I think that is an irrelevant debate to be having also when it comes to Pixies and Nirvana. Pixies were without doubt a huge influence and pioneers of the sound and Nirvana did their own thing with it and Kurt who is up there with Moz, Stipe and Johnny Rotten as somebody who just does their own thing so well. I don't think you can talk about one being better than the other...for me it's like Sabbath versus Metallica it's a pointless argument.
