  • my body is fucked, i have poor circulation in my feet, i used to eat SH*T loads of junk food as a teenager now i get extremely tired at work especially after lunch, i also suffer from a lot of ingrown hairs which i think could be related.

  • i wish you were my dad or hubby and telling me the things i need to know as i need

  • you are very repetitious

  • watch?v=FSJ_rhJuxYE&feature=watch_response

  • Im only 26 and I have a desk job for 8 years now, my blood sugar is 58 at the end of the day. I do mild exercise, I have gained 40 lbs in 6 mnths. Exercise would be the best?

  • Well, i did actually a lot for the past 6 months to try and get healthier - get rid of the crazy migraines that were haunting me 2-3 times a week sometimes, and i had to kill them with prescription drug "Maxalt" otherwise they were "killing" me.

I started to eat healthier (no processed, raw organic whole foods) i didn't cut off my sugar intake though.

Yoga, Chiropractic - 3 times a week for 3-4 month. And i noticed less migraines. But i reduced my sugar just recently and i wonder are they gone?

  • Is sugar intake related to migraine?

I'm a slim person about 28 years old, never gained any significant weight, but truly i am a big sugar addict, i eat a LOT of sugar, i can go through my day with only sweets and i feel fine, sometimes i'm even surprised how am i able to work and have energy without really eating any good nutritious food. Well lately i decided to skip the sugar especially refined sugars and flowers. i noticed having less and milder migraines. What can you tell me about this?

  • While I agree with this video, it says nothing about preventing diabetes. I could've learned just if he would've simply said " diabetes is a disease caused by fat lazy junk food addict idiots. It's entirely their own damn fault. "

  • Thank you Dr. Bellonzi. I lost 35 lbs and stopped taking Glucophage and other heart medications since August 2010. I was diagnosed diabetic type II with acute heart failure due to enlargment. I am 46 years old male. I was depressed when my doctor told me that I should register for heart transplant and that I have to take medication for the rest of my life. I decided to exercise as a last ditch effort, but I came to believe that no medicine can cure your ailment except YOU just as you said.

  • SOME PEOPLE ARE BORN WITH THE CONDITION AND IT IS NOT SELF INFLICTED...... NOT ALL DIABETICS ARE FAT! TAKE MY GOOD FRIEND FOR EXAMPLE..... HE WAS BORN WITH DIABETES AND TO STAY ALIVE HE HAS TO TAKE INSULIN! HE IS THE MOST HEALTHY EATER I KNOW! HE'S 5FT. 4IN. AND 135... THAT IS HEALTHY FOR HIM!... SO STOP TALKING TO THE DIABETICS LIKE THEY ARE ALL FAT BASTARDS WHO HAVE NO EATING CONTROL AND ARE STUPID DIM WITS WHO NEVER LAVE THERE COUCH!

  • @TishRRollings

you dont need to scream like that!!! he already adressed the diabetic type 1 people in the video who cant help it they were born like that, open ur friggin ears!

  • you are absolutely amazing...too good..happy to have found you.

  • You NEED to get a Facebook. Myspace is for kids and people looking for a date. Facebook is better suited for your needs Dr. I do very much appreciate this info. Im really looking for a great Dr like yourself that will coach me to get myself back to 110%. The Dr's Ive seen are useless... This video is prime example of why the internet should NO be ignored for education.

  • @Thedudeyouremailing I agree! When are you going to get a Facebook? My 17 year old son doesn't even like Myspace anymore :(

  • I would just tell te new generation eat fresh, use less fat, be active all day long is te best health & fitness guide.

  • This is a good hard hitting video. I have many friends that just down soda all day. They so no problem I will just take another pill and bring my blood sugar. Same thing with there eating. Just a bunch of garbage. You just can't tell them. They think it is just part of getting old. Thanks so much for this one. Maybe I can put a spark under them. Doug in Calif...

  • Thank God I've seen enough to be aware of bad food habit. I mean I've seen people taking literally buckets of ice cream, gallons of soft drinks regularly and ending up blind or even dead.

  • I'm not one to curse, but you're annoying as ****. "You didn't catch it. You did it to yourself." People understood it the first time you said it. There's no need to repeat. Aside from that, very informative video.

  • great person :)

  • This is fair enough for Type2 Diabetes but totally innapropriate for the "5%" of us who have Type 1 Diabetes. Thank god for the NHS.

