  • Just as Gravel makes this video the ships decide to play Dueling Horns! Or they were added for a reason....

  • SEVEN DAYS

  • You are a winner. Im voting.

  • Dude get a life

  • Gravel was awesome and all but i do think its a bit ironic/funny that the 'gravel2008' grahpic looks like its up in flames.

  • i believe he secured the dada vote, at least

  • this is fukin shite

  • FUCK

    YEAH

    GRAVEL

  • Former member of the Senate from Alaska back in the Seventies, he was falsely accused of sleeping with this whore in exchange for a vote. Fanny Fox, the mistress of Wilbur Mills, slandered him thus. I went to school with one of his children and it devistated their lives. And everybody knew it was a lie. His son was captain of the football team and his sister was a cheer leader. Kinda wierd, that. But anyway. I wish them all well. The world is not ready for an Alaskan president. Hi, Lynn!

  • I'm really really really confused! How long is it taking for those (what sounds like) freight trains to go passed?

  • @mattybmattyb ~ Those are fog horns. A warning to passing travelers.

  • @mattybmattyb not freight trains, but freighter ships. Yet, i see no water around.

  • He's got my vote!

  • If I was american, I'd vote for this guy.

  • Things that this video consists of: crackle crackle crackle (awkward silence) creepy music....

  • I didn't realize watching stuff burn could be so boring...or creepy...don't ask why, it just is.

  • @Imspidey3000notyou ~ It help with a good friend next to you. Fires and Fireplaces have a rich romantic history.

  • My god this isn't even innovative, wtf was this dude thinking?? Can you imagine if he won, on his first day he'd be like "Ffffffffffffffffffuck!!"

  • Oh yeah, but saying "change" 100,000 times is definitely innovative.

  • yes it is

  • your just being cynical, using the politicals of hate and fear mongering.

    hope

  • @mellowmaromi1 It looks to me like it worked...

  • facking

  • i like the sound the fire makes.

  • Not bad, but the rock is better

  • great vid

    looking for friends Wo

  • ummm... wtf? apparently u guys love pointless videos.... more than seven minutes of nothing... yeah, i would put it in my favorites

  • Mane me encantas

  • Was letting the fire run for 7 freakin' minutes really necessary?

  • yes

  • you bet

  • Hey this is goowd :):)

  • the point of these gravel commercials is to show he is nature oriented and the rock is like a ripple effect once he's elected things will start improving

  • you completely missed the point to both videos

  • Yeah he missed the point on the fire. But with Rock, he wasnt too far off. He said its a metaphor. The ripples in the water are like the ripples in society he will create if he is elected

  • I get it... I get it..

  • he's got my vote

  • wtf? hahahahahahahahahahaha

  • um phoenixs rise from flames maybe? after you destroy (the bush years) you rebuild. its a visual metaphor that requires you learned something in 6th grade. yeah its a little abstract. i guess everyone here would rather watch fast & furious marathons. i guess there is a reason the guy with the most money wins.

  • From the MSNBC site. An interview with mike asking about these videos. This is what Mike said:

Branches are what people acquire in the way of wisdom, he said. And then he reaches down and acquires a little more experience, a little more wisdom. Reaches down, picks up a little more wisdom. And then goes out and starts a fire.

What does a fire represent? Gravel asked rhetorically. Fire represents light, heat, warmth. Its the sustenance of life.

  • Okay, that makes sense.

  • While watching this video, I ate a hot sandwich. I burned the roof of my mouth.

    Makes you think, don't it?

  • lmao again!!! lol

  • Fire. 7 minutes of burning =>Gravel

  • wow FIRE! im going to vote now!!! wait... whose the old white guy? and why is he in this film? i like the fire though...

  • that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, why is watching a fire for seven minutes persuaded u 2 do anything except turn it off.

  • lol these commercials are ridiculous but I like them because they have a hidden meaning.

  • i like it better when he talks. we might as well watch paint dry

  • o nos

  • watching this video makes ya feel warm lol

  • what's the purpose of seeing wood burn? i find this amusing though, not to laugh with to laugh at

  • hmmm...

