The animator of this clip also drew four similar cartoons, with the same creatures forming *letters* (O, S, W and Y)...so when this cartoon showed them forming a *number*, I was a bit surprised. (The first time I remember this clip airing on TV, it was in the "Little Big Bird" episode at the end of Season 36; it's got to be newer than the others.) Four stars!
I don't know of any users with those clips, but I recall seeing them in the early to mid-1990s (before "Elmo's World" existed). I'd never seen the "20" one back then, though, which is why I thought it was new.
You know,I think you *may* be right that this is one of the newer ones. This is still shown today but the letter segments aren't anymore.I think CTW retired them.
I just saw the "W" variant of this skit about 10 minutes ago. Was there an "18" clip? I've onlys seen the numbers 19 and 20.

I remember that I watched with my nieces O, W and 18. Does anyone remember 18? Well I was previously in Muppet Wiki.

neat animation, but Sesame Street had definetly lost that creative genius fun feel by this point.

Nope,this is from the mid 90's.Approximently 1996.

It must not have appeared that often; then again, 20 is pretty rare as a number of the day.

BTW,do you know if they still air the letter segments with these creatures today?I haven't seen them in quite a while.
wattamack4 4 years ago
I did see the W and S clips a few years back; like you, I hope Sesame Workshop didn't retire them.

What year do you remember seeing those two clips? And do you know any users with those clips?

I saw the S version as recently as last week (during a Season 38 rerun), so they aren't retired--just pretty rare now.
