Ugh the entire mix sounds bad... The cymbals are too quiet, vocals are too overpowering, guitars sound terrible... toms are way too loud too. And you can't even hear the bass guitar...
are the MDMs suitable for everything? I play everything from punk to metal to jazz, and I may be getting a deal with TRX but I'm unsure which line to get
@Drummerkid74 they a good for just about anything. The only problem I have is that they a a bit heavy for me. I have started playing Meinl Byzance traditional cymbals and they are the best cymbals I have had. But it you are looking for something cheaper trx are good and even better are "Dream Cymbals" A Plea For Purging's drummer uses dreams and loves them.
I also own my own studio, this stuff is old, and I have better gear since. I will maybe to drums with guitar as a scratch track, but I usually track guitar first to a click then drums then whatever. It's all about what you a comfortable with.
I do everything, and I know my vox are week, haha thats cause I tracked them in my house one night and was trying not to wake anybody. The song are just rough ideas until I track them for real. My real band is called By His Blood. I get a good deal with trx. They will sign just about anyone, but only bigger band get the attention and service. I an shopping around and will probably get different cymbals, but they are good for the price!
Just some helpful critisizm directed towards your singer. I think he really needs to BELT OUT the words, put some power behind it. It just seems like the vocals are a bit thin. ^.^
When you get endorsed do you still have to pay for the cymbals? They offered me an entry level deal that was like half price but it was still SUPER expensive, so I asked just to wait until they wanted to offer me a full deal
Same thing happened to me man, for the price they offer I can get a sick A custom or yu know a main stream name cymbal. I decided not to substitute quality over name.
its not really hard just play alot of shows so you can get their name out, thats their goal. and you can get a pretty awsome cymbal for a decent price.
@Drummerkid74 very rarely do you get anything for free...unless your a huge name in drumming you still pay. i talked to Matt Greiner of ABR just last spring and hes got a Zildjian deal but still pays for cymbals.. i mean they cut prices down but very rarely is it free.
I'm sorry but why would you want a rack tom that small?

How is the crash sound of the 22" trx? Not on recording. I'm getting one but I want to talk to someone who has it first

when i was in the studio you lay down drum tracks first, not last

How do you get your toms to sound like that? I can't do it for the life of me. Can't get short sustain. Do you crank the bottom head?

@RadioJack Tape and/or Moongel. That stuff works wonders.

how is the crashing of the 22 mdm ride?
its not too heavy is it? just like a big crash?
because i was either getting the 22 and 21 mdm rides or 22 and 21 brt crashes or the LTDs
drummerathlete7 2 years ago
why not play with BRTs? just wondering...i love them!!
