@endurance4ever1 that's squats to train your vertical leap, you dont need to go 90° since you dont go 90° when you jump, check derrick rose jumping with dumbells on youtube, you'll see that he doesn't go 90° too
The idea behind the jump squat is an explosive movement from the squat position to propel yourself into the air. It's the same idea as pushups where you push fast and hard enough to clap between pushups. You are doing it totally wrong. Maybe don't post training videos unless you know how to do it first.
this is terrible... he's not squating, he's landing flat footed which is hard on the knees, and he's using momentum with his arms to jump up instead of isolating the muscles.

You need to bend so that your thighs are parallel to the ground and this exercise is anaerobic not cardio. Fail.
