  • Song title: everythings gone green, Song length: 4:20. Hmmmmm

  • @johnflynn1396 I see what you did there ;)

  • Trust the man with the black sunglasses and the big red dildo.

  • Not even the Good Lord knows how many Americans were made to go whore, male and female alike, to displaced Nazi social systemologists who felt they could establish a new order of social control and cultural arrangement back in the 50s, let alone how many have more than willingly gone whore to the fallascious finacial schemes of the 80s and 90s foisted on an unprepared and unwitting public bedazzled by technology advance, seeking favour of credit given where none were due.

  • This really is one of the most genius things I have ever witnessed! Such a brilliant meeting of sound and imagery!

  • Spotnick2 I checked my selection of Favourites youtube videos today, and saw many were erased ;( but was relieved that this one was still there ;)) after all this time. The Sound quality and images closer to the truth of the world today after all those years of spinning this track wish i were spinning this @ The Twilight Zone on my tues night so many years ago now, but the memory is recharged with this video...Thnx M8 !

  • fookin epic.

  • brilliant!

  • This is one of my favorite songs. I can still remember the summer I was 12 listening to this record over and over while reading Stephen King's The Stand.

  • Easily the coolest tune of the winter '81-'82, yes some of us are old enough to have been bopping around to this,

  • I love New Order but their videos never make shit sense...

  • The perfect blend of the past Joy Division and the future New Order

  • Great one note bass riff. Dark, mysterious tune in the new wave tradition.

  • why is there a dildo shooter at 2:30 ?

  • Love this song!

  • Graet song, strange video

  • @sharethtattooartist eeeeepaaaaa es un broma XD :P

  • On both counts this is....sheer GENIUS!!!

  • really, ....18 dislikes?????

  • @MrGargoyle668 I don't get that, either.... It's logic defying enough as it is that there's dislike buttons on New Order videos!

  • THE GUNS OF NEW ORDER

  • Hugh Laurie cameo on 1:24

  • @lbaeza really? is it he?))

  • Everything's gone green, even the mozzarellas.

  • When I listen to this song I imagine the movies in my mind,"Soylent Green"(1973)&"Blade Runner"(1982),put together.

  • One of the greatest post-punk songs ever. Still sounds brilliant.

  • Thank New Order for shitty electronic based pop, hip hop, and techno. I can't believe this came out in 1981

  • An amazing police training (or is it industry advertising) video sequence, set to the soundtracking of the New Order musical group. Gripping stuff.

  • @Lieu3C4 - Looks like LAPD riot control training video from early 1960s.

  • For the poor unenlightened sap who asked how this should be called music. It's called music because music is what seeps deep into your soul and creates emotion just like looking at a great piece of art. What SHOULD I call music ? Maybe some GaGa, or some J-lo, Lil Wayne ?

  • it sems like i've been here before!!!!!

  • How can anyone dislike this?

  • Comment removed

  • i just wasted 4 minutes of my life

  • @Droid682

That's a shame, what were you doing?

  • Had the original vinyl e.p. Loaned it and lost it. :( man would my woofers move to this song :)

  • i like it!

  • wow.. do ya think they were thinkin' about replicating the success of Blue Monday

    on this tune??

  • Comment removed

  • @timjmoran this song came out before Blue Monday. A lot of their earlier stuff plays on the same theme. Listen to the song 586 off of power corruption and lies and you'll see what I mean

  • @timjmoran this song was released way before blue monday.

  • great guitar riffzzz, increduable baszz

  • superb.

  • some acid pliz

  • 17 stupids

  • @thegr8overlord new order. well now they're old order.

  • This song rocks, this video sucks...

  • Does anyone hear another song come on after this video ends? listen for a few seconds after this is over.

  • they stole this song from new order.

  • I love both Joy Division and New Order. i can't stop listening to this song! It's so deep and full of emotions.

  • YUMYUM!

  • The soundtrack of my life it heavily played by new order...

  • cutting edge, groundbreaking, original, what more is there to say about new order and there music.

  • hooky's killer bass upfront, awesome.

  • Bought the seven inch of "everything's gone green" with the red cover. Friends had it with yellow, blue and green covers. Always felt the red was best because it was the one I had. Sad youth turns to sad manhood, hey ho! Still play it.

  • wat is this music video about

  • oh my god i should be asleep, now on a New Order memory lane session, once they get you, it never leaves you... always in my head and ears THANK YOU

  • 17 dislikes? I think 17 people are just blind and therefore hit the wrong button.

  • @jacksonhansonjackson Just made it 600 likes! Take comfort in their minority votes!

  • The 17 people that put thumbs down are deaf.

  • @LeahandtheBanshees hahahahahahaha! :D

  • Awesome song. New Order at its finest. The vidoe makes sense in a dark, sad, and satirical way. Video of training for LAPD riot control in the 60's and everyone went green. Classic.

  • THE GENIUS OF NEW ORDER.

  • Just converted this baby to MP3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i was there,fuckin awsome!!....sorry to swear people,just the buisiness!!

  • Hi liebe New-Orderists!!!!

