  • i consider myself husky and this is the first vault ive done infact perfected on my behalf wish i had a real camera to show some stuff i can do

  • easy to learn, hard as fuck to do lol

  • human 1 gravity 0 ohhhh yeahhhh

  • lol, it should be given that parkour was created for the aide of the common graff writer

  • I Like to drive through with my takeoff leg really hard, It gives you a nice little push ;o

  • /watch?v=j1fB0QpLzoE

    Another tutorial for Speed Vault

  • AWESOME!!! tutorial

  • im 9 and I can do most parkour techniecks including the wall run but I just cant get past vaulting tips any one?

  • @ezio4life99 This was the first vault I ever did. This one, in my opinion, is the easiest to do.Just keep practicing and strengthening your legs and core. With practice, you should be able to start of with this vault (atleast I did anyway) and step up in difficulty.

  • @blitzkrieg2671 thanks help heaps :) :) :)

  • @ezio4life99 No problem.

  • Song name? Anyone?

  • Guys I'd just like to give you a tip that helped me perfect the speed vault. The most common mistake is that you put your weight on your hand... Try like tossing it through your hips in a sprint and only use the hand to restable yourself. Hope it helps :)

  • I learned how to do the dash vault a few days ago. is the dash anything like the speed vault? easier? harder?

  • @TheSacredCreator 3RUN ALL THE WAY!!

  • omfg skip the hour long into

  • Comment removed

  • This was the first vault I learned.

  • are you right or left handed in this video

  • @jmbbala he's using his left hand, but whether a person is right handed or left handed doesnt really matter... i mean, im right handed, but i feel comfortable doing vaults using my left hand..it depends on whats easier for you and what you feel most comfortable doing

  • wow the foot tap trick really works if your xcared your leg will get cought using that trick boosts your confidence and then your realic]ze if i can bring one leg other and tap the other leg on the wall i can rais emy leg another 2-3 inches and do it proffesionally!

  • Thanks a lot for the tutorials guys, they're really helpful and explanatory

  • I'm right handed so which legs and arms would i use, would it be the same as the guy doing it in the video??

  • this vault looks BOSS.

  • What's the difference between the Speed Vault and the Side Vault?

  • @TWTPVZ side covers anything where your legs are to the side, speed is a kind of side vault where you jump horizontally over it b4 you put your hand down. Hope that helped.

  • @DTOParkour Thanks. That helped me a lot.

  • For the Speed Vault since you're holding your body weight with a single arm, do you need to have a very strong arm? Or because of momentum only a slightly strong one?

  • wow really helpful:)

  • What is the technical difference between this and a thief vault?

  • @SoloDaNINJA

To perform speed vault you must approach an obstacle at 90 degrees angle running very fast otherwise you will not able to perform technique properly.

In thief vault you aproach obstacle at the other angle and you put your second hand to stabilize.

In speed vault you use one hand and you push against obstacle to keep momentum.

  • The vault is correct but he has a mistake--he ran with his heels.

  • hey boys, i would like to ask something. is it a problem for me to practice parkour, because i am almost 1.9 metres tall, and everyone keeps telling me that I am too tall for this sport?? tnx in advance, and btw, great vid ;) nice tutorial :)

  • @duka951 Everybody can do it.

  • @duka951 Well, maybe there COULD be a slight difference if parkour was all about being THE BEST and outrunning every other traceur, then you might not be able for erm... some weird reason. BUT, since parkour ISN'T a competition thing, ANYONE can do it, and no one has the right to tell you you're not fit for it.

  • Freerunning should be an extreme sport. I may not be a huge fan of drawing the lines and nitpicking at what is parkour and what is freerunning, but people would be more impressed by freerunning. Parkour doesn't need to be commercialized, like skateboarding and BMX.

  • WHY THE F**K PARKOR IS NOT AN OLYMPIC SPORT ??I

  • @Ronnie7X It actully should be an extreme sport.

  • @OxiC3x0 That would destroy the meaning of it and its teachings, the philosophy.

  • Thank's for the vid!

  • what d'you mean by never lock your arms? i couldn't quite get it :\

  • At 2:19 that is the step vault right?

