  • Beautiful song, love it :)

  • @lovesacousticrythm Thanks!

  • beanscot; I know Im not perfect but I try hard to live for OUR GOD .Why dont you take a good look at yourself, I bet you are imperfect also. If I see some "Self-Serveing-Bums" that need Baptising I`ll do it my way, and I promise I wont be critical of you, I`ll cast no stones. .Also this ends right here,Im not responding to any more criticism. God Bless.

  • l am sick of hearing politicians say "We need to move the Country forward",l disrespectfully disagree, look at the mess "moveing forward" has got us in.I say "we need to move the Country back" to GOD, and move all them MORONS in Washington to the "RIVER of JORDAN", and throw their self-serveing butts in.

  • @BubbaRRNC You have expressed your opinion strongly. Now may I gently remind you that children of the King are to live their lives representing God in our words and deeds? I believe it is better if we don't use the same language that a non-believer might use. God bless.

  • God loves us all and gives us a home in Heaven for eternity. Jesus gave his life so we can be there. Please accept Jesus into your heart and live for and love God and let satan be defeated.

  • Love the last picture where the soldier is getting baptised, amazing what God can do in the loneliest places and in such dire times.

  • @midnightwolf2937 Yes, it is amazing. We have an amazing God!

  • Baptized in a small river at Cohutta Springs in Crandall, GA. It was so beautiful. The day was beautiful with the scene of the Northwest Georgia Mountains right behind us. It was the greatest day of my life. I had never been so fearless of water. God was watching. God Bless.

  • @jennel802009 Thank you.

  • I only converted to Christianity six years ago (at the age of 57), but I had followed Ralph Stanley and the Chinch Mountain Boys since 1970. Back in the mid-1970s, Ricky Skaggs toured with the band at the early age of 14, for the next few years. Raphy put him as a lead mandolin player at that young age, and one can see why.

So I feel foolish, only today, at the age of 63, finally clicking onto YouTou to hear Ricky Skaggs gospel. It is all superb, and this song especially. Well done.

  • @DavidJamesMurrell Thank you for sharing your testimony. I hope you will find other gospel songs by Ricky Skaggs to enjoy.

  • Was baptized in 1972 in the Pound River, 8 miles south of the VA-/-KY line. Member of the Birch-field Old Regular Baptist Church of Pound, VA. My Father was the Reverend William Clyde Baker Jr. I miss my dear father; this was one of his favorite songs. I would sing it 10,000 times if I could kiss him on the cheek one more time

  • @Wunlong1234 There is the hope of an eternity in Heaven. God bless.

  • Always a blessing to hear Ricky and gospel!

  • @atbound1 Thanks for commenting.

  • I'm not a Christian and I like this kind of music.

  • @badazzpresidents23 It's an uplifting sound. Thanks for commenting.

  • @beanscot no problem :)

  • Jesus is the only answer !

  • @OLDROMANCROSS Yes, He is.

  • @OLDROMANCROSS AMEN! Tell me about it. He sure is. When it is out of our hands just give it to Him and He will know what to do. God Bless.

  • AMEN!!!! For God So Loved The World He Gave His Only Begotten Son, That Who Ever Believes In Him Shall Not Perish But Have Everlasting Life... John 3:16... How AWESOME is it that the Creator of the Universe Loved sinners like me that He gave his Son.

  • I'm from france, and we're a lot less religious than america. i personnaly have troubles to understand why people need to believe in a god. but seing those pictures and listening to this music, i can't help but feel some... harmony and peace. I respect that, it's a good feeling. this is the good side of religion i think, the one who does'nt set people apart, but bring them together.

  • @bessonpaul Religion is different than a personal, saving faith in Jesus. His grace is amazing! There's nothing better than the freedom found in belonging to God. I am loved and my sins are forgiven. My soul has been cleansed and I have been made new. God's peace and His strength in time of need is better than anything this world offers. I'll stop even though I could just go on and on about my God. : ) Thank you for commenting!

  • @beanscot thats a good testimony

  • @beanscot Amen and Amen! So very well put.

  • @beanscot please feel free to preach to me :)

  • @lovelykeke911 We're here to serve! : )

  • @bessonpaul JESUS LOVES YOU AND HE IS WHAT WE LIVE FOR AND WHY WE LIVE.JESUS SAVES.

  • @bessonpaul Beanscot is right. Im only a teen but it is amazing how peaceful you feel while practicing the faith. Jesus brings me hope when i am weak and faltering and it is only Him that keeps me going. I know that while I follow Him, im in his grace and I shall have eternal life!

  • @sargedirt that's good for you i guess, i don't believe myself, in god or eternal life. I think you have to live with your own strenghts, which is a lot harder to do. but again, not trying to antagonize anyone. and if jesus brings you peace and courage, well, I'm not questionning that. It's good for you.

  • Respond to this video... If you think the music gives you peace, try a big dose of Jesus!