Wir alle wissen schon warum wir sie so lieben!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ein All Time Fave vom Feinsten von 1981....!!!!

Ich war 11.......und entdeckte sie erst 2 Jahre später dann "Live"....mit Blue Monday....!!!....Eine Liebe die bis heute währt....!!!

  • new order at there very best

  • Same. 12 Inch (so to speak) Awesome.

  • I think this is awesome. Bought the vinyl EP when it cmae out...

  • 'It seems like i've been here before- it seems like i've been here before' I know these words all TOO well.

  • LOVE this song!!!! One of their best (if it was possible to actually pick one)

  • first, i liked ceremony. then, i loved blue monday. but this... this tops both. this song is beyond epic. i love it<3

  • This video is a work of art...As for this track..New Order at their best.

  • One of my favorite NO singles...

  • To me still one of the best New Order songs.

  • what a mindblowing song from New Order, another track that remains to good old times in BFBS with John Peel - RIP John, miss you so much, never missed any of your session in these days :-(

  • fantastic!!

  • I have this on seven inch. It has a crappy recyclable sleeve!

  • New order at their finest!!! FUCKIN TUNE!!!!

  • Take

    Over

    The

    Palace

The Busy Bodies and Douche Bags are Asleep at the Gates.

  • @jamesfromwimbledon No, don't look at them - they don't warrant any validation

  • Who are the 16 idiots who disliked this groundbreaking piece of awesomeness??

  • lame disco for divas act? i'm sure that means something far more offensive than what is actually said. i like all periods of N.O. music btw.

  • 15 people have gone green.

  • i cant control my feet!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • this song is amazing.

  • The video is endorsed by the Tea Party, the song isn't. #Showme

  • @mickdimas typical trash

  • @mickdimas Hahaha - right on!

  • I miss 2006

  • Comment removed

  • How can anybody think of this awesomeness? The bassline is PERFECT and the guitarline, though repetitive is just crazy. And still so simple.

Great album, from a great band.

  • Best New Order track along with Turn the heater on.

  • i'm a little impressed that the police crowd is integrated. this ain't from the south, that's for certain.

  • WHY couldn't they have followed this direction? Why did they renounce this toughness and become a lame, disco-for-divas act?

  • @litlgrey who cares, it wouldnt have been the same anyway. Those were Ian's feelings in those songs, not theirs. I'd rather ask why he killed himself in the first place

  • @StrokedGT I know what you're saying, but... you're talking about material from 1981 here, not Ceremony/In a Lonely Place from the previous year, which Curtis of course wrote. As for why... I'd say between his widow's book, New Order's statements, and the various film treatments, they've all explained it quite well. He was depressed about his increasingly out of control epilepsy, and scared about the New York gig. Plus, he seemed a bit unhinged anyway.

  • Wasn't Ian Curtis' Vox phantom special supposedly used on this track?

  • 'movement' to 'power, corruption, lies' was my favorite NO period. they still had the ghost of Ian inside of their music. you can hear it. and then they took off.

  • Dancing my sweet bottom off..

  • bought this when it was first released back in 82 i think it was.Still sounds the fucking bollocks!

  • Ausome, yea....

  • Wow so fuckin ahead of its time. Everytime i listen to this (and there has been a few )i swear i hear something new each time.

  • It doesn't get much better than this.

  • Fantastic video and song! Nothing like New Order and police weapon demonstrations...

  • A factus song that still sounds fresh to this day......nearly 30 years later. Barneys finding his range and backing of hooky are almost Beachboys like. How come Al Gore or Ed Begley Jr. doesnt play this as a theme song? Everythings gone green?

  • It's good to see that this song is not forgotten.

  • awesome

  • Damn, I m dancing in my seat...

  • This sounds very similar to Blue Monday, but when I first heard "True Faith" only a few days ago, that quickly became my best song, just beating The Cure's "Disintegration".

  • I cant get over how awesome the guitar is in this song.

  • Great song , Great Band , Good Video work ..thanx man

  • Help me somebody- help me

    LOVE THIS SONG!

  • great video.NEW ORDER reminds me old good times.

  • Best song in the Hacienda in 83 so cool. What a tune. Here some more cool music from Liverpool band Shack on my channel or go to their website Shacknet thanks : )

  • good sound on this clip, and it seems like the same version I heard years ago when all the band members walked off one at a time leaving the drummer to end the song. It ran for twice to three times as long as this version. I would love ti know how to get a copy of that clip?

  • @kazon351 Yes, pleease...

  • Ian would have been proud.

  • @HawK047 indeed! great musicians, geniuses really, and a past of conscious decisions. so the stories and the angst of which they sang touch(ed) so deeply all of us - except for those with no musical sensibility at all, the kind that dislikes a profound aesthetical work like this one. ian would be so so proud indeed.

  • @HawK047 No he wouldn't have!..he fucking quit the band and life..why? because he was a drugged up scared little boy who had success right there for the taking and chose to die! New Order sucked with Curtis..they never would have been around as long as they were with his lame self loathing emo before emo was emo bullshit . He did them a huge favor. Ian Curtis couldn't sing his way out of a wet paper bag. Curtis had nothing to do with New Order's success..he quit everything..that's that.

