  • Lol why no one praises star wars for their light saber. Well, im not saying that this isn't good. But Star Wars deserves some thumbs up as well

  • who choreographed this?

  • Since you are taking constructive criticism... There are WAY to many instances in the vid where one could have easily killed the other. Just watch it, and pick out all the places where one could have reasonably struck the other WITH THE SABER, and dident. Times when one would spin or duck, or manhanle the other one. If you can push their face into the wall, you can slash them with the saber, ect...

  • what did you use as the lightsabers? the toy ones?

  • This is brilliant. I like the effects, the choreography, the location, nice choice in music. One thing I kept spotting that I personally have trouble with is having a massive grin :D but it's not an acting thing so just ignore that bit lol

  • Great video!

  • i'm with arny. very original video, with very nice choreography. you execute some great combo sets, and that puts you apart from a lot of amateurs who just go around doing one or two strike sets.

i do agree with the footwork, but i also wanted to add in a bit on the guy with the orange lightsaber. he does a lot of one handed fighting, but doesn't seem to know what to do with his free hand. it flails around a lot, or just seems to be held in awkward positions. control is key. but great vid! :)

  • @ArnyTheChamp Thanks for a detailed comment, I'm currently planning the sequel and taking all this constructive criticism into mind when working on the choreography.

  • Light Bambi sabber duel?

  • hey guys im planning on makeing my own fan film but i needa few tips do u think you could help

  • This is brilliant mate! I am editing my own lightsaber sequence at the moment and hope it ends up being half as good as yours. I have a few test videos on youtube so please feel free t comment and give any useful tips on how to improve. Cheers and good luck with the sequel!!!

  • COOL its very well done but maybe a little tip try a diff color of sabers it looks like your fighting another jedi you can ignore me if you want

  • man i wish lightsabers were real

  • Hey guys, love this vid. I'm trying to make one myself but don't know how to make the effects look realistic. Is it Adobe after effects you use?

  • @xmullenator Yeh, Adobe After Effects 7. If you need any info on how to do them I can send you a written tutorial, just give me a PM.

  • its good dudes! but ye more faster and nervous, and don't smile when you fighting! ;D

  • yea i think it should be a little faster an smoother..

    but pretty good :D

  • Good for a school project. Well done.

  • Too slow, it needs to be more intense. it's not jst about hitting them together, it's a style all it's own. For every parry there's a block that fits that parry. So just keep working on it and get more creative!

Overall good job for your first one ^_^

  • uummm i liked the fight as in the fight it self but the lightsabers are a little to BIG dont ya thing lolZ but good fight

  • dude yellow saber= jedi sentinal green=jedi counseler forgive my spelling

  • @jarheadJGG erm.... its orange not yellow

  • can u please tell me the music??! btw really liked it good acting! i made on awhile back i think in 2006 so i sound like a little kid in it and the fight scene is pretty short but check it out! its under a channal called LinkMaster7 so thank you! =)

  • @michaelkay usually jedi with an orange saber denotes someone who barelly uses the force and relies on his (or her) physical strength and lightsaber mastery even more so than that of a Jedi Guardian (dark blue saber).Hahah anyway awesome job.

  • That was really cool ; )

  • choreography was nice yet acting part needs work.

    ;)

  • i would recomend using two hands for the sith lightsaber also that part were the jedi takes his lightsaber bak is just plain bad

  • Dude smiling all the time, poor editing, lack of intensity to the fight. It looks like you guys are just trying to hit them together a lot. The goal in a saber fight is to be taking fatal swings, but blocking those fatal swings. You aren't going to hurt anything waving your lightsaber around in the air above your head.

  • look also at

    ryan vs. dorkman

  • hey what is that program where u can use special effects to turn sticks into glowing light sabers i really want to make such as those videos!!!!

  • dude could have more speed in the fighting but i thinkthe weeks were not wasted i am subbing

  • the lightsabers were really good but with the guy smiling and some of the choragraphy i dint feel the intesity

  • bravo

  • out of curiosity...how long would it take to add effects and stuff

  • Pretty good job. Location was good.

Ryan vs Dorkman is the best though.

  • LOL! The one with the green saber is constantly smiling! He's like so happy to be fighting!

  • sooooooo nice :D

  • do u need a greenscreen? please type your answer on one of my videos.

  • guy should not be smileing

  • Too choreographed, and bad acting.. what a shame..

  • I imagine u used Adobe afteraffects right?

  • wats the name of the song

  • u no your cool wenn.............

  • nice use of music and camera moves but the choreography is an obvious copy og the RvD films.

  • The fight is hilarious, but spec effects are nice ^^

  • good graphics and good sounds but too choregraphed and not very realistic. Other than that it's not bad.

  • that was cool.

  • The jumps over that pit hole was kinda risky business don't you think?haha

  • how u do the thing so it looks like u rly have lightsabers? 5/5

  • that'd be so cool!!!

  • what takes the longest for you?