  • Thank you doctor I like the way you explained it I have type 2 diabetes and yes I am changing the way I eat and very active it feels much better and I look and feel much better.

  • I have type 2 Diabets, but I also have PCOS, I know I have to watch my diet but

I still take an insulin shot. I can't take metphormen b/c it makes me ill that is why I take the insulin shot it is called Byetta. What are your thoughts on this

  • I have reactive hypoglycemia and found out about a year ago. I would be out drinking alcohol partying with friends and my skin turned white as a peice of paper and felt lethargic and tired and lost all energy, one time I fell on my bed and blacked out. Thats when I really got scared and started having anxiety like symptoms. I am trying to banish alcohol from my life now and eat healthy and monitor my sugar level carefully to avoid diabetes

  • I have reactive hypoglycemia but exercise intensely 5 times a week. I eat enough to gain muscle. I eat complex carbs like oatmeal, and wheat pasta all the time. I don't know how I became like this but I was starving during the summers, losing about 40 pounds each summer and then eating a lot to gain the weight back during school. All the while I was maintaining exercise. Summer I would run 5-10 miles daily and during school I lifted heavy. Could the periods of starvation start this?

  • @guitarobsessed85

diabetes is all about eating simple carbohydrates or sugars, eating for quick energy that was never used up.

  • @guitarobsessed85 - Oatmeal and pasta is very high in carbs and sugars. We were not meant to eat grain. Check out a paleolithic diet, see Arthur De Vanny or Dr. Richard Bernstein on you tube or his book Diabetes solutions.

  • @Catherine8raw I have returned my blood sugar reactions to normal (measured at the doc) by modifying my diet and incorporating running into my lifting routine. Previously I only lifted to gain maximal mass and I was eating ridiculous amounts of food. I still eat oatmeal but now it's steel cut. I no longer have bad reactions to sugar but I get sugar from mostly fruits, some from honey, and the rest from veggies and steel cut oatmeal. I also don't include dairy in my diet anymore.

  • @guitarobsessed85 - steel cut raw oats are good. Fruit especially unripe or hybrid is loaded with sugar. Fruit tends to increase blood sugars, raise uric acid etc... fruit is seasonal too. Wild honey? alot of beas are just fed cane sugar and honey is still very high sugar. Giving up dairy is good because it takes out s fat, IGF-1, estrogens and high phosphorus which will lower magnesium. Some starchy veggies are too hgh in sugar. A GLOCOSE MONITOR should help you out if you ever get stuck,

  • @Catherine8raw The honey I get is produced from sourwood. I also only eat organic foods. When I said veggies I meant: spinach, kale, carrots, peppers, onions, tomatoes (I know technically it's a fruit), cucumbers, swiss chard, etc. I don't eat white potatoes or corn. I will however eat yams and sweet potato which have a lower glycemic index but only on occasion. A low carb diet for me would be impossible because of my training regimen. I need lots of fruit just to sustain energy.

  • @Catherine8raw Good thank you. My blood sugars stay around 90. For about 3 months I've been eating vegan and since I have had a lot of problems go away. I had an inflammation problem in my joints and my Sedimentation rate was way too high before and now it's completely gone which baffled my doctor because that supposedly doesn't just disappear. I used to get bad acne. I have none anymore. Not to mention I dropped bodyfat to 5% according to my scale and fat calipers and even gained muscle

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw 90% raw. I still eat steel cut oats and beans (rarely) on occasion. My main diet consists of loads of fruit, nuts (many types including hemp, pumpkin, and brazil mostly), avocados, coconut water (not coconut milk), veggies, and homemade raw peannut butter. I do drink a lot of black, white, and oolong tea. Mostly black. My breakfast this morning was a blackberry, blueberry, and strawberry smoothie, with a lot of assorted nuts, and a tomato/pumpkin/carrot homemade juice. All organic

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw I never feel tired anymore but I think that's a combination of things I've changed in my life rather than just my diet. For example I meditate now and I do a lot more running where I used to focus only on lifting and building. I also sleep normal hours. But I do eat a lot of nuts though most people say you don't need to. I just like 'em. I drink the water from the coconuts and will sometimes snack on the meat. I consume both young and mature coconuts (about an even mix).