  • i never practiced parkour but when i sometimes randomly feel to jump over a wall i do it somehow like that :P but still, tutorial is great and helpful

  • can the vault be done if the bar is up to the chest

  • @rebornsdestroy917 If you notice, the wall he uses is, or is almost, up to his chest. I think It just depends on how high you can jump.

  • I think watching all these tutorials has increased my vocabulary a considerable amount.

Thanks for the videos, it really helps when I do my parkour. It's clear, precise and to the point with progression. Keep it up. And i'd make the same post on all the videos but like, that's spam. Lol.

  • So it is basically a thief vault without using 1 hand?

  • @hydrater Pretty much but a thief vault is to be used at an angle; Like if your running next to it, hence the 2 hands to straiten yourself out.

This is used when come strait at the wall, which is why only one hand is used.

  • @draco19283 Oh ok.

  • So, brand new to Parkour (and admittedly out of shape). This morning was literally my first time training, and I started with this vault (yes I know how to do the roll). My problem is I either do the safety tap, or I put my other hand down for a moment right before I jump. I can't seem to do just one hand and no safety tap. Any thoughts?

  • @Chaosfire360 Practice, practice, practice.

  • @Chaosfire360

funny...i did it for the lulz and i never had to do a safety tap. 0_0

  • @KlineStife Um... hooray for you?

  • @Chaosfire360

    :P

i guess it has something to do with my stick figure-weight...only about 120 pounds at 6'1

  • this is the most common vault to learn start with this one and move your self up i got it in about 6 mins just make sure you dont bend your legs :)

  • my wrist hurts after doing this a lot D:

  • @xXxDiukexXx well there is a good way to strengthen them . There is a move in breakdance easy to do and it strengthens your wrists . Yes they will hurt after doing it much , but they will stop and your wrist will be really strong ! The move is called turtle freeze , searc on youtube for it . Or you can also do a hand stand ....

  • @xXxDiukexXx more knuckle and finger push-ups

  • its not like i have anything against freeruning its just funny to see how speed vault is one of the easiest things to learn yet it is 100x more useful than.. idk... corkscrew or smthing :))

  • This is the first one I learned. But thanks for the tutorial.

  • wow, i have been doing this for years without knowing it, know i know how to improve it too, thanks for the vid

  • First one i learned

  • Ok.. im not certain if you people answer, but when i try to kong vault (or is it monkey vault?) you take legs inbetween arms when u jump over a obstacle thingygummywut and i just cant do it, im afraid of face plantin

  • limitations, i can only jump to one side

  • im just starting parkour and il give this ago it looks harder than a kong cuz u hav 2 get sideways and stuff.

  • 8 disslike they prob fell down trying :)

  • I got confused and swing my lest leg and kicked with my right one and hurt my knee. XD

  • "4- Landing.

Just keep landing the way you have so far."

What if my landing was on my face??? :D Joking :d great tutorial

  • Nice camera ! :)

    fps?

  • Im right handed which hand should i use???

  • @ISetYourFaceOnFire use left, it will be much eisier to face your legs to the right and land the jump

  • @HardStylePheoX I'm right handed and i've been using my right hand help?

  • @HardStylePheoX im right handed too and i use left, its much easier, but if you want use right, it will be much harder

  • This is kinda awkward for me because i'm left handed but push off with my left foot. Any tips?

  • very easy vault i dont even needed practice to do this vaults

  • how do u do the first turn in air i cant do it :[

  • omgf omgf this is the moust stupid guide i ever see and dont worry i am really good at parkour ..so dont sey i dont know enithing

  • @locodaz Well, you're use of the English language is quite poor... That's one thing you don't know. How is this guide stupid? Do you have a SMART one prepared for us?

  • @UberEpic3 You're? You mean YOUR.

  • @shoopdawhooperful it can be said both ways i think...

  • @shoopdawhooperful moust? You mean MOST. sey? You mean SAY. dont? You mean DON'T. i? You mean I. enithing? You mean ANYTHING. And you still haven't answered my question...

  • @UberEpic3 mate I can understand it annoys you it annoys me to but talk about grammar nazi

  • @UberEpic3I'm not locodaz, retard. IM SHOOPDAWHOOPERFUL. You never asked me a question. Read the comments again, and you will realise you have replied to the wrong person.

