  • I can tell you are an accomplished metalworker by the quality of the machine in all its aspects, from the design to the welding job. I hope you will have plans available for sell some time soon.

  • Are the plans any nearer completion? ...... thanks

  • Capital A for Awesome.

  • Fantastic. Reminds me a lot of the UNI Grinder...

  • ohhh she's so pretty, I want 7.......

  • Update......... I just shot some new video to post up and will edit in the next couple days. I have all the plans pretty much finished, just need some cleaning up. They are only two dimensional at this time, but will continue to work on them.

    Regards, JD

  • Having some PC issues while trying to edit video. Going to load win 7, and downloaded Power Producer 9. Hopefully I'll be up and running soon. MD

  • where did you get the steel tubing?

  • I just watched your other video. This is an amazing grinder. I am curious where you sourced your parts. I understand that you are busy but if you could take the time to chat with me about it that would be great.

  • @taiden grizzly catalog has a 10 inch wheel for around 87.00 or so. just look up their knife grinders and their other grinders and go to the parts page. the idler wheels on their 2x27 grinder are available for around 25.00. You will need a 1.75" OD bearing to us them tho. I am going to try using them as the power and tracking wheels.

  • In the video, I was using a 2" x 72" belt.

  • Here is some general info that some have asked for. I misplaced my binder with all my info, but it turned up yesterday. The grinder has a 2hp, 1800 rpm motor, 6" drive wheel in back, tracking wheel is 3 1/2 x 2 1/2, rubber contact wheels are 2", 3" and large one is 8". Hope this helps........

  • great machine, looks easy to adjust, i was in the belt business for most of my life abrasive belts remove metel 10 times quicker than bonded wheels, can i suggest to keep dust to a minimum you arrange a tank with water in just under the contact wheel this takes all the sparks and dust you also have somewhere to quench your metal after grinding, belt machines produce a lot of debris and dust in workshops and the wet tank stops this you only need a couple of pints of water to get good results

  • I know you said you've been busy, but I'd also like to get some basic plans for this too.

Very nice design and very flexable for many more setups.

    Thank you

  • Hey all...... I'm working on plans!!!! (and a better video) Will be forthcoming with

some info that has been requested also. Sorry to be dragging my feet. I have been

super busy these last two years.

  • Thanx for the vid. Just great tool! I'll must make one for my workshop

  • Thanks for the videos. I should have looked at this video before I asked on part 2 about a walk around. Thanks.

  • amazing, simply amazing

  • isnt it a shame the amount of awesomeness that will be confined to any single person at any given time.

of coarse this massively talented entity, whom ambitions enough to complete such a device will almost surely not have the time to create the detailed plans that so many of us would relish to get a hold of.

And such misfortunes happen all the time.

  • Wow...Guess I don't know how to take this one! I'm one of those guys that has to do everything myself, so I have little or no time to have a life. I am on the other hand close to finishing a project at home that will free up my life again. I do plan on making up some cool plans that I was thinking of selling on ebay or something just to cover my time. ( few bucks) Would like to make plans and video to go with. I have made some more improvements to the grinder and have a few more planned. JD

  • Great looking machine - and if your passing out plans I would like a set!

  • nice grinder! Where did you come up with the wheels.. Been searchin for a good price

  • Thats one slick machine you've built yourself.....good job.

  • man that's great work .. keep it up

  • Great grinder. I love how you made the issues with changing the drive belt on the 3 speed a non-issue! Great engineering.

  • Looks awesome, would love to have a set of plans for it.

  • Thanks! I have a to much on the table right now, but in the next couple months I'll put something together. Take Care!

  • Do you share the plans?

  • Well........ The plans are in my head. I guess I could provide pictures and measurements etc. It is one of those build as you go deals. Build one part, then work on the next designing as you go on the fly.

    JD

  • Thanks Much!! Was a bit of a pain to make, but well worth the effort! Super Happy with it.

  • This is THE best presentation of a homemade KMG grinder on youtube!! You've built a very nice machine there.

  • Nice work
