Although it actually flies, NOBODY is saying it's a REAL helicopter. When you see David Copperfield fly, u don't need to run around telling people it's fake. People know it's an illusion. However, If you feel like you've cleared something up by making your comment, more power to you.

I went to school at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. My last year there, I would spend the entire day in my studio practice room. During my breaks I made these paper helicopters (sometimes I realized I did it for an hour) and would throw them out the window (on the YMCA side).

I literally spent months perfecting these. My best was when I had one fly for 15 minutes, from the NEC building and go OVER the YMCA housing building (it was pink so I could see it) several 100feet away

@SkateBoyX1 Thanks for the support SkateBoyX1. When I was your age, I used to perform in night clubs. I was taught to never let a heckler get away with anything. I still live by that rule. However, I manage to do it without using "F Bombs" or cussing at all for that matter. If you check out my responces to nasty comments people leave me, I think you will find it very interesting. Fight the temptation to curse. You will get more respect.

@TheUserName125 Hi there 125. See tutorial #1, then tutorial #2 also the tutorial on my blog. U can print a helicopter straight from the blog. It's the right size. Use the right kind of paper. Xerox paper is great. Make micro adjustments until you get used to it, Cut a little off the tail it will spin slower. Cut a little off the wing, it will go faster. Once U get the hang of it, It will take U 2 minuets instead of 2 hours. Good luck, Let me know if you have any more problems.

@colebutel No my friend, u do not need a paper clip. All paper helicopter need weighted tails to make their wings spin properly. That's why people use paper clips in the first place...to create weight. However, "paper clip helicopters" have "FLAT" tails. My paper helicopter has a twisted tail...therefore it spins more effectively. With my method, the tail IS the weight. A longer tail means a faster spin, and a shorter tail will give u a slower spin. Good luck.

@aggelos163 Pt. one. It ALWAYS works. You must have realistic expectations. Let's suppose you are in a house. You drop your paper helicopter while standing on a chair. Do not expect to see this simple paper cut out fly all around the room. Now, if you happen to go outside on a hot Summer day when there's hardly any wind...then you throw your paper helicopter off a high building...and the paper helicopter catches a hot air updraft...then of course you will see better results.

@aggelos163 This is the reason why I did a second tutorial.It explains in more detail how to get more flight out of a paper helicopter. It is cool to drop it and watch it spin to the floor,but high flight requires more action on your part. Summer time is the best time to fly these things. If there is hardly any wind, if u have hot air rising, and u have a high place to drop your paper helicopter...then those are great conditions to fly your helicopter. Let me know if u have any more problems.

MrGimli2, Nearly everyone does that. If you like it, do it that way. However, my way is better. The paper clip is to add weight. If you make the tail of your helicopter long enough you dont need a paper clip. I twist the paper because it will spin better. I have been making paper helicopters for many years. Trust me. Look at my video that shows my paper helicopters flying. The other way is ok, but when all is said and done, you can't aruge with my results.

Absolutely mind boggling that in two episodes and all these claims about the flying abilities of these helicopters you did not think that anyone would actually want to see it flying. Why not show it flying in the beginning?

I made dozens of these 40 years ago so I could hold them over the radiators on the side of the classroom and watch them be lifted up to the ceiling by the rising hot air and come down on the other side of the room.

This video shows MY PAPER HEILCOPTERS IN ACTUAL FLIGHT...VERY LONG ACTUAL FLIGHT, BY THE WAY. I don't talk trash, I just "bring it". The video speaks for it's self.

i made this and it didnt fly so well....i made one myself and it flies better...just take an a4 cut it in half..now take one of the pieces and put it like this:| | now cut that one in half to the middle..about here: |-| ...now do the same as in the vid but dont roll the paper..fold it and tape it...so it will look like a "grip" now fold the "blades" so that from sideways..the heli will look like a T...tape the "grip" so that it adds more weight and becomes sturdier..and now try it out:)

However, I don't like the idea of anyone misleading people into thinking my stuff won't work. That is very, very wrong. If a person is smart enough to use a crayon, they can make a simple little paper helicopter.

May I suggest you get a few thousand bucks and go to "Helicopters R Us"? They should be able to help you out. I thought it was pretty clear that this was just a little paper flying toy. Sorry for any confusion I may have caused you. You are Sooo right...this is not a real helicopter. If you tied a string to this thing and jumped off a building...you would get hurt or killed. Perhaps you should try "Craigs List" or "Ebay". Maybe they have a real helicopter for you. Good luck to you.

Well thankyou for not saying it's bad. However, I am worried that anyone would even feel comfortable setting is a helicopter made of PAPER. Honestly, I don't think you're going to find a helicopter like that anywhere. If you DO happen to find someone willing to sell you a helicopter like that...I have a feeling they wont sell it to U unless U also buy some swamp land. VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE SWAMP LAND. If you just give it a shot...you know just "eye ball" it. The beauty of this simple little gizmo is that IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT. Trust me it will still fly. You really don't need to do any complicated measuring. I did hand draw 2 of them for you. Just go to my blog post and print them out. There is also a different video tutorial on the blog. Don't try to "over think" it.Just grab some scissors n'have at it.