  • paris hilton 08

  • kennedy has my vote

  • I have to admit...there's something nice about it.

  • I watched the whole 7 mins. I love the sounds of that fire crackling, its almost orgasmic!

  • I support Gravel, but this is a really bad video.

  • Another thing, I bet mike gravel masturbates to these videos.

  • Mike Gravel is the worst candidate by far....far from a libertarian like he pretended to be.

  • RRRRRRRRRRRiiiiiiggggghhhhhttttttttt...

  • Quick, throw a rock on that fire! Or maybe throw the fire in the lake. No, wait, I got it! Light a rock on fire, yeah! Then throw it in the water. No, that's not it.

I know he gave us rock, fire, and water....... what's left? Wind?

Maybe the last video will be of Gravel letting out a nice long fart? Is that it? A fart? Gravel wants us to hear him let out a big fart?

    Rock, fire, water, FART?

    Now I get it!

  • He sounds like a fun guy to listen to.

  • I like fire.

  • So this video is relevant to my interests.

  • gravel is 'da man! brilliant speaker!

  • fire in the hole!

  • This is like listening to a nature track...ahh...

  • His ads are so relaxing...

  • LMAO

  • Gravel's on FAI-YAH!

  • I wish all campaign ads were this good! No bullshit...just the truth.

  • The foghorn reminds me of Bjork's last album.

On a related note, Gravel is miles ahead of Obama, Hilary, or McCain... but I don't think I would vote for him. I don't think he really, truly represents the Libertarian party.

  • So who are you going to vote for instead? Does any other Libertarian candidate stand a chance of challenging the Democratic and Republican candidate?

Gravel's career in politics predates the Libertarian Party; he's a classic liberal!

  • There needs to be a "water" and "Air" video in the set.

  • @indyattic Followed by Magnets.

  • @AlexMote1995 How the fuck do they work?

  • I'm so voting on that fire for president.

  • Sculpting In Time, Andrey Tarkovsky

  • i see Gravel as a brave man for being so open minded

but even if it is "artistic" in manner, this video is just too long

  • Even though he was main "actor"/participant in the film, he did not interfere with the artist's conception. This tells you much about the man.

  • I think the length gave me time to think about the video and open my thoughts to some things. If anything, I wish it was longer. If you don't want to watch a fire for 6 minutes, you don't have to.

  • I was closest to Obama on electoralcompass.

On this website you can explore your position in US political landscape and compare it with the candidates. Tell me your position!

  • Should have ended at 7:00. At 7:02 the camera shakes.

What are those horns in the distance? Soundtrack?

  • Probably the highway.

  • freighters.

  • Possibly, freighters sounding their horns. I've heard freighters on Lake Superior and in the Straits of Mackinaw.

  • Mike Gravel is a great man. The world's not ready for him.

  • I'm ready. I've been ready. The world can't hear him because the media has silenced his candidacy.

  • True.

  • There are only a few but mighty constituencies that don't want to support Mike Gravel: large corporations (Wall Street), the military, defense contractors, the extremely wealthy, the oil and gas companies, the mass media and religious zealots or fanatics. In other words, those most responsible for the mess we now have. To be fair, Americans are also responsible for not doing more sooner. You can help to change this. Support Mike Gravel's Presidential candidacy and the National Initiative.

  • this weird but funny

  • i would vote for him just becuz of his ads, but i cant vote

  • yea i know, his ads are the shit but i can;t vote either :(

  • Santa Mosh should make a video for Mike Gravel supporting him

  • Sheer Zen poetry! Love ya Mike!

  • It's disgusting how the Democratic party has become a pimp to secure the "woman" vote, the "black" vote and the "poor people" vote. Meanwhile, neither of the two remaining candidates the Democrats are promoting through the media will help either women, children, minorities or poor people once in power. Mike Gravel is still in the race and he will help us because he truly cares about us. He was the first Democrat put out of the race by the media/party!