  • Nice work, I've filmed a couple lightsaber fights myself. maybe I'll post them if I ever have the patience to edit them.

  • HAHAHA the dude in the grey smiling while he's fighting xD

ionno but that expression just made me crack up xD

  • It got a bit better towards the end, but then at the very last part, the last few moves are very, very slow and look bad. There isn't enough tenseness in the two of you, and there aren't any nice "oof!"s. Those actually add a lot to a movie.

  • It's mostly good, but, as is the problem with a lot of these videos, I think, is that many of the strikes are too slow, and just look kind of lazy instead of powerful, which kind of ruins the effect.

  • genial!!!! effet speciaux tres réussit. j'adore

  • saw 2 points where the guy with the green saber had an opening to win

  • Wow, that's awesome! I'm totally impressed. I wish I had this much commitment! Great job!

  • ok the coreography was not bad, but i dont like the fact you used toys, i made my props out of pvc pipes and electrical tape and they came out FUCKING AWSOME. but they are slightly heavy and hard to sue in combat granted pvc is geavy when it is long. still i like the graphics and im still trying to get the program or find someone willing to animate the things for me, if you have either reply, this is a request to all who can

  • how long a video?

  • I need help trying to make the sabers activate. I am not quite so sure how to. Can somebody help me?

  • frame by frame

  • realy nice video, i bet it took a lot of time

  • hey can you give me adobe after effects??

  • how do you make lightsaber effects!

  • adobe after effects 7

  • how mush is the software

  • that was awsome, so far the best i've seen, obvious you took a lot of time and effort making it. Very well put together, especially with the electrical panel and the consistancy of having it cut

  • Oh man! whenever I hear a lightsaber turning on I get chills! Awsm vid u guys, the only critisism would be to hold ur lightsaber a bit sturdier.. seemed like u r holding a feather at some points. Other than that this is great!

  • Very Good, but I am gonna go with Hospitaller on the Cheography, I ain't no superstar at it, but a bit more movement, and loosing you rbody abit, you would be golden.

  • could have been a liitle more fast paced

  • Aaaaah. Very nice. The saber looks were a perfect 10/10, and the clash effects were a 10/10 also. The only thing I have to say is that the sound didnt quite match up with what was going on.

  • I commend the effects. The lightsaber glows and clashes are flawless. However, like most first time duelers, your form and choreography leave much to be desired.

Move your bodies more. Widen your steps, develop your footwork, present a lower center of gravity and more balance in your movements. Moreover, twist your torsos so it looks like you're putting real POWER behind your strokes.

  • awsome

  • hmmm... not the best I've seen, but i give you kudos...

  • Cool^_^ Could you give me the link to download Adobe after effects7.0?

  • as the program is called to make those special effects? please reply

  • Adobe After Effect 7.0

  • All the strikes are aimed at the sabers, not at the opponent, the cutting definitely needs continuity work, having JUST saber sounds isn't enough, and for heaven's sake, don't SMILE when you're losing a saberlock. Oh, and when the green one got both sabers he practically GAVE the yellow one away.

    I'd give this like 2-3/10.

  • yea but they did good for weeks of work better than u could do I bet

  • id laugh my ass off if one of u fell in the hole lol

  • i like it

but it is to clear that they dont want to kill each other. so the action is a bit ... ...

    but good effects

  • You'd think with all the good effects music and time put into this, they could have went to old navy and bought a pair of black pants. No Jedi looks good in Jeans.

  • the guy with the green lightsaber seems ambidexterous, cool

  • Not bad, good effects and good music!

  • a very good green lighsaber but maybe you need some more speed in your fights movements. bye!.//

  • interesting, but i think u need some one falling into that pit

  • how do u do the "power Up" thingy i got after effects and i don't know how to do the power up part

    thanks

  • wow nice coriographing of the fights. looks quite pro =) good effor tguys 5/5

  • nice video, btw, how did you make the lightsaber look like that?

  • omg the guy with the green lightsaber looks so gay.he even smiles when he fights.

  • the lightsaber sounds are a bit off but other then that i liked it.

  • Nice!

Could you explain what programs you used?

  • Pretty good man. I like.

  • wow dudes this is so gay=),, congratz;)

  • Yeah that's a definite for my Fight Club playlist. Good work! That song sounds familiar, though...if you don't mind, where is it from?

  • i have no idea what its called, it was ages ago and i dont have the file no more. I know its by x-ray dog thou

  • thanks =D

  • thanks man

  • very good. adobe after effects?

  • yep

  • dude awesome what program u use?

  • nice video

  • boo boo boo? i'm sorry, it's just my personal opinion here, but orange lightsabers just seem to weird to me

  • Awesome!!! What is the name of the music that you used? I've tried a few lightsaber videos myself (take a look) but they are not as good as this.

    Great work.

  • Speed it up a few frames per second, work on some moves and costumes and you have a quite worthy duel. (Also, are you missing the sound for when two lightsabers are held together? I believe there is a sound specifically for that.)

