Without a metal detector I have found old bottles, 2 morgan's and lots of indian head pennies. Just by doing regular yard work, digging up old bushes and planting new ones. I do not have a lot to spend and wonder if you can please tell me the cheapest way to go to find things. TY

    BILL .

  • @DigginAmerica ......Thanks for watching & the kind comment Bill .

  • Wow you hit the jackpot!

  • What fun is there to go and dig up coins only 100-150 years old? It's something fun to dig here in Denmark where you can dig anything between 10-2000 years old coins up.

  • how much was your metal detector?

  • very nice score

    happy hunting!

  • Damn, nice finds, but in here Europe i find hammered coins and stuff thats 500 years old. But its a great hobby everywhere :)

  • If only these coins could talk, the stories they could tell. How lonely they were until you made friends with them :)

  • EN TOTAL ¿CUANTAS MONEDAS TIENES JUNTADAS HASTA AHORA?

  • Had to Rewatch this just to hear Greg say "it's got friends"

on the walkers the mintmark is between the left side of the log that the eagles standing on & the rim

I can't tell if the 1920 has one or if it's a clean spot, have Greg recheck it.

    that was an incredible hunt

    Congrats again

    HH

  • that is absolutely amazing. My best silver is a 1945D war nickel and you're out there finding barbers and walking liberties?!?!?!?! Are you in the midwest?

  • Just awesome. You close to Mississippi. Id love to hunt with ya some day. HH. Great videos.

  • Wow what a great place you found!!

  • hey dave can you answer a question for me, can you check the back of that 1917 standing liberty quarter and see if its a type one because if it is it could be worth a lot for a readable date! to be exact if its a type 1 it would go for 60 bucks and if its a type 2 it would go for 55 in VG-8 which is what that seems to be. Great Finds though...ironically no dimes haha

  • Best hunt ever.....for old silver! I just finished the vid....last post was before it was over....post more finds from that spot....gotta be more!

  • Pure coolness there!

  • LOL 6:39

  • Does Greg have YT channel?..please pm me if so..ty

  • I've only found one barber dime and I that was in the last 15-20 yrs. But to find that many in one day? Thats unbelieveable. Congratulations.

  • 4:57 That walker must've been a popular coin to have all those friends.

  • Great video!!!!

  • wow!! fantastic detecting guys well done!

  • Man, all I ever find in the deep woods is chiggers and bullet casings.

  • I wonder if they might be coins from a dead body that the clothing had worn away ?

  • Just simply amazing Dave, your hunting partner, Greg , Is a Silver Magnet King !

He seems to always get his coil over the silver. Great Video.

  • I am so amazed that you guys are finding lots of silver in the woods! Good job! Keep on hunting! :)

  • Wow. That walking liberty half was gorgeous!

  • Thank you for bringing that up...That is the designers initial..Hermon A. MacNein's initial 'M' is located above and to the right of the date on these coins...Hope you enjoyed the video..Thanks for watching & commenting ..Dave

  • did u guys ntice the "M" stamped next to the dates on the quarters??

  • WOW those are great finds

  • SWEEEET!!!!!

  • I cannot believe that hunt freakin awesome, that 1920 walker looks really sharp. Awesome job you guys.

  • @justanotherpulltab ...............Thanks for watching Roger...........Greg can sure sniff out the silver spills...(As you will see in future videos !)

  • i live in new jersey and i wanna start metal detecting. any good places to go???

  • @123puzzlesmc What parts of Jersey you from?

  • @swinginsouthjersey freehold

  • Actually coins do not sink much, the soil gets built up from decomposing leaves and other organic matter over the years.

Do you know what was at the site back in the 1920's? It must have been a park or some other type of area with a lot of foot traffic.

  • @NeilInWestJersey ...........We figured it had to be a Hobo Campsite from the late 1930's....That's all I can say.

  • Awesome hunt, Dave. Congratulations to Greg for finding those silver coin spills, and to you for yours. I'd say the date of the coin in question is 1918 too. As for finds being in the woods, well, from what I know, woods are favoured a lot by couples, which accounts for many spills. You may think that nobody goes there, but what the eye doesn't see... Most enjoyable video, I still feel all the excitement. Good hunting both of you :D

  • Man this is absolutely amazing. How did you guys decide to go there?? There is an area in my town where a town once flourished with home, stables, hotels stores, etc during the 1820s-1860s that is now woods. Ive thought about exploring the area when it cools down outside.

  • @tgblanke24 by the way, love the video. The thumbs down are jealous they dont find what you do.

  • @tgblanke24 ..............We researched 8 sites and systematicaly hit them one by one.......Total Luck....As with all great finds....I have to admit ....But the next three videos of Metal detecting in this area...are equally as good....Three more videos...Too bad I was not the one to make the best finds in them...(Sigh)....LOL...But atleast I got some great videos out of it !

  • what led you guys to inspect that area?

  • @TheShokwav ..........Research !

  • Whoa....I need oxygen ! lol You won't get a hunt like that everyday. Super finds Dave and Greg. BIG CONGRATS ! HH

P.S. On SLQ's. The dates a recessed starting in 1925. The easiest way to tell a type 2 SLQ is it has the three stars under the eagle on the back. Type 1 doesn't.

  • Thank you Mike

  • Thank you Mike

  • What a awesome group hunt ! All that silver ! Congrats the both of U ! Keep the video's coming ! HH !

  • What a phenomenal hunt! Thanks so much for getting the video for us. A hunt dreams are made of!

  • I'm not sure but I think it's a Type #1 1917 SLQ. The one that you found

  • Thank you GoldenArcher66

  • Those coinspills are a dream for most and (you) find them Awsome buddy

    HH & GL

  • Awesome hunt and video! Congrats on all those silvers. Keep the videos coming. HH

  • Here's a question from someone who doesn't know anything about metal detecting: Why are the coins so deep. I'm assuming they weren't buried intentionally, but dropped. How do they get 6 inches into the soil?

  • @beerandgolf68 .I think it has a little to do with foot traffic..In an old park..I find modern coins down to six inches at times & the older coins at 7-10 inches...Lots of foot traffic..But I have found 100 year old silver at just 2-3 inches...In the woods tho..Where not a soul has visited for 75-100 years...I may find an Indian head cent,or old silver coin at 2 inches,or even just under one inch of leaves..Like it was just dropped..Maybe someone else can chime in with a more scientific reason.

  • great finds guys. hope you left something there.

  • @etrac007 ..........Ohh yeah Mike.........When Tracy came to town........He found 8 silver the first day.......One was a seated.....A BIG ONE.......Sigh..(I passed right by it)...LOL...Ohh well...A great video comming up next week !

  • VNHunt

  • Holy moly silver!

  • Greg is a silver magnet... Great stuff... Congrats.

  • Coin hoard.

  • The STLQ is a 1918. Look at how the date is not recesed like the later 1928 kind. The coin has too much detail to be a latter date.