  • its pathetic that you can get on here and make a comment like that...

  • Its pathetic that in our country a man like Gravel has no chace to win, because he is not a big name with money.

  • damn straight, even know him as well as Ron Paul are probably the two things our country needs.

  • Gravel for President indeed!! :D

  • MIKE GRAVEL FOR PRESIDENT!!!

  • Yay you earn cookies for being a dick! :D

  • Yeah, I can't believe anybody would say something like that, despite tensions of politics and such. I'm just guessing here that he is your elder, and to say something like that is beyond disrespectful. Also, yes... lets get another Clinton, a 3rd chance for Bill to get into office. Just what we don't need.

  • Hillary... you're not fooling no one... It's time to come out of the closet...

    We know it's you.

Just come out of the closet.

  • Gravel is the Fire that will bring much needed change in our society.

Vote for Mike and help bring our sisters and brothers who are caught in the fire in Iraq.

The corporate stranglehold is a nightmare.

    Go Gravel !!Peace.

  • I love the sound of an open wood fire.

  • Plus, this is very soothing after all the videos of yelling and screaming.

  • C'mon, people, just ask any Witch! (OK some prefer "Wiccan")

Fire is the element of transformation, of change, of movement from one state to another. Fire is motivation, courage, action. Fire also provides light that one may see: therefore, vision/truth.

This is brilliant. Come on, this is amazing! So simple yet so profound.

  • jamesmadisonboy: no, apparently you are, because first of all, I am not male, so I'm not a "dude." Second, just because you are a Philistine and can't grasp the elegance of this visual statement, well, that's not MY fault. Don't punish me for your own knuckle-dragging Thoggishness.

  • I would like to add something!!!!!

  • Thoggishness? Obviously you've been eating a little too much poop lately. And jamesmadisonboy can't be a Phillistine because he's a Jew and the Good Book can back me up on this statement. Don't try to say you're better than me because you use pedantic diction. That would be a waste on your part because I can see through the thin veil you have constructed in order to hide your unfathomable idiocy. It's just a waste on your part. Don't tag this as a harsh invective b/c everything I said is true.

  • Synonyms don't make you clever, ever.

  • Furthermore, you can ask any Pokemon master and they'll tell you that fire is the type which is super effective against grass and steel but is not very effective against water and ground.

  • Awe. Some.

This can mean so many things. I get it. I so get it.

    It is beautiful.

  • Wow learn how to spell correctly.......BITCH!!

  • this man is the.........SHIT!!!!!!!!!

  • I think I've been hypnotized.

  • I am so voting for this man.

  • i don't understand the meanning of this movie ?

    ..... boring

  • You just don't understand the meaning of Mike Gravel. You're boring.

  • Creepy-crawlies, Luap Nor for the Repubs

and Ekim Levarg for the demon-rats,

the slime bags out of the woodwork!!!

  • I love the metaphor...a light in the fog that doesn't die.

  • wow...i think that may take symbol huntign to the next step

  • Huh?.... o.....k.....

  • Learn about Presidential Candidate Mike Gravel by watching the short series-

"Tribute to Mike Gravel: The Modern Day Thomas Paine".

    /watch?v=arS8nFguDsU

Produced by overmind25, who is a very informed young person.

The series informs you what Gravel stands for and what he intends to do. There's not a lot of deception or talking around subjects. Gravel says what he believes is important for the country. Listen to the content.

  • "The Modern Day Tom Paine"? Sure.

And then winged monkeys will fly out of my ass.

Tom Paine was a disturbing character on balance. But he was never BORING. These adds? Fuggedaboudit. I'm going off to the right to lick Arthur Brown. Now THAT'S "fire"!

  • that was a pretty shitty ending.

  • New Slogan: Mike Gravel--Puting the 'Boring' back into "Hey, that was fucking boring!"

  • lmfao

    clever

  • lmfao that was amazing

  • this video is boring

  • only if you're a normal person with a life

  • Can't save the United States of America. We've gone too far into fascism here to turn back. Only hope is the break up the country into six or seven smaller countries and abolish our nuclear arsenal before we become the new Third Reich. Then we can live normal lives like the Swiss or Norwegians.

