This is the second consecutive clip wherein a good guitar player appears to go out of his way to make the Big Baby Taylor sound as trebly as possible. That aside I'm tempted to buy one to sing to my students, as they sound good at the store and are affordable.
Why post a test of the camera and sound unless you list the recording equipment's make and model? Some of the juniors think that it is a sound test of the guitar. That guitar and your voice sound much better, I'm sure, unless a mousy hobbit on a banjo is standard in your shop.
Taylors are always lacking the low range...Most of them almost sounds like a resonator. I know some of you guys will say it's a matter of taste, but hey! We all know some good low range is essential for human ears. That's why you can't have a rock band without a bass player.
i have my guitar since maybe 1 year and i thougt it was great but now i started playin like only with baree and thats pretty shit cuz its to heavy, especially for teenage girls . but i dont really now whtat's the problem, so is it only me or other people too? i need to konw if its like a mistake at my guitar!
I think the lack of bass is from the camera. His voice seems to lack bass, too. I've tried this guitar and nope, it's not weak in bass at all. Amazingly full for its slightly smaller size and really compact feel.
After much research and hours of playing guitars at my local GC, i landed on a Taylor. This is my first real guitar as ive only been playing for about a year now. I started on a fender beginner setup, but something was missing. Really didnt want to spend that much, but as the tech said " here try this Taylor" i knew from the first strum that this was the one. Taylor's litteraly sing. All what i was looking for and more... Hooked for life...
actually, if you get a chance to play them then you might change your mind.
i bought the big baby after playing a few martins of the same price and not liking them. this video actually kinda sucks for exhibiting the true volume and high-end sound of this taylor guitar.
also overall, taylor is generally a little bit better than martin, in my opinion.
please feel free to disagree but please dont be a dick and argue immaturely.
I've found Taylors don't have quite as good sound as Martins and they tend to crack if u don't keep them humidified which i don't like to do because its an unrealistic way to keep an instrument, my guitar dried out just fine with no problems.
@jirdimaster That's a pretty big generalization saying that Taylor guitars "tend to crack." I personally know at least 17 people who own Taylors here in both Northern and Southern CA, Hawaii, NY and Boston and we all have no problems whatsoever.
As for sound it's personal preference. If you are saying that all of the actual musicians (real recognized paid recording artists - forget about us avg folks) are all wrong.. that's saying quite a bit too. It's about personal preference.
WOW, Nice guitar! I usually HATE Taylors [I've been spoiled by my Uncle, who has 2 nice Martins, and I have one as well] but a fella in my band has this same exact model, MAN what a tone monster! Very comparable to high end Martins and Gibsons. Especially when he puts new strings on it. I just don't like the body size.
i'd go as far as to say that it's the best in it's own price range and up to about the $800 range.. unless you want acoustic electric, it's damn good.
I love my BB Taylor. I went to a music super store with an acoustic room and picked up guitar after guitar w/my wife there. She knows nothing about guitars. I played the BB and then picked up a Guild worth $1000. She thought the BB sounded much better. Then I played a Gibson... again worth about $1000 or so. She still thought the BB sounded better. I played just about every brand of guitar ranging from $500 to $2000 and she prefered the sound of the Taylor over all of them, and so did I! Get one
big babys are 15/16 of the normal size, other than that i think it sounds better than most other taylors up to the 1500 range. its crazzyyy light weight with laminate back and sides, but still has that nice sparkling taylor sound. The only down is that it doesnt really have too much of a bass range at first..you may have to wait for the spruce top to age a little before you get a good bass sound
LOL No the guitar is junk.

This guitar doesn't has a shorter scale, it's a shorter scale dreadnought (15/16) but the neck scale it's 25.5". It's not the same.

I hate how everybody tries to show off their Taylors with the simplest songs. Taylors are guitars that should be treated with better respect.

How much did you pay for your Taylor? and whats the diffrence between a Big Baby Taylor and a normal Taylor?

big baby taylors are 450 at guitar center

ALBERTOSKATER436 3 years ago
actually the scale of the neck is a little small too. but just barely though its 15/16 scale so its just barely small enough to notice.

you presumed that the BB Taylor is a shorter scaled guitar but it's actually a long scale guitar like a Martin. It's only the body that's smaller.