  • @shoopdawhooperful Wow. Sorry. That was all a super-the-fail on my part. :/

    Anywho, nice video.

  • @shoopdawhooperful YOUR U MEAN UR

  • @shoopdawhooperful You only use You're when you are saying "You Are" :)

  • Are practicing on picnic tables alright for this vault?

  • Nice tutorial man...one thing i gotta ask though, i was taught ur take off leg(the one you jump with) should be the one you land on. is this neccesary to keep your momentum?

  • EEEEAAAASYYYYYY, I JUST JUMP OVER IT

  • Great! I have to say; the hand motion at 1:59 to show that you keep your center of gravity over the hand supporting you on the obstacle is a terrific example of effective non-verbal communication. It was so well expressed that it made me grin.

  • Great! I have to say; the hand motion at 1:59 to show that you keep your center of gravity over the hand supporting you on the obstacle is a terrific example of effective non-verbal communication. It was so well expressed that it made me grin.

  • So is this the way a right-handed person would do it (with their left hand planted on the object)?

  • @glitchystudios you wanna know how to do everything both ways. being ammadexterious in your movements is really good for your flow, and helps you not to get hurt when you go for something. for instance i always like to land on my left foot and jump from my right, i don't know why, i just do, so i practice it the other way round to make sure that if i go for an obstacle where i cant do it my way, i can do it the other way just as easy.

  • @glitchystudios not necessarily, i'm right-handed, but i like to use my right hand to plant on the object. It just depends on your preference.

  • nice 1 ;d

  • Dont mess up i bashed my knee in and shit it hurt! I was being lazy and just kind dropped my knees low and then BAM! my knee goes into the railing and i flip over i saved my self from hitting the ground but i couldnt get up for 3 minutes and then i looked and my knee was INFLATED it was cool at the same time gross.

  • Does it matter what foot you jump with?

  • @matman727 No, not really. You might change the take off foot depending on which direction you are coming from, at what angle you are to the obstacle, and out of personal taste/style. I've seen some people who would use the outside leg (farthest from the wall at the approach) to jump from, and send the inside leg over first, and I've seen them do it as in the video, by jumping off of the inside and sending the outside over first.

  • i did this when i was running from my friend

  • LMFAO. learned it in 2 minutes

  • will this work if you speed vault over top of cars??

  • yes it will work on picnic tables

  • will this work when trying to go over picknik tables?

  • It might, if you're able to spin your body over one hand. Otherwise, use a two-handed vault.

  • Oh, sorry, thinking of another technique. Yes, I think this would help vault you over a table.

  • That would take ALOT of momentum. Lol.

  • Good tut but im looking for one to help me speed vault over obstacles about rib high any tips...

  • yeh jump high but from like 3 or 2 steps away from the obsticle this gives u time to strate out and you should have a long run if u startin out hope it helped:)

  • Why not just kong it, if it's that high?

  • speed vaults faster, kong is for longer objects

  • Yeah, but that's just my point. Anything higher than about your stomach and you're turning forward momentum into vertical momentum, so you lose the point of the speed vault. A kong, a pop vault or even a dash if you have the power would let you get a better push off a higher obstacle than the speed vault if it's high, you know what I mean?

  • I agree with you to. I think that to do a good speed vault the obstacle need to be at wrist high aproximately

  • Of course, in that case the speed vault is not the best vault to perform if you want to move as fast as you can

  • @Theart182 well idk about u, but for me this is teh fastest vault i can do, i say dash comes in close, but not faster.

  • cat vault?

  • cat leap i think :D

  • You are so good to make these teaching videos :D

  • esse speed vault nao tá bom

  • been doin this for 5 years now, im pro at it ^^

  • i was told that you should try to min. falre when going over (keep as low to wall as possible).

  • This is so much better than a dash vault. For obstacles like rails and low walls at least.

  • yeah but sometimes you know you just wanna have a lil fun and dash vault is really much more flourishy

  • uhmmmm...no..he really described a speed vault

  • I am sick of people who DON'T practice Parkour or Free running trying to correct the tutorials... Learn correct terminology. However, this is a great tutorial.

  • amen to that

  • this is speed vault

  • This is definetley a speed vault. If you sit at home and watch you tube and thats all you know of parkour you shouldnt bother posting comments.

