I agree with you guys. History has maligned this great man. It's nice, however, to see a lighter side of our 37th president. Thanks for posting this! :)
Great recording. Thank you for posting this. His "She probably got your number off the wall of some toilet" and closing comments are the only real joke I've heard him make in the over 100 recordings you have posted. I like his genuine and no nonsense approach but he doesn't appear to have had much of a sense of humor.
Here you see him again trying to get us out of Vietnam which -- as he is alway reminds us -- Kennedy and Johnson got us into. And he reminds us that the Dems wouldn't even support him as he tries to get us out of THEIR war.
(So what, he encouraged his subordinates to play hardball politics and then later, went a little overboard supporting them when they, unknown to him, went a bit too far.)
@AlbertJ66 "We're gonna bomb the railroad yard tonight" Yeah, Tricky Dick was a war monger and crook. Kennedy signed an executive order getting us out of Vietnam by the end of 64. Tricky Dick and his friends would have none of it. Don't do anything I won't except I'm not looking. These two gay cabanerose were like frat mob boys. You have GOT to be kidding.

All these Nixon tapes are great.
