1st generation alpha the last great foden (i no its a paccar) drove em myself on steel merlin distribution c10 cat with eaton box (cable operated) burdlip hill let it lug down to 1100 rpm block change from top to 6th none of this half a gear full gear half a gear crap ive drove most trucks out there since the 80,s and nothing comes close to the pulling power of the cat much respect ATVB Andy
hello from canada! i tell you friend,...im not a man for european trucks...i grew up on kenworths and peterbilts and the like...but that foden of yours really catches my eye! i love how bright all the euro trucks are ...very nice videos keep them up!
The company where I work uses mainly scanias, I loved it when we got ERFs in, nobody else would drive them which meant I could keep the same truck everyday (unusual in my firm) I loved them!
ahh brings back memorys , a real drivers truck , makes me wish i was back driving again , till i remember how bad it was thats the job not the truck , like to see some of these new drivers in one and see how many get out of the yard without crunching the box
How many gears on that tractor? I'm used to 10 on my Freightliner. Not much of a gap between back of sleeper and front of trailer. I'm guessing because of the narrow streets and tight turns in Europe.
First proper class 1 truck I ever drove was a Foden on a H reg back in 92!!! It had an Eaton Twin-Splitter and Rolls-Royce (Perkins) engine, i fell in love with it !!!! LOL... Big learning curve for me back then, I was absolutely gutted when it was replaced with a Scania a few years later !!!! LOL
Although, to be fair, I briefly drove a Volvo F16 followed by & Scania 168 on European work and they were truly terrific trucks, bundles of power, very easy to drive. Will always have a soft spot for the Foden though !!!
hows it work then do you own the unit as an owner driver or do you work for a general haulage company either way youve got great looking truck sounds ace too
