  • this is a very good explanation love it

  • i want to buy a 40 inch samsung led, will be used for tv and gaming. Is 60 hz enough?

  • @RevelationGJS It’s really a matter of personal preference. Samsung makes quality panels so even the 60 Hz models should have no motion-blur issues for regular TV and gaming applications. Personally, I prefer at least 120Hz for Blu-Ray movies which helps eliminate the “3:2 pull-down” processing that’s required for film based content on a 60 Hz display. • @crutchfieldtv i decided to go with the LED 120 hz model UN40D6000, it's $150 extra. thanks

  • thank you very much. Can i please ask u if u've tested or know anything about the panasonic vierra VT25. It's the 50 inch 3d plasma from panasonic that i am really interested in. Just really need to be sure about it though, since the price tag is still $1600. Thanks for reading and looking forward to hear from u

  • @fezzie666 Sorry, we do not offer the “VT25” series at the moment. I can tell you that the “GT30” series that we do offer is available at a great price and garnering quality reviews. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield

  • Hey so if I get a 120hz TV would.3d appear as 60hz?

  • @Brolyy07 You got it. So, if you want the smoother motion of 120Hz in 3D (especially from your 3D Blu-ray movies), you would want to select a model that offers the 240Hz frame rate (120Hz for each eye). Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030---Crutchfield

  • What Sony bravos should I get 120hz 3d or 240hz 3d?

  • @Brolyy07 Both are good, but the 240Hz would provide smoother motion (especially for your Blu-ray 3D movies) by producing 120Hz for each eye. Feel free to call for additional assistance: 800.315.0030---Crutchfield

  • i need help does sony Motionflow XR 960 is it refreshing the image or is just fooling with are eyes

  • @XZ1PB The “XR 960” from Sony is a simulated frame rate. The models that offer this feature use a combination of the panel’s 240 Hz (the actual frames per second) and the synchronized backlighting to simulate the 960 Hz effect. • I'm sorry, but I was convinced that Refresh Rate on LCDs doesn't affect the blur/flickering, but only on CRT (I believe) TVs.

And my monitor (LCD) has the Refresh Rate only up to 75 Hertz (on a 1440x900 resolution). Is that ok?

    Great video, and great tutoring!

  • @TheBandicootCrash

Thanks for watching, and your kind remarks about our video. I'm sure 75 Hz isn't hurting anything on your monitor, but I'm not familiar with a monitor that can be set to that specific refresh rate.

  • hey Steve do you know the differences between Motionflow Pro 240hz and the new Motionflow XR 240 that is available in EX 3dtv models :)

  • @limonada46

Motionflow Pro 240Hz technology quadruples the frame rate from the standard 60 frames per second and applies Image Blur Reduction technology to deliver a crisp, fluid and realistic viewing experience during fast-action scenes.

The newer MotionFlow XR 240 technology combines 120 frames-per-second with an advanced backlight blinking system to simulate a 240 Hz effect.

This info is available for each model on the Crutchfield website.

  • @crutchfieldtv Thanks :) and is there too much difference between both?

  • @limonada46

Pro 240Hz is more effective, and truly refreshes the image 240 times per second.

  • @crutchfieldtv so its better to get the older Motionflow pro 240hz instead of the newer models with XR 240?

  • @TheGarvito

Well, yeah, as far as that specific technology goes, the Pro 240HZ does a better job than XR 240.

    Need help deciding?

  • Thanks Steve! :D

  • It was not mentioned that higher refresh rates can cause undesirable artifacts in the image.
