I listen to reverse music often and from my standpoint, this is a pretty average when it comes to reversed music. It's way to cluttered in the middle. The problem faced when reversing 'rock' bands is that they typical have drums, and drums/percussion do not reverse well (especially when there is a lot of drumming). A rule of thumb reversing music, the less drums the better! The beginning and end are awesome.

Try listening to the scientist backwards or any 'chill' song with minimal percussion.

The reason it's so recognisable is mostly down to the timbres (sounds) used. The human brain picks up on that rather than the melody.

For example, if you were only played the very first note of "Clocks", you'd be able to recognise it without hearing the remainder of the melody.

@slyEder197 That's because it is actually the melody played forward. Savel29J hasn't reversed the song totally, there are samples at that section which play backwards, then forwards, then backwards etc. to sound continuous.