  • @bessonpaul If John the Baptist was Jesus relative (Lk 1v36) & if they met each other then how come John needed a dove to identify Jesus (John 1v33) & if they did not meet each other then it's astounding: John sat in desert Lk1v80 rather than travel 70miles to meet his relative who his mother surely told him was Lord Jesus of God (Lk 1v42)?Imagine them not even trying to meet M,J & Jesus at the Passover in Jerusalem each year Lk 2v41, especially if liz‘s Zech was Temple priest Lk 1v8.

  • @zytigon it did'nt happen in real life.

  • i absolutely love this song -- as well as many other christian songs. that being said, i am someone who has spent much of my life contemplating religion, god, and a superior being and have arrived very comfortably at the decision that i don't believe there is a god. sure, i wish there was a god, but as someone who bases my beliefs on the best available evidence, i have no choice but to lean towards the fact there is no god. this does not mean i don't love good music =)

  • @deebska15 I won't try to convince you otherwise, because God is capable of doing so : ) I'm glad you enjoyed the song Thanks for commenting.

  • You Southern people are totally insane. But I dare say I love your beautiful music.

BTW: Don't call yourself a Christian unless you read - and PRACTICE - the Gospels.

  • @ytdsgdjgfueyxn537 Unfortunately, Christians, myself included, will not always practice what we preach. It makes me humbly grateful that the Son of God died on the cross for my sins: past, present, and future. It's Amazing Grace, indeed! I'm not Southern, by the way, but spent enough years living in the South to appreciate the music and the people.

  • @beanscot Thank you for your kind comment my friend. It seems there are two versions of Christianity - and I'm not speaking of Protestant vs Catholic. Is St Peter going to let you in just because you have 'faith' or because you practice the Gospels? If I were St. Peter, I wouldn't let someone in just because they said they accepted Jesus - without following his rule: 'Don't praise me with your lips. Do as I do." I forget the verse. Maybe you can find it.... That was my point.

  • @ytdsgdjgfueyxn537 You may be thinking of the Old Testament verse Isaiah 29:13:Isaiah 29:13 (New International Version, ©2010) 13 The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.[a]

  • @beanscot Sorry, but I do not read the Old Testament (except for reference). That is Judaism. It is not Christianity. Christianity is to be found in the Gospels. Are you a Christian or a Jew?

  • @ytdsgdjgfueyxn537 I am a Christian.

  • @beanscot Thank you for the reference to the verse. My comment was a bit brusque. I apologize. I only meant to say, I do not like the Old Testament. I'm thinking of a verse from the Gospels. I'll try to find it. I only think the biggest mistake of the early Christians was to preserve the old books. There is NO such thing as a 'chosen people.' The idea is opposite to the spirt of what Jesus taught: Universal Love.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • @ytdsgdjgfueyxn537 I believe both Testaments are the complete Word of God. I believe Jesus is the fulfillment of the Messianic prophesies of the Old Testament. There is much for any Christian to learn about the nature of God from the Old Testament.

  • @beanscot My friend, the New and Old Testaments were written by humans, not God. Even in the NT, it is only the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) that were written by the immediate Disciples of Jesus, that is, the men who knew HIm. You've heard of the Gnostic Gospels, that were suppressed by the later Church. Let me put it this way, if you must read the OT, you must read it from the perspective of the Gospels, for much of it is false. That is what Jesus said. That is what He said.

  • @beanscot One caveat: You said: "Jesus is the fulfillment of the Messianic prophesies of the Old Testament. " I don't have a problem with this. What I object to is the idea of a 'chosen people.' And, if I may say, the cruel God of the OT verses the spirt of Jesus' teaching of Universal Love. The OT was the product of a tribe. The Gospels do NOT teach tribalism. They teach Universal Love. If they didn't, what reason to love Christ?

  • @beanscot I agree!

  • thank god some other people aren't afraid to speak up for the lord, song means alot to me, lost a son, good christian young man at the age of 22, name was jordan, miss, him, still wonder how a young man of 22 years could make more of an impact on people than i have in 48 years, he was a better man than me

  • @knoxcountykyman1 Thank you for commenting. It sounds like you raised a good son. I am sorry for your loss.

  • @beanscot thank you

  • @knoxcountykyman1 Your comment here has touched my heart. I am sorry for your loss and Heaven's gain. Your son was an excellent example of how old men will be lead by the young. I don't know exactly how you feel but I know that I am glad to have a daughter who kept after the old man and lived an exemplary life filled with God's goodness. Very grateful that God takes a sinner, like me, looks beyond my faults and shelters me in His arms.

  • @alphashed thank you for your kind words

  • nice song.... but water baptism doesnt save sinners...\

  • @setorlosebagsp Yes, I know It's a representation of what happens when someone accepts Christ as their Savior, the death, burial and resurrection of a sinner saved.

  • @setorlosebagsp no it doesn't, it is a public profession of faith, of your salvation, as to the death, burial, resurrection of christ, a cleansing , symbol wise, you are professing you are a new creature in christ & is commanded by the lord, christ's shed blood on the cross can only wash away & forgive sin, look only to the cross

  • @setorlosebagsp god bless and thank you

  • So precious, the smiles and the cleansing from the Lord.

  • @izzzzieizzie Thank you.

  • praise the lord
