  • i like at 1:50 to 1:58 the strings sparkle

  • It's rare that a bassist is the top headliner in a band, but Who cares.

  • John Entwistle is just too fucking cool for smiling.

  • 1:27 the pick ups burst to flames

  • anyone know what bass he's using?

  • @simon1994100 Custom made carbon fiber. I don't recall the manufacturer, but I do know it's the only one.

  • @simon1994100 It's a Status Graphite buzzard bass, I don't know how many were made. Warwick now owns the rights to the the buzzard bass, same style, but with a lesser quality.

  • HOLY FUCK.

  • John at 3:44 : WTF!! wait!! It was the soundcheck!

  • With Cliff Burton, they are the Gods of bass.

"Un hombre muy silecionso en la vida pero muy ruidoso en el escenario".

  • The absolute best bass player who ever lived! Entwistle, you are missed.

  • AMAZING!!! JESUS CHRIST I NEVER KNEW HE WAS THAT GOOD!! Ringo's son on drums ehh?

didnt know he played with them either.

  • @BarryKunz64 Yes John Entwhistle was Incredible

  • The best bass solo ever

  • @MrMatgz Trujillo's actually a pretty incredible funk bassist. Metallica is holding him back SOOOOOOO much.

  • @MrAxelTrouble yeah your right trujilo has the funk and is wasted on them, but gene simmons is balls though haha ;)

  • @MORGAN1992FREEM4N Agreed lol. I love KISS but let's face it, skills as a business man do not a good musician make.

  • @MrAxelTrouble yeah big love for kiss but hey plenty of great bands have shit bassists ;)

  • R.I.P.

  • did John ever play a fretless?

  • @MrMatgz and Flea bass solo \m/

  • @MrMatgz

    ... must be...

  • "typewriter style" @2:50 best video footage I've ever seen of it.

  • Best bass guitarist in the history of EVER.

  • I cannot find the words to describe that.

  • !!! MAESTRO DE MAESTRO !!!

  • does this really upset any other bassists out there ?

  • John Entwistle and Steve Harris BASS GODS

  • que descanse en paz el Ox

  • @RogellParadox era un fenomeno me encanta la forma de tocar el bajo es y sera de los mejores o el mejor tocando el bajo

  • @MrMatgz Gene Simmons yes, but Robert Trujillo is actually quite a good bass player. His Metallica stuff doesn't do him justice. Listen to his Infectious Grooves stuff.

  • @cfredrics I couldn't agree more, Trujillo needs to get the f*ck out of there!

  • now is my turn to shine!! *pluck*.. fail

  • 50 million notes at once, says Roger...and he's part of the reason why Pete Townshend is deaf, and The Who is/was in the Guiness Book, as the loudest band.

    Happy 67th John, and RIP!!

  • @cfredrics Yes he does have a hipshot bass xtender, i dont think any artist would take the time in the middle of a solo to detune a guitar or bass during an extended solo, in fact go search his gear up on google, and click the first link and go down to the 1996-2002 section and it has all the details about this bass, the status buzzard, not the warwick one, and you'll find out all about it, the tuning peg is even a different color then the rest, you'll see it

  • @BioBassist I am not quite sure how hipshots work (I dont have them on any of my basses), but if my memory serves, they have a button next to the gear which drops it down to a D. In this video, John is clearly playing with the tuner while strumming the two low strings on his bass. You can even see the tuner twitch. Also, he is using his Status bass which does not have a hipshot.

  • @cfredrics here's the info on his status bass,

    1996-2002

    Bass

Status Graphite Series 1 and Series 2 Buzzard basses

    One-piece, all-graphite body

Graphite neck (with slimmer profile than the Warwick Buzzard’s neck)

    26-fret phenolic fingerboard

Hipshot Bass Xtender (for instant drop-D tuning)

    Weigh approximately 9 lbs.

All fitted with different coloured hardware so John and techs could tell them apart (e.g., one gold tuning key with three black; all gold; black with chrome; all chrome; etc.)

  • @BioBassist I stand corrected.

  • @cfredrics and its a lever, not a button by the tuning head

  • I cant stop watching this, insane triplets, fast tapping riffs, his typewriter style of playing and the hipshot d-tuner, no one i know of has used one of those in the middle of a solo, they tend to go out of tune, but entwistle could pull it off, and the end with that little walking bass line, entwistle is truly an inspiration, and thank you AAShane for downloading the hi def version of this

  • @BioBassist I don't think that he uses a hipshot. I think he just de tunes by ear.

  • @HackerGuitarist What the hell man? wow, Gene Simmons was inspired by John, so if anything i'd listen to the inspiration first, (not to mention he was the first to really come out with that legendary lead sound) Gene is just another bass player, not to mention that he is completely overrated, as for John wasn't nearly as narcassistic as that cheese puffed hair, make up wearing, (nothing against them but) jewish douche, you honestly have to be a troll and a fail one at best

  • sorry but gene simmons solo's, blows this away, check some of the vids out

  • @HackerGuitarist you MUST be fucking kiddin me... plz tell me u are

  • @HackerGuitarist gene simmons is complete shit compared to this

  • @MrSubject32 i think gene is great but compared to the OX??????

  • @diagreen THE OX IS THE BEST BASSIST THE WORLD

  • God... Take care of John =D

  • Definitely the best bassist EVER.

  • tssssss eso si es un SOLO!!!!!!
