Whats an option select?

You press two buttons

1st button your pressed came out but the second didnt yet you pressed it

2nd button will come out given a certain situation usually when your opponent went out of hiting range.

This is commonly used by ryu in ssf4 when he jump ins in on a character he knocked down. He jumps in with heavy kick while he is pressing dragon punch motion. Dragon punch will come out if the character jumped or backdashed. that is an option select

I've been using this technique for about a 2-3 weeks now since I use Wesker. I originally found it when I added Chris to the team, and I wanted to fit his machine gun into a combo, but it wouldn't work. I had no problems with X-23 or Trish+Wesker...so I tried pressing them at the same time, and Chris works fine. Now using Wesker+Jill's the same way.

Good to see someone else out there was thinking the same thing, and thinking outside the box a lil bit. It's added many new options for me. :)

@Kamukix thanks for your input, I had that same issue with wesker and akumas hadoken and tried them at the same time initially and realized its alot easier to do

The assist comes out when the button is negative edged. When you lift your fingers from the buttons is when the assist is actually called... Try dashing with a short button press and dashing with a longer button press... This effects characters like taskmaster who have shorter start up with dashing but longer ending dash frames...

Very long winded and confusing video IMO. For any1 still confused...Press 2 attack buttons+ assist at the same time. Adds range to your assists. The assist comes out at the point where your dash finishes thus adding more range to an OTG assist.

@Im2Godlike people who complain usually are upset that either they wanted to post something like this or they don't have the opportunity to do this. Its a shame that people complain even when things are free lol. This all comes with the territory when I make video but in the end of the day, all criticism is good until they don't appreciate and respect that we are trying to make the community better and more welcoming. More respect, less pride. Some don't understand that formula but I know you do

I understand they wanted to make a video about it but they should be happy that the option is now available for every one to see.

@Im2Godlike you are 100% correct about this. They should be but they are not haha, the way I see it, the more they hate the better I feel because I know I am doing something right. People keep info for themselves to show off and what not. Ofcourse not everyone because some people would make videos but they just dont have th means to it so its situational. But its obvious when someone is jealous/envious/ or anything childish.

@Im2Godlike I am glad to know recognize and appreciate this. I have some matches to post before I continue my ranked matches to show some different things about the game and how I am playing now. Sometimes you record things early, but still play and things look different when it comes time to edit and post. So one of my next videos will speak for themselves.
