I grew up in the 80s and never saw this movie before. It looks like a pretty good movie, may just have to go to the movie store and see if they by chance have it.
I've been looking for this video for a few years now. Never thought to check YT. Thank you so much for posting this. This is a real gem! A sleeper classic, that as I see, many of us 80s fans have been looking for.
I have searched for this movie for 28 years! My kids would ask me what my favorite movie was and I would always say "The Electric Grandmother". I could never find it. My kids are grown now.....they were so small when I watched it. Thank you for bringing back a beautiful memory!
My brother and I still talk about this movie and remember it's sweetness. My own mother still could hum the tune that Grandmother sang. Thank you for bringing back a memory for us. I loved this movie.
I swore for years I just imagined this movie. Id ask people had they heard of it... not a single one had. Now that im 36 the memories all came back watching it in school that long ago. Thanx for the upload. Glad I wasnt crazy. Haha
Thank you so much for sharing this memory from my childhood! I cried like a baby as I watched and remembered the poignant ending. As a single mother of 2 beautiful children, I know there will come a time in the not-so-distant future when they will no longer need me as they once did. And then it will be me sitting in a rocking chair, reminiscing about their childhoods, and feeling like it was only yesterday that I sang them lullabies as I held them in my arms. =-(
I am astounded to find this movie again...I'd nearly forgotten it (as the last time I'd seen it was when I was about 8 years old)...but it still brings tears to my eyes. I wish they would put it on dvd, though.
I love this movie. It is so touching. Makes me cry each time I watch it because if only we could have our grandmothers love all the days of our life. That would be so wonderful. 18 years was just not enough for me. I miss my Grandparents so much.
Thank you for posting this. I too, like so many others, was thought of as being crazy when I would mention this move to anybody. I haven't seen this in forever. Thank you SO much for posting this again!
WOW..I've been lookin for this movie for a long time but I could never get the name rite. The part that stuck with me the most was when she took them out to fly a kite and when they broke the sting she pulled some sting rite out of her finger. LOL What realy got me was when she played back the "I LOVE GRANDMA"through her hand. Thanks again for outting this up. I cant beleive I"m actualy chokin up about this.
I remember really being scare of this movie but at the same time found myself thinking about it about once a year and wanting to see it again thank you soo much for putting this up :)
When I first saw this as a kid it made a big impression on me but now it just seemed disturbing lol. I mean the whole point was that the grandma would always be there no matter what which is basically teaching kids to be unable to handle loss.
This movie makes me think of my great grandmother who passed away in 1988. I still miss her now as much as I did then. We were very close. This movie touches my heart, I cry every time, especially when she sings. THANK YOU for posting this wonderful movie. XOXO
Thank you so much for posting this movie...it is so hard to find. It takes me back to being a child and rememberring my own grandmother. Again...thanks for posting this!!!
soooo she took them from child care to hospice??? wow I didn't remember this movie quite like this. The muffin coming out of her titty was a bit of a shock to.
omg!!!!! i was looking for this for a long time. It brings back so many memories of watching it with my daughter. This has got to be my all time favorite. Thank you.
I'm too am glad I found this. I always remembered the part when milk came out of her finger. For awhile I was trying to put that memory to a movie, but people that I asked thought I was crazy...Thanks for posting!!
Great Movie. Does bring back memories. Thank you so much for bringing back the good old days. to bad we don't have electric grandmothers It wouldn't be so hard to lose them. Thanks Again.
Oh what memories...I remember watching this with my mom and brother. I asked my brother a few years ago if he remembered it and he thought I was nuts. Thanks so much for posting...I cried my eyes out!
Thanks for posting this. Last time I saw this I must have been 6 years old. It brings back a lot of memories. The grandmother reminds me of someone I lost about a year ago.
For years I had a memory of a great movie where a robot Grandma slept in a rocking chair while plugged in and was later hit by a car and came back to life and was starting to wonder if I'd made it up.
Yesterday a friend recommended some Twilight Zone episodes and I watched the one based on the same short story (I Sing The Body Electric) and decided to see if I could find the remake.
I have been looking for this for so long tonight it just popped in my head again so i gave it a chance. Thank you so much. I cried too. The part I always remembered was Ask me no questins and i will tell you no lies but one of these mornings you'll find a surprise. that and how she looked so very granma.
29 years since I had seen this and it always came to mind often, I was so happy to see it again and it was just as I remembered, very touching. Thank you so much for posting it. :)
thanks again, im watching this loving every minute, and reflecting on my childhood, its such a good movie for the soul... makes me miss my grandparents
I remember having good memories watching this movie as a kid. I always got tears in my eyes at the end when the kids grow up. I never thought I would see this movie again.
Same here! Thanks for posting this. I hadn't seen this for about 25 years since it aired on TV here in the UK. I've grown up like the kids in the movie too, but never forgot this film and always wanted to see it again. Finally got closure on that thanks to you! :)
