The narrow railway line Turda - Abrud was built between years 1891 - 1912. This nearly 100 km long route which includes 4 main stations and 21 smal station functioned until 1997 when it was closed and abandoned on the grounds of unprofitable. After 11 years from closing with private expense a 12 km long section was rebuilt and reopen for use.