    Also, good job.

  • wow

  • El patita con el sable verde es completamente inexpresivo. Fuera de ello el duelo está bastante bien hecho.

  • make it faster

  • music?

  • program????

  • Me too

  • I saw a few perfect opertunitys to chop his head off.

  • how about getting a life :D no offense, it looked cool..

  • I think you need some better camera work, but it's still good.

  • this is hard to edit..

    excellent work

  • nice editing i dont think there was anything wrong with this shortfilm my judgement is 5 out of 5 exelent like the start wars its self

  • Nice! Good job to both of you!

  • a lot of action going on, eh? too bad the kid in the grey shirt lost...he wasnt concentrating, man! he was like forcing himself not to smile half the time...: )

  • you guys gotta work on your footwork a little

  • Very good..Not half-assed like most everything else on youtube.

  • pretty cool... nice location, but I think you should improve cutting... some cuts are amazing and the nex one is just bad

  • Gibt besseres. Einzig gute. Die Lichtschweter.

  • Lsmaker or adobe after effects?

  • after effects

  • Only problem I had with this video was the fact that there were massive openings all the time, and the Jedi did nothing but aim for each others light sabre. If you're going to chareograph a fight, you should have it so that it actually looks like a fight.

  • the end was kind of funny

  • That's good work BUT the music you choose isn't adapted

  • Greetings, fellow After Effects wielder and Star Wars Lightsaber fan.

Well well well done! 5 Stars for brilliance! This, in my mind, rivals Ryan vs Dorkman 1! :D

  • this in no way shape or form rivals ryan verses dorkman...lmfao

  • It's nice to be nice.

  • Buen trabajo muchachos. Bonita espada anaranjada ^.^!

  • no offfense, but what?!

  • whats that music, tune whatever please tell me

  • Nice lightsaber effects.

  • nice video men really good.

like the hand force field or something.

where can i get that kind of effects or what websites?

  • You can't get the effects on websites, but you can get the software to make them. In the case of this video, the software was Adobe After Effects 7. There are plugins for AE, but those just make creating the effects easier, it doesn't do it for you.

If you want to do lightsabers easily, download a trial of After Effects (found on the Adobe website), and look for Andrew Kramer's Lightsaber preset plugin. Or you can use the Mask, Blur, and Colorize rotoscoping method for the sabers.

  • you said the adobe after effect 7 is in this video?

OR do i buy it from a store.

  • "Adobe After Effects 7" is the name of the software that was used to make the effects in the video.

You can go to ADOBE DOT COM and go to their products, and find the After Effects page. On this page, you can download a free trial version, or purchase the full version.

If you purchase it, you can either download, or have a disc sent to you. It might be found in some stores, but I'm not sure.

  • oh my god very very nice

    compliment

  • no, adobe after effects 7

  • Finally, I see someone do a fight who at least appears to be left-handed. Overall, not bad. Keep working at it.

  • nice job, what's the music you used?

  • the music is by x-ray dog but i cant remember the title of it :s

  • cool!

  • wicked sick

  • u suk this suks i h8 this btw this is alan im jokin its gud p.s. u suk

  • this is so awesome! man, u guys know how to make "light saber" videoes! 5/5! :D

  • i think i see two futere movie makers here.

  • thanks alot. we are on making project saber 2 so look out for it in the future ;)

  • That was a good fight with some cool effects but the ending...seriously!

  • Effects are good, the sound is a bit off...

  • Verry good video. Congratulations!! You are the best Jedi masters :)

  • ohhh no not best jedi masters you want to see

masters type in ryan vs dorkman 2

  • wow you guys rock lol

awsome vid btw id give it 6/5

  • nice.

  • ah. well that's cool then =)

  • was the orange saber intentional, or was it an attempt at red that kind of failed?

  • yes it was intentional. i wanted a change to the common colours such as red, blue and green.

  • Pretty good guys.

  • whats the music???

  • I cant remember what its called but I know its by, X-Ray Dog

  • the guy with the green saber smiles too much

  • I know he does, Ive told him off for it.

  • cool!

  • that was cool but some sounds were off a bit 4 stars!

  • Nice effects, bu the choreography seems a little copied from RvD. But good though.

  • That was super !!!! Well done 5 stars for u!!

  • about 90% of the choreography was directly copied or poorly performed from RvD and RvD 2

  • this was filmed before rvd2 was out ¬¬

  • abit slow . . . but i LMAO at 1:00 . . . when the camera man was blowing on the back of your neck

  • nice vid! a understand that you must have done those lightsaber effects on after fx by using ryan weiber's tutorial. I want that same effect but on photoshop. i noticed that the core seems blurrier than normal and the saber is a little fat. i like that effect and if you have any how to's on this that would be sweet.

  • i might put a tutorial up in the near future ;)

  • SWEET!!!!!!!!!!

  • Make a tut on how to do it plz!

  • Very well choreographed, shots could be a little tighter
