Great! One of favourites from the LP Sounds Like Gene Vincent. Saw Gene when he toured South Africa in the sixties with Mickey Most. Isn't the black dude in the photo slide show the famous Richard Penniman?
I have the original 1959 Lp "SOUNDS LIKE GENE VINCENT" and this is probably my favourite. Appart of this, thanks for the pics, I finally could find a pic of Nero and the Gladiators. Greetings from Spain.
Hi my friend. In the late 50's am English close friend of mine was backing some American stars with bass guitar in England. He was backing Eddie Cochran when asked him to be given his boots. Nero asked the same, but Eddie gave Albie the pair of boots. 4 years ago, when Albie paid me a visit in Spain, he gave me the boots. THIS IS REALLY A TREASURE.
I have that album too whitefalcon64. Some excellent tracks on it. By the way saw Gene in 64 with Brenda Lee and Nero and the Gladitors Gene was backed by sounds incorperated. great memories they never fade. Its just the body gets old.
Good stuff you have, my friend. I also have the rest of Gene's Capitol Lps, but "SOUNDS LIKE" is the only original one. In fact, I couldn't see those ole rockers... I was born in 1964 !!!
Here in Spain