  • guys this is a speedvault so stfu

  • hey i posted a video with my speed vault, it's not great but i just would like you to tell me how to improve it, i can only jump like 1 or 1,50 meter/s

  • thanks imma try this:)

  • dude teomosu is right.

  • U might want to check your source bro. This is a speed vault, if you try to hurdle the obstacle then use your hand you are just using unnecessary energy. Your hand is to help you glide over the obstacle esily, you reach as you are in mid air, nor before of after.

  • @UrbanCurrent his comment adresses what you said, when you use your hand, use it to push foward, this also helps level out your body after the vault

  • 1: You described a DASH vault.

2: Speed vaults are generally faster than dash vaults on walls higher than midriff-height because you don't have to BLOCK to get UP over the wall.

  • @teomosu I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing, if I'm correct they're part of Hawaii Parkour?

  • @teomosu dats a dash vault

  • @teomosu no actually that's a Dash vault my friend...

  • @teomosu ur wrong that is a speed vault and u suck because u can nothing about parkour stupid assh*le

  • @topplopp LOL... First: that is a little uncalled for. Second: do you know me to say what you said? Grow up or get a life for everybody's sake.

  • @teomosu that is a dash vault

  • @teomosu what you are describing sounds more like a lazy vault not a speed vault

  • @teomosu what you're talking about is a dash vault, and it's still not a good vault to use because you're already losing momentum when trying to get over it before using your hands.

  • thanks for the tutorial! I've been scared of not jumping high enough but taking it in steps like this looks easy.

  • looks easy, did u did it perfect?

  • oh i was finding out how to speedvault something higher, like a 6 foot wall

  • I'm quite sure you don't speedvault anything higher than chest height. For something that's six foot tall, you'd probably be pop-vaulting it.

  • lol, doing this vault is hard for me, because of the area i live... damn u ny.

  • yah Im in hutto tx and the is like nothing around here that you can do this with.

  • No sweat. I lived in elgin and still managed. Even if you're on 100% unincorporated land, you got fences, hay bails, trees...

  • Whaaaat? The area you live in has nothing do with your ability to do a speed vault. Im sure you have railings and walls in New York, correct?

  • thank you very much.this video helpd me the speed vault

  • are the ariakes good be cause i ve bought my self a pair of five ten and i wanna no which is beter

  • i have the ari never used 5 tens but they have to be better for sure i bought mine for 40 bucks no one likes them down here in miami once i waste them imma get 5 10s

  • Is it bad that I want to be you? :P

  • the slow motion sequence was awesome. is it the camera or an editing program?

  • Its an editing program. Sony vegas, And Adobe After effects have it, not to sure what other 1's

  • hey, thanks man. also found the sony hdr-hc7, can record 12 seconds of slow mo. thanks for the tip :)

  • It's also attributable to a camera with a crazy high FPS. Using a mobile phone camera or just your regular camcorder would make a sequence like that look like shit.

  • i can do this and a roll, thx guys

  • Does it matter what leg you touch down with?

  • well yeah cuz if you do everything on left and then land on right isn't effective. you can't start runnin as fast as if you land on left but if you think it feels good than do so

  • yep, you should land with your inside foot.

    (more stability).

  • Ty guys.

  • doubt it

  • your neighborhood is fascinating

  • thank you for the tutorial im semi-new to parkour and now tht ive got the lazy vault down, im moving on to this. Great Tutorial!

  • this was useful, I was kicking with my both legs XD

Now I can jump over rails higher then my waist, thx

  • in a speed cault doesn't kickin both or one of your legs make u go faster? cuz some of my friends do so i was just wanderin

  • name of the song

  • haha. nice vid. thanks man. anyway. may i know whats the name of the song

  • good explanations

  • Thank you very much mate, one more vault for the arsenal! xD

  • nice slomo' :P

  • I have to wonder for both this and the kong. Any advice for those of us with wimpy legs who can't just jump clean over something six feet above our heads?

  • do it on somthing waist height, while ur learning you won't be able to do somthing at that height. and if you can't do waist, try knee, then work ur way up

  • great tutorial

but isn't the obstacle a little high for an effective speed vault?

nyways i love yr tutorials guys

  • In this case yeah, but I figure people would find their own, you know.
