The US uses pretty much only nuclear subs, which always emit noise and nothing can be done about that because they are nuclear. Then you have Russia, which runs a few nuclear subs (including the most dangerous class in the world, the Typhoon II), and has a TON of Diesel-Electrics. The disadvantage of a Diesel is they have to surface every few months, and the advantage is underwater they run on batteries. This produces no motor noise.
@6308281 When a diesel-electric sub hears a nuclear sub coming (and it will hear it first), all it has to do is lower its depth and turn off its props, and just wait. It pretty much becomes a ghost making absolutely no noise until the Nuclear sub is just minutes away and it's too late, because there are two torpedoes in the water and nothing it can possibly do.
Virtually all the US's subs are specialized for missile use. Russia actually uses anti-sub submarines. The US relies on destroyers.

С-400 can take down any modern aircraft within 400km range (even the ones with "stealth" tecnology), it can take down helicopters at low height, winged rockets,ballistic rockets, but it can locate the target up to 600km away. C-400 has been kept as military secret since 1998, so it's not rlly all that new.

you really think stealth matters these days? i can guarantee that russia can detect a stealth aircraft easily, hell serbians managed to shoot down an f-117 using outdated missiles by making simple modifications to its tracking.
stealth technology focuses specifically on radar. there are so, so, so many ways to track a plan other than radar. for one they generate tremendous amounts of heat (which cannot be avoided).

Not really 2-3 times. Because the patriot has a range of 160 km it is better then s-400 for killing enemy missiles, s-400 for air craft and s-400 is faster to set up but the u.s. is bulding the new MEADS that can be set up in a few minutes.

Underwater, noise is everything. It is pretty much the only way you will ever be found. A nuclear submarine cannot ever go completely silent simply due to the fact it is run by a nuclear reactor - a diesel-electric submarine can go, very literally, dead silent by switching to pure electric and stopping the props. The only noise coming out of a diesel sub in that state is if someone dropped something inside it.

US uses a multi layer system with the Agies rocket and the THAAD and last layer being the patriot. US has shot down missiles in space and the US has all these sea based and that gives the US a big advantage over Russian ICBM.

not only is the S-400 a missile system with twice the patriot's range, a tenth its setup time, and more capabilities, but russia is almost finished with the S-500. So I really don't know where you're coming from with that - this is the world's most advanced air defense system by far, and its only real competition is a yet-to-be-released russian system.

@iansull This is why these systems are not a factor - it takes seven stations for these systems to work thats seven more times that one of them will be hit and the rest of the system becomes non operational.The systems rely on setting up too many points which makes it an easy target. Its definately a good system for what time it lasts before it gets knocked out. BTW it taken twenty years for this to come into operation, What you thought the coalition were just sitting around. Think about it.

you conveniently forget that not only is this a mobile system (so any of its parts could be anywhere at any time), but it has radar and missile range far, FAR greater than any air-to-ground weapon in existence, along with the ability to detect stealth aircraft.
so outside of an opposing army taking it out from the ground (considering how far behind front lines it could be put, unlikely) or a fictional satellite dropping bombs all over a vast stretch of forest - it creates total air denial.

oh, I forgot that this is an anti-ballistic missile capable SAM with range over 250km. So yeah, assuming such fictional satellites existed - THEY WOULD NOT BE OUT OF ITS RANGE. It would be perfectly capable of firing straight up and knocking any satellite out of the sky with its missiles.

Thats why the CCCP failed becuase it could not ever keep up or function as well as the nato coalitions. like i said its a great system but its time on the field will most likely be short. The US uses pretty much only nuclear subs, which always emit noise and nothing can be done about that because they are nuclear. Then you have Russia, which runs a few nuclear subs (including the most dangerous class in the world, the Typhoon II), and has a TON of Diesel-Electrics. The disadvantage of a Diesel is they have to surface every few months, and the advantage is underwater they run on batteries. This produces no motor noise.

@6308281 When a diesel-electric sub hears a nuclear sub coming (and it will hear it first), all it has to do is lower its depth and turn off its props, and just wait. It pretty much becomes a ghost making absolutely no noise until the Nuclear sub is just minutes away and it's too late, because there are two torpedoes in the water and nothing it can possibly do.
Virtually all the US's subs are specialized for missile use. Russia actually uses anti-sub submarines. The US relies on destroyers.
