Look like your a few mile from Camel hump outh of it I am the A-fram down the other side of camel hump road . I open up my new yahoo site call . Terlingua_Desert it a yahoo site check it out some time .I love what you two have done in West Texas have you seen the pyramided down the road . Very small but it work I dont know who they are but very good work on that place
One thing to keep in mind with the GPS is that the GPS system is owned and maintained by the Gov. It is accurate for Gov applications (military), but to avoid others such as terrist using it for pinpoint accuracy, it is de-sensitized for civillian uses. So for your usage in finding property corners and such, I'd call a surveyer. Your GPs might be 20 or more feet off due to design purposes.
Two of my favorite books will help you both amazingly! I wish I could say I've built my house, but I haven't yet. It won't be able to for several years. The $50 & Up Underground House book from Mole Publishing (19.95), and Sunshine to Dollars from Knowledge Publications (14.95). They are both hands on and easy to understand. The house book will tell you how to build, dirt cheap, especially on a hill. the other will tell you all you need to know for cheap hot water, refrigeration, and cooking.
@radicaldanzero I livbe near by a few mile down the road about 24 years ago i check out some of the wells in the area one near Camel hump road the static level was only 25 feet top level but the best thing to do in area the wells is to pump very slow and in a few years some of them do better . At the Terlingua cheek area there is a few 15 foot wells there .
Good for you guys!!! Always glad to see someone get out of the cities. The economy isn't going to get any better. It will get much much worse. sustainability = survivability, at this point