  • @Catherine8raw Well I was never really overweight, so for me it was never about changing that. I was always at around 10% bodyfat with significant muscle. I have mostly been concerned with my blood sugar problem (which started when I began consuming a diet very high in protein and sat. fat). I never had an extremely high carb diet. Right now I eat more carbs than ever and have more normal blood sugars. My health problems didn't disappear completely until I stopped eating meat.

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw I had a typical bodybuilder bulking diet. I would have about 120g of isolated whey protein a day, about 8 eggs, a lot of chicken and fish, and once a week I would consume beef. I also ate a lot of veggies, fruit. I would consume about 250 grams of carbohydrates a day, but remember I was also working out rigorously. I had about 10% bodyfat and 18 inch arms. I kept getting dizzy spells, headaches and tiredness. I got my blood sugar checked and found out I was reactive hypoglycemic.

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw Actually when I was cutting last summer I did try a high fat, low carb diet. I got really sick but I dropped to 6% bodyfat from 10%. I felt horrible all the time I was on it, which was 2 months.

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw I drank black tea and coffee to optimize fat burning. Black tea has the effect of raising testosterone levels by lowering the conversion to DHT, which was a plus for me since DHT cannot enter muscle cells and testosterone does enter the muscle cells and upregulates protein synthesis. Breakfast on my high fat diet consisted of a lot of nuts, olive oil on eggs. I consumed about 50g total of carbs a day. The whole time I felt like I had a fever and I felt dizzy and fuzzy headed

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw Animal fats contain high levels of dioxins, which are the most potent animal carcinogens that we know of. Saturated fats are important. If I had gone below 50g of carbs I would have been in a very bad state as I felt terrible and did not adapt to the diet even after 2 months. I didn't list everything I ate. I had fish, eggs, butter, etc on my high fat diet. I made sure my diet had fish oils back then. I feel much better now, I'm much healthier, my bodyfat is even lower.

  • @Catherine8raw Yes I started off trying the paleolithic diet. It was fine but I still had health issues on it. I like my vegan diet because I am where I want to be finally, physically and mentally. I am sharper. My memory never fails me anymore. I have more muscle mass and lower bodyfat. I don't get ill anymore. I'm not missing any nutrients. It is a well planned vegan diet including all vitamins and minerals from natural sources including all the B's. It works so I don't plan on changing it

  • @Catherine8raw In the final stages of lymes it's actually your own immune system that is doing the damage. The Spirochetes are out of your system. This happens because some of the antigens (protein markers on the outside of the cell) on the spirochete are very similar to those on your ligaments and in some of your nervous tissue (sometimes this includes the brain). Your body will therefore create auto-antibodies (antibodies that attack your own cells). It is a sort of auto-immune condition

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw Melatonin is also neuroprotective, but it raises your white blood cell level. I hope to God you're on antibiotics if you're still in the second stage.

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw They have antibiotics which can kill the cyst form. Besides it goes into the cyst form not only because of antibiotics but because of your immune response as well. This is why there are relapses over the course of many years. The cyst form causes no symptoms but when conditions are favorable they will emerge from the cyst form and cause symptoms again. I still recommend antibiotics

  • @Catherine8raw You won't be able to change your ratios of leukocytes through diet. You can raise overall wbc levels though. Your ratio is mostly genetically determined. Some diseases will lower certain types but that's about the extent of it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw Boosting the immune system in this state can actually be bad for you. Vitamin D on the other hand regulates your major histocompatibility complex allowing your immune system to differentiate between foreign cells and your own cells with greater accuracy.

  • @Catherine8raw My advice to you is the same as it would be for anyone. Get exercise, proper nutrition, and proper medical advice. By proper I mean you must seek out a competent doctor with a good reputation. Not all doctors are equal

  • @Catherine8raw I also advise you to go to a Naturopathic Doctor.

  • @Catherine8raw I strongly recommend antibiotics. I can't stress how important they are to you at this stage. You will not have to take them for long and your immune system will strengthen once you have stopped taking them. I know the dangers but sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks. This is one of those cases. Your body will repair easily once you have finished the regimen. Please take them. I know a person who didn't because he didn't like western medicine

  • @Catherine8raw He's a crazy bastard. Decided not to do anything about it. He never had any yeast in his throat or otherwise that he ever showed signs of or mentioned.

  • @Catherine8raw It actually turns on and off many genes that control your immune system. This suppresses part of your immune system while boosting other parts.

