The airport scanners give you roughly the same dose as you get from being in a plane on 30000 feet for 1-2 minutes (cosmic radiation). Or roughly same dose as simply living in the US for 1-2 hours (average background radiation).

It's probably a higher risk of dying of a disease transmitted by the pat-down guard than dying of the extra radiation from a scanner.
