Beyonce is a good singer and designer but honestly, she does not have the exotic appeal that Rihanna has. I think that is why many people love Rihanna. She is from Barbados and so yeah she is exotic and that is what makes her so special and so sexy.

Beyonce debuted on the radio and charts in 1997 with "No, No, No" and Rihanna debuted in 2005 to the mainstream pop charts with "Pon de Replay". The point that I'm trying to make is that they're from different generations in pop. Beyonce has way more experience and in my opinion she is a superior performer. Rihanna just looks more exotic in my opinion, probably because she has them island features and a beautiful cafe au lait skin tone.
Beyonce is the better artist/performer but Rihanna SEXY!
