I saw this car at the Bugatti Museum in France. There are only 6 Bugatty Royale in France and this museeum has two in two different types. I probably saw this one. The guide said it is 30 millions euros each. so...something around 45 millions dollars.
@datawraith3080 yeah, but not before you lower it, get rid of that interior fabric and replace with leopard skin seat covers, spray on privacy glass and cut out the rear leather and get some banging speakers in there! good idea about the chromed plastic hubcaps, but get the ones that spin !
tomsriv sorry you have it a little wrong ' it is a ' 12.8 litre straight 8 ' they had not invented the V8 in 1927 but what a beautuful car WOW ! ! ! it has to be the number one car in the world for sure..
@trebleclefts Your right, I meant straight 8. But the V8 was invented by then, in fact Cadillac had one in 1914. But they were not as reliable as straight 8s. When Ford invented the better and cheaper casting process they became commonplace.
Wrong. The first V8 appeared in 1902 by Leon Levavasseur in an Antoinette.
As a matter of fact the 1905 Darracq Land Speed record car had a 200hp V8 and it did 109,6mph (176,5km/h) the same year. This V8 engined Darracq can be seen here on youtube. Hard to believe a 105 year old car can be driven so fast.
Cadillac introduced their V8 in 1914 and sold 13,000 of them.
Also Hispano Suiza made some 49,800 V8 engines for World War ONE fighter aircraft from 1914-1918.
La voiture est si grande que l'on a l'impression qu'elle est conduite par des nains de jardin! Quelle ligne sublime! Triste qu'on entend pas le son du moteur.
Takes my breath away. The story goes, Mrs. Bugatti, a very small woman could drive the car around easily in the 1920's. The only reason only six were made is driving a million dollar car around during the depression years was a great way to get your butt whupped.
i use to live next to that city back in france... i live in spain now... i lived in: Boulogne-Billancourt, right next to ...wait.. this is St-Cloud, not Port de St. Cloud.. nevermind

@superjan101079 nah do not think so. There are a lot more cars over there. For example, the Lincoln Continental 1940, a true american masterpiece, the...my point is that the Bugatti is already a cliché, like French food and French wine. People think is the best car in the world, but there are some other cars a hundred times better than that.
screech005. Your thoughts on this issue are quiet daft. By your reasoning would you then say that the Chev Corvette is not an American car, but rather Belgian, as Zora Arkus Duntov the "father" of the Corvette was born in Belgium, the son of Russian-Jews? How about the MINI, after all its creator was the Greek born Alxander Issigonis?
Bugatti automobile company was founded in Molsheim, a town in the Alsace, part of Germany and after 1919 a region of France. Ettore Bugatti was born in Milan, Italy. If you had read more carefully he stated "old French car" not old Frenchman.
Bugatti was founded in Molsheim, little town in Alsace, part of France until 1871, part of Germany betwen 1871and 1919. In 1919, Alsace became definitively french. Ettore Bugatti was born in Italia, but he was naturalized french.
This Bugatti Royale is a old french car... not italian.
Speaking as a designer, I consider this car one of the most perfectly proportioned and aesthetically pleasing practical designs in all history. Love at first sight.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
If I saw the Napoleon Royale driving down the street I'd probably soil myself.
My heart was skipping beats just watching this video.
I wonder, did they forgo the traditional side mount
spare tires to help give the car the illusion that it's
even longer than reality because of that never ending
uninterrupted front fender line!?

@superjan101079 probably the WORST car in the world ever built
here is why
1- Financial failure for bugatti, nearly bankrupted the company.. the car pictured was NEVER SOLD
2- terrible fuel economy and tiny gas tank- limited range
3- largest engine ever fitted in a production vehicle, but still lacking in any sort of power or speed
4- terrible handling characteristics, suspension is soft and saggy...
IT DRIVES LIKE A BUS
5- it is ugly.. (and i like old cars.. but not ones out of proportion)
bye