  • @Catherine8raw It's funny. I live in Maine where we supposedly have a lot of lyme's disease cases. Most of my buddies have had it and I've never even had a tick bite. I've had ticks crawling on me before. My friends and I went into some high bush areas once and we each had about 30 or so on us, but I was the only one who had none bite me. Haha, I guess I'm just lucky but I still think it's odd because I go hiking at least twice a month.

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw Haha well I love garlic but I don't eat much of it. It's funny that you mention lice because everyone in my school got it when it went around as a kid but I would never them. Even when my brothers did. I actually don't smell bad haha. Most people say I smell amazing. I use organic lavender oil, organic lavender soap, organic tea tree and lavender shampoo, and organic lavender detergent to wash my clothes. So I basically smell like lavender all the time. It was always my favorite

  • @Catherine8raw Vitamin D is probably your main issue. You should try to get out in the sun. If you're Caucasian you should be out in the sun for 30 mins a day. If you're dark skinned you need more because melanin blocks the UV rays needed to make vit. D. Eat mushrooms. They have Vit. D2 which is converted in the body. They also stimulate the immune system in other ways. Vit. D is needed for your major histocompatibility complex to function. low fat is bad but high fat is bad too.

  • @Catherine8raw Your welcome for all the information. It doesn't frustrate me to discuss diets. Any nutrient deficiency will cause the immune system to lower. That is why I got really sick on my low carb diet. I'm sensitive to carbohydrate changes. On the other hand. My diets have never really been low in fat. I have always included lots of nuts and seeds so I have always had a high level of fat in my diet. Hemp milk is something I make and drink a lot of. I have coconut milk in shakes too

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw @Catherine8raw I know shiitake and agaris bisporis (white table mushroom) have high amounts after being exposed to UV for a brief period of time. I don't know of maitake but I would assume since most mushrooms do. I found that out in my Biochemistry class actually. There are too many things to list. Vitamin D modulates the immune system. It up-regulating parts of your immune system and down-regulate other parts. Sorry to hear about lymes, a couple of my friends went through that

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw Memory loss caused by a reduction in white matter with Lyme's patients. White matter is responsible for memory association rather than storage of memories. This is very unfortunate. I'm very sorry. I can recommend some things that will help you generate new neurons. I don't know how to stop your auto-antibodies thought. Vitamin D will help your body to better recognize your own cells which should help significantly. The vitamin D we generate from the sun is the most important .

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw Yes I have heard of the Marshall protocol. Dr. Marshall Trevor developed it for Sarcoidosis.

  • @Catherine8raw I forgot to put "is" in the first sentence above. Lion's mane mushroom has been demonstrated to be a potent stimulator of Neural growth. You should be getting enough tryptophan in your diet to support formation of new neurons via the serotonin pathway. Tea contains mono-amine oxidase inhibitors which will raise dopamine and help you to retrieve your memories. Running will increase oxygen and survival rate of neurons as well.

  • @Catherine8raw Haha I know all about lymes. Microbiology is a requirement for a biology degree.

  • @Catherine8raw I also began to get sick more often where I had never really got sick before. My first instinct was to get checked for diseases that effect immune system, leukemia, hiv. I was cleared of those, but my doctor had done a full blood panel because of my severe joint pains to the point I couldn't walk. My erythrocyte sed. rate came back very high (suggests extreme inflammation). I decided to change my diet since it all started when I began the bodybuilding diet. It worked

  • Comment removed

  • @Catherine8raw I had seen a lot about vegan diets and the research being done, showing they had lower rates of almost every disease. I am a biologist and I have access to a lot of research for free. Medline, pubmed, etc. So now I have no health problems. I had a recent check up and I am in the perfect ranges for everything. They say on a vegan diet you become low in iron and such, but this isn't true for me. I have high normal potassium and iron. My endocrine hormones are all perfect

  • @Catherine8raw I went to school at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. I have a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry. I don't want to make it sound like I'm a doctor of Biology or anything. I didn't save all of the studies that I have read so I would have to search trough the databases again to find them. I'm not sure that I could link you because they require a pass-code but I could give you the names of some of the studies.

  • @Catherine8raw I know a lot about fat metabolism since I had a focus in biochemistry. I became very familiar with most of the metabolic pathways of fatty-acids. Fats are very important but eating excess fats won't make you healthier. You only need about 10% of your diet to be fats. There are only two essential fatty acids in the human diet (alpha linolenic acid and linoleic acid). All other fatty acids including Docosahexaenoic acid and Eicosapentaenoic acid can be made from these by the body.