  • @bornflippy1 How the fuck can you comment on someone you have never known, never understood, never stepped in their shoes. For some, suicide is an easy option, pray to whoever, you dont ever feel the same way.

  • @TynesideCelt So because someone who has a modicum of fame decides to cash it in and take their own life it means we should martyr them and make them out to be more than they were? I think not. did you know him? did you walk in his shoes? I think not..I was talking about the affect Emo Curtis's suicide had on the future of his former band ...I am not some soppy milquetoast follower wannabe that idolizes some douchebag for being ultimately selfish..I stand by my post.

  • NEW ORDER is a sharp removal from Joy DIVISION....both endeavors are creative , however NEW ORDER is impactful on todays dance and art scene whereas Joy DivisIOn is a keychain everyone wants to TOUT like they made it up !!!

  • Pure brilliance. This song's dark energy was a perfect club enhancement, in a time of the greatest club (and underground) music of all time.

  • This was the very first 12'' record i bought everythings gone green n i thought it was an excellent record then i found out that they where Joy Division before they where New Order,I bought a few Joy Division LP's and a few New Order LP's,Ive lost the LP's as ive had a lot of living ,I started when i was 15 am 43 now.All i have to say is they where brilliant when they where Joy Division and they are brilliant now,An excellent group and u will always be a brilliant group in my eyes

  • For anyone who DJs, this is the best song to play right after you get the feeling everyone is fucked up enought to still dance and not fall over themselves. Perfect for 1:45 AM. Outstanding song!

  • A perfect mix between Joy Division & New Order!

  • I bought this single when it was first released! oh the memories!

  • One of my favorite New Order songs. It's timeless.

  • Mmmm a CIA training demo from the 50/60'sGreat idea! Nice work Factory!

  • This is early 1960s, and looks like non-lethal weapons training for Los Angeles Police Department. For me a foreshadowing of late 1960s partial revolution and the State's attempts to limit it.

  • trust the man in the black suit with sunglasses

  • extremna stvar!!

  • It's pretty damn amazing that NO managed to keep going after Ian Curtis died. Kudos to them :)

  • One of their best. Years ahead of their time for sure!

  • Ma è identica a Blue Monday , grande canzone comunque.

  • Seens to be fun. i want to practice throwing smoke and tear gas grenades.

  • One of their BEST in my opinion !!..

  • Awesome tune. Awesome band.

  • I first heard this the year before last year and it was like discovering the true meaning of life. Definately New Order at their usual best.

  • I like the new audio quality module on mp4ify. Great site 2 download mp3s or mp4s from youtube.

  • Wow!!!!! Thanks for posting! Somehow I've never seen this video!

  • always fresh... that's it!

  • always sounds fresh to me, always good

  • This is Martin Hannett at his best. I think his production / sound effects work perfectly here to turn half an idea into something quite mesmerising.

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!

  • @69down They were the elder statesmen of new wave and technipop. Layed the groundwork for everyone else who followed.

  • They went back to sounding like Joy Division on this one. Love it!

  • a year after the passing of JD's singer.

  • He was Ian Curtis. Died May 1980 after hanging himself in his house. He was epileptic and close friends said he was also paranoid/schizo eventhough he was not officially diagnosed. BTW in 1980 the music world lost Ian Curtis, Jon Bonham, and Bon Scott. 10 years before that the Joplin/Morrison/Hendrix triple disaster. No, he was not 27 but 24 at the time. That would make even more ironic if he was in fact 27 when he died.

  • @nate51778 i wouldn't say that but it's a good mix of joy division's sound (their past) and new order's sound (their present and future)

  • Ah, the New World Order and everything's gone eco GREEN!

    It's almost here.

  • @zsdgvjknxd I know, right? I'm predicting that the company who becomes most successful in the near future with alternative energy will use this one as their theme song.... if they're smart.....

  • New Order's best song!

  • Blue MOnday you had your attention and we're proud of you - but this is THE GREATEST SONG OF ALL TIME!

  • Yeah, that is I Call Music!!!!

  • So good, so good , so good. Any opportunity to give the right air time is a good time. I feel so much better the guns/batons are looking after us!!! Good times, brought to you in the USA by Carl Rove, Inc.

  • The name " joy division " actually DID come from the nazi camps, so why don't you get a fuckin brain and take some further history lessons yourself as you don't have a fucking clue!!

  • I love NO, but this clip really sucks,......like the one they recently did for Ceremony - pointless and not even very good....

  • Got to agree with you there...I love the temptation video though. Victoria Bergsman is so cute.

  • This is a great clip, unofficial it is.

  • @occupiedmexico

No, it's official... Michael Shamberg did a lot of videos for New Order, but it was unreleased except on his website.

  • Oh, thanks very much, I normally Google or Wiki these things....

  • @Spotnick2 michael is a really cool guy, when i asked him what was the best party he has ever been to, he said, it was when he had finished with new order their first video and they wanted to celebrate and called some friends in manchester - and they came with two busses, all on ecstasy ;) unfortunately he is very sick now.
