ohhhhh come on people sometimes it doesn't hurt to listen to lady-music so you can get in the mood of appreciating the female species all the more. If you're a real man you appreciate a beautiful female voice. And quit pretending you weren't hard-core "touched" by this song just like how you hard-core touch your motherboards in special places when the lights go out

@roofy2k Groovy. Then we're both in agreement that neither of us think anyone's wrong! It's cool. I did use the torch method though, and it works like butter and maple syrup! I may end up with a paperweight one of these days, but when I do, I'm sure one of these youtube guys will eventually show me how to turn the screen into a homemade 3d x-ray machine that I can use to mold and print myself the perfect set of veneers (using the open-source diy 3d prototyper here on youtube of course).
@roofy2k I'm not saying they're wrong in the WAY they fix it. Just commenting that all the guys posts are promoting his business.
Sure, infrared batcave repair it up all day, but don't come saying this guy's wrong for having the curiosity to try something so stupid it just might work. You've probably never just 'dove in' on a project without reading the instruction manual in your life have you?
Hilarious! First the blanket trick, then baking the mobo, and now this! I fully expect someone to try fixing this problem with sunlight and a magnifying glass any day now!
There is no shortage of bad advice online. This is the absolute worst thing you can do to your laptop. The repair is temporary and very damaging.
Precision Division in Florida (PrecisionDivision . com) repair laptop motherboard - professionally. The repair is performed at a computer-controlled dark infrared rework station. The repair is monitored by continuous ESD event detection.
BGA glue is chemically removed.
Youtube is for music videos. Not DIY motherboard repair. Trust me on this one.
@precisiondivisionfla Ever notice how when it comes to 'do it yourself' endeavors people discuss on youtube, the only people shouting "WRONG" from the peanut gallery are people who want to sell you something? I've seen this guy post around on the web also, saying the same things "This is stupid, don't try it, instead, send it to me and let me charge you to fix it in my computer controlled infrared dynamatronic batcave".
I beg to differ. This is EXACTLY what youtube is for! WTG Drift!
I would rather see you throw the laptop in the trash than destroy it like this. I am not saying it to get business - I get plenty of business.
Dark Infrared technology is not black magic/voodoo. It is a precise way of repairing a BGA chipset without causing damage. Look it up for yourself and you'll see that I'm not just making it up. Look up the following terms: thermal profile, blistering, outgassing, delamination
@precisiondivisionfla I'm sure you'd rather see me throw my laptop in the trash, but I used the lighter torch method. Masked the board off with aluminum foil, warmed the chip with the torch for about 2 minutes, and used a penny for a shim. It's been working fine of course. Granted, I probably didn't hit the PRECISE boiling point of the solder at a perfectly situated point in space, but it's working. According to what I've read, I'll probably have to do it again in a few months. np....
Sorry offcourse but, i moddified technique from this (how to get preesure to the chip to press it correctly in board, and fixed it again and it works already 5 month
I agree in this video i didnt have enough pressure on the chip after 1 month it failed, but after i modified techniue i can give u my word its working since, now my sister uses it and uses like a ****** and it still works :O....
@DriftPalace what did u use to apply pressure on it? i've tried using a hair dryer.. twice.. it didn't work.. but i didn't apply any pressure.. i've also added a copper shim and re-applied silver thermal paste
Don't do this to your motherboard - unless you want to ruin it.
Your board will work temporarily after doing something like this - but it will fail again, and the damage cause can be permanent. I hope most of you at home have the judgment to know that this is not a good idea.
There's a good Q & A at PrecisionDivision . com that discusses this issue. It's worth checking out.

Try my copper shim instead of a penny. Only $5 and comes with thermal paste free. Search for "TX1000 Copper Shim" on ebay.
