not very good review edge them backlight? confusing try comparing to the nx713u i think the nx723 is the next model up

@MrRdt1970 The NX713 is a 2010 model the NX723 is a 2011 model. They are both edge lit ie top and bottom lit and use a light dispersion sheet to spread the light evenly across the panel. All led tvs this year are edge lit, even Samsung D8000 (the other D8000 is plasma). The only full led backlit tv this year is the Sony HX923 and LG LW980T. However they all use LCD panels only the backlight is changed from the older CCFL backlight that used to be used. Hope this helps.

@yamaha0113 the nx713u is 2011 uk or released here in UK aaround feb/march of this year the nx723 is a refresh model offering 200mhz
as for d8000 these sets c8000 in particular are terrible sets suffering from clouding only alot of consumer dont see this issue as the problem can only be seen in a dark room. buying samsung sets has educated me in just how bad these tvs are. although must say the sony nx 713 for me gave the better picture :)

@MrRdt1970 The NX713 was released January 2010, it was part of the 2010 Sony line up and features the BRAVIA 3 engine the NX723 is part of the 2011 line up and features the new X Reality engine. The NX713 was still available 2011 (in comet still) but production stopped by December 2010, any left is remaining stock. The D8000 is pretty bad your well rid.