  • yo that might be a good idea...

thats not a bad idea at all...

    hmmm

    [im not sarcastic at all]

  • gravel for a new america

  • We did start the fire

Its burning since the world been turning

    we did start the fire

Some help put out this fire

    Vote Gravel

  • Vote Mike Gravel John McCain sucks neocon dick Ask tough questions 9/11 an inside job Paul Wellstone murdered Global warming ignored for 40 years now Osama's and Bush's family friendly Bush family raised on Nazi money Electronic voting machines illegal War in Iraq based on lies Mainstream media lying Is this a religious fugue? Freedom of religion allows freedom to indoctrinate the young into a society of fear and intollerance at schools, temples, mosques, churches, TV
  • A woman's right to choose is a social issue anyway, keep it out of national politics, I think both Paul and Gravel see it that way.

But yes, there are differences. I prefer Gravel's idea on health care, to name an important issue. I oppose stem cell research... that's about it against Mike. But again, national politics should be about something different.

  • All these tricks. When you run for president you should say what your policies are and be honest! There should be more laws on how the president can behave. If he does not uphold most of his promises after a certain time then he or she should be removed!

Look at what's happening to your nation and what it's doing to the rest of the world! The common people are doing nothing to comprehend or change this.

  • Some people have tried. We don't have an entryway to power. We're isolated without viable organizations and the political parties and media are not listening to us. Mike Gravel's National Initiative will give the people a voice. If Congress will not impeach, WE WILL!!

  • Yes, its time for a PEOPLES' IMPEACHMENT!! Our representatives have shown that they don't really represent us. What other recourse do we have but to set up our own tribunal to do the right thing constitutionally.

  • Ron Paul could be much worse than another shilnton or another psboosh !!! RP guys should wake up and smell the coffee.

One more thing, there's the National Initiative from Mike. Be responsible !

    Mike for President !!!!!Peace.

  • How could Paul be worse than Clinton or Bush? Have you considered the ways in which he would be far better?

I do like the National Initiative, from what little understanding I have of it, although it seems pretty straightforward.

  • I love the sound of an open wood fire.

  • Ron Paul sucks.

  • Many of you seem to be Ron Paul fans. Well, I can understand that Ron Paul and Mike Gravel seem to have a sense of commonality. Both of them are fairly blunt, outspoken, and independent of the big political machines. We all applaud that. But take a look at the issues. Ron Paul does not believe in a woman's right to choose, gun control or sticking his neck out for Global Warming, our greatest threat. I respect Ron Paul, but on the issues, I could not vote for him.

  • Ron Paul is not opposed to these things, he's opposed to the federal government ramming them down our throats. Big difference.

All that's required to stop corporate pollution and switch to renewable energy is for the market to demand it. Government is not the answer, and they aren't in charge. Neither are the corporations. We are.

Silence is compliance. Dr. Paul is about taking responsibility for yourself, not handing it off to government.

  • Yeah and when the Republican Corporate Raiders in the White House have totally killed FEMA because they hate government because it's potential competition, are we supposed to take up a collection for hurricane Katrina survivors or just keep them in the poison filled trailer concentration camp?

  • Paul and Gravel have vastly different ideas as to the role of the Federal Government.

They agree on certain key issues, but differ on the role government should play.

A Paul/Gravel or Kucinich ticket will not happen.

  • Paul/Gravel '08 or vice versa I dont care, that would be a dream come true ;)

  • Too bad Gravel has not been invited to any more presidential debates.

It's a shame that he is a dying breed and now we have to vote for the Council on Foreign Relations sell outs.

  • Vote Ron Paul, and then Ron Paul will either pick Dennis Kucinich or Mike Gravel to be VP. Wouldn't that be a swift kick in the balls to all the NeoCons.

  • Really? Gravel was the one who exposed the lies of Vietnam with the Pentagon papers?

    are you that fucking stupid?