  • If you have any genetic connection to the native americans you are very likely to develop Type 2 diabetes. Even very fit and thin people develop it. Chiropractors are not doctors. There are chiropractors that don't even have a high school diploma. Chiropractic school is more akin to trade school. Chiropractors do make a lot of money, a lot by selling crap that does not work, but gives the impression that it does. Usually food supplements, pillows, and other stuff.

  • Why are native americans so prone to it?

  • Probably due to the fact their diet wasn't originally so high in carbohydrates. It was more protein based. Europeans have had a longer tradition of high carbohydrate meals.

  • I get reactive hypoglycemia and take care of my body like a saint but.. I have had a past with tobacco and alchohol and cand adiction. Nothing serious but really used to intake these products im 27 and feel pre diabetic even though i take care of myseld. So the truth is once the damage is done to islet cells in your pancraeas it may be to late for tthe rest of your body.

  • No it's not too late. Your body needs to detoxify and that can take some time but be patient and stick with your healthy new lifestyle.

  • @auburn722 It takes a long time for your body to recuperate. Most times it takes a year to a few years for alcoholism alone. This is just to give you an idea of how long it can take the body to heal. Your beta-cells in your Pancreas are not the only part of your body that controls blood sugar. They could be completely healed but your other hormone systems that control blood sugars may not be.

  • Excellent informative video :)

  • this is decieving. I have eaten better than most in my life. Being born with diabetes or hypoglycemia happens all the time. If he doesn't know that, he doesn't get it!

  • @ dreamextreme7, you're nothing more then a number, true some are born with it and then there's the number who help create and escalate the problem...wouldn't you agree that this is possible?!?

  • sure. the vid just doesn't imply that. hypoglycemia is not simply caused by the individual. It would be nice if it was that simple. It can be strongly genetic. to imply otherwise shadows an important portion of the truth. Many people do acquire these issues via poor diet. These people should start eating right. It does become irritating however when you've had this issue at the age of five and people still insist this only occurred because you ate poorly. It's just not always the case.

  • Not only that dremextreme but he is one condescending bastard. Who would want to go see this schmuck? Look at the right column: he as a video titled "get off your ass". How about "Stop being such an asshole, Dr. schmuck!" I swear some youtubers are really asking for it! (Dr. Ass: consider me your mirror & your teacher!) :-P

  • He talked about this tipe of diabetes....

  • Thank You...Dr. Vince, may I post your videos on other channels linking to you?

  • Ohkay , I have tremors. Where my hands shake , sweaty, black outs, i get dizzy , and tired easily. My blood suger is low . My mother has me had peanutbutter on toast. My father has hypoglycemia and had his apendics removed for it i think?!?

and i might have it from his genes. I go to the doctors soon for school.

  • you should connect with me. I've worked on improving it much. If you don't take control of it, it will control you.. I don't black out but the shakes and fainty feeling are all too familiar. I'm doing much better now :) Never give up hope!

  • oh and by the way.. you have what's called reactive hypoglycemia. it's something different than what most MD's are familiar with :)

  • that's because is hereditary disease , their parents or grandparents were eating junk food or lots of alcohol or bad things and now their babies will have to suffer all their life and die prematurely because they had a shitty life, that's why..sad isn't?

  • I get that he says that you get diabetes from not taking care of yourself, but can't help but ask about the babies that are born with it?? They haven't even had a chance at a bad lifestyle?

  • Excellent video with hope for many. Do it yourself! A very positive DR. w/o drugs!! Yipppeee!

  • Thank You...Dr.

  • Dr. Vince, Your a smart man. It is the drug producers that make the money on these damaging drugs. The more you take these drugs the less you pancreas works making you more dependent on become on t emedication.

  • You should make sure that you mention type 2 diabetes.

  • Thankyou!!!!

  • well, basically it all comes down to being honest to your SELF, that means taking responsibiltiy for YOUR life. Much truth in this vid, thanks..

  • TY ty ty I needed 2 know that the power was in my hands. thx

  • diabetes is created? I guess genetic predisposition isn't a factor? My grandmother had it, my father had it, and now, I have it. I guess just a coincidence? Let me tell you, i ate healthy, exercised 2 hours a day, 3 days a week, for 15 years and I still ended up with diabetes. To say that diabetes is a choice is quite a narrow minded and un-educated view. Now I'm sure that you'd like to sell me some outrageously over-priced herbal remedies that say on the bottle not to treat any illness?

