  • the video is so low quality that I cant tell which is the pixelation from your wii and which is the pixelation from the video compression

  • Am I blind???

  • How do you mean?

  • geek

  • VICTORY DANCE BABY!

  • (continued)

... after doing this, to prevent it from getting any hotter. The processer can't keep cool, consideriing the fans don't run when the console is turned off. I'm almost positive this is the problem with the consoles graphic problems.

  • I've had WiiConnect24 on since I got my replacement Wii, and this problem never came back. I once got the magnet speech from a customer service rep, so now I keep my Wii a little further away from my CRT TV and subwoofer just in case.

But I think the cause might just be a defective GPU.

  • No. When the light is yellow. When it's yellow, that means wiiconnect24 is turned on, meaning when nintendo releases new updates, or you get messages, the wii will automaticly update. Sometimes you will see the blue light come on where you inser the disk, that is telling you it's updating, or you have a message. If you have a wii, turn on the connect24 for about a half hour. Put your hand on top of the wii. It will be hot, but not nearly hot enough to damage anything. I recommend turning it off.

  • when its on standby connection...

just turn standby connection off and ull be fine

  • Nintendo just said in their site thats the problem...

I think they'll do a firmware update that keeps the cooler on when in WiiConnect24

  • lol... did u keep that WiiConnect24 on??

if u did thats the problem... the wii keep working without coolers.. the graphic card overheat and give u some display issues

  • What graphic card?? lol

  • lol... u know the wii has a graphic card just like a computer right?

  • that was a joke cause the graphics suck on the wii

  • Ah lol...

    its not that suck

  • I think I picked up terms like "artifacting" and "block noise" from either selling TVs at Best Buy or reading too many HD blogs. Please don't let the fact that I worked at Best Buy lower your opinion of the video.

  • that you know about the overheating problem?

  • Yeah, it was the same as the pixel problem. The 'artifacts' I'm referring to are off-color pixels and occasional block noise. I wish this video could do it more justice, but believe me that it looked nasty in 480p widescreen.

  • i dont see anything wrong with the screen!

  • i'm afraid ure hugely wrong there m8, i now hav an hd ready tv and my wii is doing this on my old 14 or sumin inch phillips tv tht wos made ages ago its the gpu or sumin inside the wii

  • No... The wii isn't a high-def system.

    You mist the point, dahouse.

  • i aint lol and the wii is sort of high def its 480p lol xbox 360 is 720-1080p i think and ps3 is 1080p so there lol

  • its not the tv...

  • I dont see nothing wrong

  • PS3= PIECE OF SHIT

  • @mclaine33 PS3 = Playstation 3, you're thinking of POS

  • @marshallgault

Wow your right. I don't what the fuck I was thinking. Maybe I was high when I wrote that, lol

  • i had it too on my first wii and now again i am going to cry

  • i got my wii july 2007 used (only by 2 days) and it works fine

  • u need a hd tv i got one in ym room but not downstairs so i have to play it on a littl 20" tv in my room but i have had no problems since i got it 4 xmas

  • I frst noticed the problem on an HDTV (Samsung 30" CRT). It happened on every TV I connected to. It looked the worst when I was running it in 480p widescreen.

No, the problem was definitely the Wii itself.

  • my wii doesn't have this problem. maybe its just your tv

  • i think that your tv is just ... shit

  • Fuck dude, I've had it twice now. It's getting annoying and they still say they don't know what's causing it. They also claim it's not a huge problem and most reps act like they don't know what I'm talking about. My 2nd repaired wii is on the way back now, I really hope the problem is gon for good now.

  • I have had a similar problem especially on games such as Zelda and RE4 where there are fog effects. I called Nintendo today and they are shipping me a new Wii that I should receive in 2-3 business days. I then just send mine back ,shipping prepaid. If you have purchased any virtual console games I think you have to actually send it in or loose the games though.

  • my wii is having those problems too but only in the reisdent evil game the forth one do oyu know if there's a customer service here in mexico????

  • He's right, I'm sending mine in tomorrow. You're lucky that your wii didn't have much problem...Games Like Red Steel / RE4 are almost UNPLAYABLE with bad issues.

From what I understand, like you said, it is a GPU problem. x_x

  • ps3 lol! that thing is a waste!

  • i think the wii sucks, ps3 is the best

  • I've posted a similar problem I am having with mine. Not as fancy, but it shows the issue.

  • Horrible example - you can't see anything worth anything here. If not for other people and other videos -- I'd say this specific guy is crying over nothing, because whatever the issue, it was small enough to not pass over into this video.

  • I got my replacement from Nintendo nine days after I sent my console in, and now Rayman looks perfect.

They ported over all my Miis and game saves, I just had to install updates and re-download my channels and VC games (no extra charge). All in all, it looks like Wii gaming is back to 100 percent.

  • Yup I've had this too, the only thing I don't like is how now all my Mii's act like theuy weren't made by me and so I can't edit my own Mii's anymore.

  • I never experience this problem. Also you suck, 1904!

  • I think this is Nintendo's "Red Ring of Death" design flaw. Like the 360, I think all Wiis will exhibit the bug at some point. I've already gone through the repair process twice for this problem, and I recommend everyone return their systems if they see the problem. It seems to get worse and worse over time, and consumers need to stop tolerating thse kinds of flaws.
