do the speed limit or take the chance of getting run over.

I follow the law and still get honked at by stupid soccer mom's on their phones trying to blast 40mph through a 30 zone in town, then when I chase them down they take an attitude with me for getting in their way and delaying them by 0.5 minutes. @bryruncorn Old is a relative term. Cute, ugly, strong, weak, high, low etc. These are all relative terms and are totally meaningless without a baseline to compare it to. You claim that "old" people are the most dangerous on the road. According to the insurance companies, who have done extensive studies for decades, the most dangerous drivers on the road are between the ages of 16 and 25. So, apparently old to you is 16. What happens when they turn 25? They get young again?

@ardvarkkkkk1 you asked what "old" is so you went to school and by the way that study may show 16 to 25 year olds more dangerous but i ride a push bike and 16 to 25 (well 17 to 25) year olds pass me safely as where older people (50+) pass me too close. just last week an oap clipped my handlebar while passing me another came out of a T junction and i near crashed into it but i'm quick to press the breaks so i not hit it and i'm 24. i'm more aware than old people (50+)

@bryruncorn That has nothing to do with age. Most older people (and I agree) believe that any vehicle on the road better be able to do the speed limit or get the fuck out of the way. Ride on a bike trail, sidewalk or well over on the shoulder of the road. A friend of mine stated that one day a month there should be open season on anything in spandex. I agree. I have lived in countries where bicycles were prevelent and used as transportation rather than a toy such as in the US.

Even in those countries, bicycles were expected to NOT impede traffic. If you are in the road far enough that a car can not pass you without having to cross the center line, you better speed up enough to do the speed limit or take the chance of getting run over.

@ardvarkkkkk1 I ride a bicycle for exercise, I can hit 30+. I follow the law and still get honked at by stupid soccer mom's on their phones trying to blast 40mph through a 30 zone in town, then when I chase them down they take an attitude with me for getting in their way and delaying them by 0.5 minutes. Lucky I didn't pull out my knife and slash her tires at the red light. Americans in general are too busy doing everything in their cars but driving. Open season on people in cages.

@KIFulgore I, personally, would like just to see drivers go through a mandatory motorcycle course. Just the book part not the driving part. Goodness knows half of them can drive on 4 wheels let alone 2 [the idiot in this video for instance couldn't figure out what that big red octagon was for] . But the book part in itself would raise their awareness.

I agree, some kind of motorcycle awareness training would be great. I'm just really hesitant to make everyone actually get on a bike. I never learned SIPDE in driver's ed but it's something I do naturally (scan and predict what idiots will do). The biggest problem with drivers is they need to put down the damn cell phone and DRIVE!

@toyotas2006 Well, the rider wasn't 'at fault', but it was his fault. When you get on a bike, you need to assume everyone around you does not know you exist and is trying to kill you. Its usually scary driving in a car with 4 wheels and lots of metal around you. Most people are absolute idiots when it comes to driving...

yes you are mor exposed on a bike but the fact is that left turn idiots is a riders nightmare. it's really scary to see people who are "driving" while doing others things like eating, cellphone, make up or what ever and having no control what so ever on the traffic.
yes some sportsbike drive way to fast ( driver thinking they are farther away) but a lot of times bikes get hit while driving at legal speed thanks to idiots not using their eyes.

Folks, can we all be a bit less hurried, more relaxed and considerate on the road? I know it sounds lame, but so many people die on the roads due to lack of concern and consideration. Just a little caution could save so much pain.