  • Anyone can develop diabetes type 2 if they eat the wrong foods constantly.

It use to be called "adult onset diabetes" because only adults got it now. Now children in the USA are developing because of our crap diet.

This is why diabetes and obesity are epidemics in the US right now.

And nope, there is no herbal remedy for diabetics type 2. It's prevented or controlled by eating the correct foods.

  • I ate the correct foods, aka, high protein/low fat, high fiber, veggies, fruits, ect. I haven't had a soda in probably more than a decade. I had an active lifestyle/job. All my stats. were 5/5. Then in one and a half months I went from 265 to 180 pounds. I did everything possible to avoid becoming diabetic for the fact that it runs in my family. That leads me to believe that diabetes is not caused by diet/activity alone. Genetic predisposition is the major contributing factor, not food.

  • May I ask are U a confirmed diabetic patient now? I hope not, anyway good job on your part.

  • I was happy to read that your not one of those magic herbal cure everything snake oil saleman. I'd like to apologise for my incorrect judgment regarding that issue. I am sorry.

  • @psychetruth - yes I agree, but I do realise that people inherit the nutrient values from relatives. In Diabetes Mg, Zn, Mn tends to be low, Cr, B3 etc... because of the refining processes. I also realise that what people think is healthy isn't... like packet foods, potato, wholemeal bread, hybrid fruits, lots of hybrid, starchy veggies.

  • I am not diabetic, but I think your comments are to simple and not accurate. Nowaltz could reverse his diebetes with high fat/protein diet but he obviously has a genetic tendency for it. Probably inheriting magnesium/omega 3 deficiencys, liver weakness.

  • @psychetruth I agree that one super healthy generation can eat the wrong food in one life time and get diabetes, and that genes maybe questionable. It seems to inhibit people from taking action, but I think if someone has a genetic constition for Diabetes (Type 2), it may mean they inherit weakness in the liver, maldigestion, FAULTY MITOCHONDRIAL FUNCTION and problems that make it hard to reverse simply. Supplements, herbs, high fat dieting (omega 3/Mg addressed), (Cu, Vanadium addressed)

  • There are 2 types of diabetes . Also you saying that you ate healthy maybe true it may not be. You may think that bread , potatoes , and rice is a healthy diet. When all those foods just become sugar in your body. Hence your eating sugar. I dont know what kind of diabetes but MOST people created diabetes in thier system.

  • I understand what you are saying. You are descibing the difference between simple sugars and complex sugars and i am. But, in my case, their is a family history hence diabetes is a hereditary/genetic disease and NOT just determined by diet alone. Plus, I've read a number of accredited medical studies that have said the exact opposite of what this man is saying here. I know I know, it's all just big corporate drug company propaganda wanting to keep us all sick so they can make money, right? :)

  • As mexican living in the mexican frontier whit USA, i know that you think eating white food is nutritious and correct, all gringos here in the usa site eat a lot of gravies, meats, white flours breads, butter, pies and lots and lots of bad foods, probably eating a whole grain sandwich for you is nutritious, probably eating two eggs for you are nutritious, but is not, in order to eat nutritious you have to eat lots of vegetables, none white food, none sugars, none greases or oils, litte meat

  • yes, you are correct, whole grains are best. I am aware of that. As for eggs, i do not eat them. Now, i want to ask you, do you know why grains, veggies, and fruits are "bad" when you are diabetic? Do you know why meats and specific fats are "good" when you are a diabetic? I am fairly well versed in proper nutrition especially now thanks to diabetes. So, as i had said before, I ate properly, exercised extensively for more than a decade and I developed diabetes. Diet can't be the sole cause.

  • @NoWattz Yeah listening when he speaks works. 8*) He was talking about Type 2 being created. Predisposition is more like Type 1.

  • An increasing number of genetic variants have been consistently found to contribute to the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Variants in the TCF7L2 gene appear to be associated with the highest risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, and also can predict the likelihood that a person will convert from a state of pre-diabetes to full-blown Type 2 diabetes. It is overwhelmingly obvious that genetics is a major factor in the development of type-2 diabetes. All you have to do is a little research. :)

  • @NoWattz A good diet will help reverse ANY diabetes. Check out You can cure diabetes by Gabriel coussens. OR Dr. Berstein Diabetes solutions. If you just sit there and blame genetics you may even end up blind wityh a leg amputated. Others have succeeded. See 30 days raw, etc. LOTS OF LOVE : )

  • Determining the legitimate cause of a disease and treatment of the disease are two different things. To say that diabetes is caused by genetics doesn't mean I will not seek a means to treat it. :) Over a period of time and with lots of experimentation, I have formulated a diet that works very well for me. All my spec.s are within normal limits and hopefully they will stay that way.

  • To say that one can "cure" diabetes simply by diet is misleading. It's like saying lactose intolerance can be cured by a non-dairy diet or a peanut allergy can be cured by not eating peanuts. Alleviating the symptoms of a condition does not mean the condition no longer exists. For example, I've been able to keep my diabetic symptoms under control for a while now by eating a modified diet. But, if i drink a soda, my BGL would blast off to 600. Obviously, I'm not cured, just controlled. :)

  • @NoWattz Do you have any research on diabetes?

  • @NoWattz I beleive this guy when he says...you created it. Sugar is in everything just about...you just had to monitor the sugar content of everything. People are just ignorant and think that they are invincible untill things happen to them. Be body healthy and food concious people, read labels.

  • @disasterousatm I agree, they even add it to ham, and tinned meat, even corn beef.

I noticed that even aspartame or sucralose can effect the blood sugar to some degree though.

  • @NoWattz predisposition does not equate to destiny. You didn't explain your view of healthy eating, but If your metabolic/nutritional type is less suited to eating carbohydrate then even a healthy apple (which has a high ratio of fructose to glucose) is probably not healthy for you. Other fruits such as berries, stone fruit, bananas have a higher ratio of glucose to fructose and are better overall but some people shouldn't eat so much of them.

  • You're correct in saying predisposition does not equate to destiny. We are all individuals. But to dismiss predisposition would be kind of foolish. Especially regarding family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, and so on. In regards to my view of "healthy eating", One can only share so much detail with a limit of 500 characters. If you'd like a more in depth description, I'd be happy to send you a private message.

  • @NoWattz My story in a nutshell: father's side, grandma died of heart attack in 40's, grandpa heart problems most of his life sucumbing to heart attack in 70s. Father high colesterol, blood pressure all his life, triple bypass, stent in neck etc... all big meat/fat eaters. Me cautioned about high colesterol and blood pressure since I was a teen. Reduce meat/dairy helped but raw vegan made all the difference - I am high carb but my blood is like a healthy 18yo now. Destiny thwarted.

  • @NoWattz Yes, genetic predisposition comes into it, but diet diet reverses (TYPE 2) it and people seem to eat similar foods to other members of the family. Low carb diets are excellent and science has shown that getting the right balance of omega 3 to 6 improves insulin resistance dramatically, as does increasing magnesium, inositol (check out D-Chiro inositol). Other minerals/vitamins/parasites/candida maybe responsible for your symptomology. Diet has shown to reverse it.

  • @NoWattz I think your talking about psychetruth. I do agree with you Nowalz, I have insulin resistance, some people have genetic contitutions, giving them weak chests, weak liver , certain mental attributes, so your completely right. It has been proven that one healthy generation can develop diabetes, despite perfect genetics.. it is happening in long lived societies. What people think is healthy is not, but I can't say this about you because you have not state what yoru healthy diet was/is?

  • @NoWattz I think for alot of people diabetes has been developed out of bad eating, but as many generations continue to eat refined foods, lowered immune system, organ weakness, bad constitutions, cause future simblings to get insulin resistance and pre diabetes much earlier. We are taught to eat high carbs, suppost to be healthy wholemeal bread and rice, fruit, hybrid veggies, when it is unhealthy. American indian diet, fats and protein is best, low starchy foods. DIET and herbs for liver.

  • Diabetes has been created by man, your ancesters. Fruit, cereal is not a healthy diet if that is what you meant. If your healthy diet is meat, fish, lard, olive oil, butter, vegetables with butternut squash, no rice, no potato or grain , some berries, no sugar or processed foods at all! Then your eating as nature designed you too.

  • thanks for the video....

  • There is truth to what this man is saying. But he is somewhat vindictive in his philosophy and delivery.
