@heintron I don't know how things are up in Sweden but its a mess over here in the Untied States. I don't know if your Government is trying to help your country or trying to run its economy into the ground and bankrupt it but that is what her videos are all about and even tho there funny as hell she tells the truth about how our government is fucking us over, but they are not retarted.
I'm sure you get this a lot, and I'm not trying to be creepy or anything lol, but you are really beautiful. Not only that, you have a brain. =) thats all.
Why don't you check out the OECD quality health care indicators..... Never mind you're of the don't let your truth interfere with my subjective reality ilk. Providing universal healthcare is chump change compared to our budget, but we'd rather spend 700 billion dollars more in defense then the second highest country and give tax cuts to the wealthy. Republicans: funded by corporations and voted in by the ignorant to reduce your quality of life.
Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. We pay more for health care than any other country in the developed world and get worse results. Are we supposed to conclude from this that the insurance companies are doing such a bang-up job? Also, the Obama health care reform is light-years away from "turning over health care to the government." That would be what they have in England. No politician of any stature in the United States is advocating that.
essentially, republicans want all human beings to eventually die so two or three really rich cockroaches can rule the planet, while liberals want to see wealth more evenly distributed. Its not that liberals are perfect or always right, but I like their direction better.
@thereinliestherib I think that applies to both of us, quite clearly, and its a good statement. No one is a "republican" or "liberal" we're all complex human beings with, I believe, a common interest in the welfare of ourselves and those around us.
@mrrealtime A "common interest" doesn't do much to explain a country with a 70% obesity/overweight rate, in which the disproportionate burden of an extraordinarily unhealthy population falls to the healthy and responsible, especially young struggling students. It doesn't do much to explain such radical inequity fashioned into law under the guises of a socially progressive program, either.
@thereinliestherib If you want to be fair, the obese population is a direct result of corporations being allowed to market unhealthy products to people with little or no regulation. Cigarettes, McDonalds etc. And yes, obesity is not just the problem of the obese, its everyone's problem. No one lives in isolation, we all effect each other, we are all on the same planet. Believe it or not, if others are healthy, your life is directly enriched. If others are educated, same thing.
@mrrealtime What crap! Less than 5% of the overall population has congenitally-caused weight problems. That hardly accounts for the other 65% who are obese/overweight, and it hardly explains why many remain healthy despite being exposed to the same circumstances. If what you're saying were true, health stats would be universally distributed. However they're not, and the least healthy 5% consumes 70% of health costs, on the backs of the healthy who absurdly share their same insurance pools.
@thereinliestherib I dont recall mentioning anything about congenital, so you appear to be shadowboxing. That said, regardless of why people are obese, poor, living unhealthy lifestyles for ANY reason, it is a problem that doesnt just affect them, it affects all of us, so we all need to work together to solve the problem. Anyone who thinks some people can live totally independently of everyone else in the world is deluded - and part of the problem.
@mrrealtime Indeed their poor health is a problem, because their added cost to the insurance pool is the primary driving force of rising American health costs, costs which directly coincide with plummeting national health stats. I have no monetary sympathy for fat people just as I have no sympathy for bad drivers who drive up my auto insurance costs; in fact, in every other form of insurance BUT health insurance, the more risky pay MORE to offset their unfair, added costs to the pool.
@thereinliestherib but repubs(excuse the broad brush but i mean the movement, not the individuals) want to send all the obese to an island where they can die, and the libs want to fight the problem with education, better health programs, decreasing wealth disparity (which is the primary cause of obesity paradoxically) etc. Repubs generally have a short-sighted idea of justice...capital punishment, kill the bad guys, kill everyone who disagrees with you...be decisive...bomb your problems...
@mrrealtime Give me one statement supporting such hyperbole. Like it or not, but this country's poor health is exactly why HC costs are so high, not corporate conspiracies. HC reform could just as well have been funded with taxes on unhealthy goods and services. But that would take away the industry's revenue gem of insurance mandates and overly restrictive buying constraints, which they generously funded DEMOCRATS to give them--and they got em wholesale, no matter how unconstitutional!
This video makes me sick. People like you are the reason nurses are seen as ditzy bimbos incapable of making life or death decisions. No wonder we have a nursing shortage if this is the image you put out there for us.
Please do all nurses a favor and play dressup in a sexy secretary costume or something.
"choose to go to another" ? really? without government regulation, there's nothing stopping mergers from happening, and then you simply wont have a choice. Instead of a government that at least pretends to be democratic, you have a single corporation that controls everything. Thats already happening quickly...and as government gets less and less power, corporations with no need to obey the constitution or anything, will simply take over (as if they already havent) You seem a bit naive.
@mrrealtime no one is disputing there needs to be some reglulation but not absolute control. And seriously as long as competition is allowed ,then the natural state of things is people will go where they will get the best service, cheaper prices and better product. Isn't that how you go about things in your life? And the govt IS a monopoly and the govt IS already not obeying the constitution- so what's your point?
@mrrealtime You already have and are accepting that which you fear- your just more comfortable because it carries the name "government" and not "corporation" (but the practice is the same)
@mrrealtime one more thing. do you understand how many in government sit on boards, own or are invested in those big corps. you hate??? No, I am naive, I see the truth.
@mrrealtime Yeah, the regulation argument is BS. It flies in the face of every historical precedent under which govt regulatory bodies ended up serving the very industries they're supposed to regulate, and used their legal authority to give monopolistic leverage to the industry over consumers. Obamacare is no different. But its funny how the left refuses to see what's right in front of them in the form of excessive mandates and buying restrictions that punish good health with higher costs.
@thereinliestherib right...so since regulation is BS, its better to just let corporations run whatever agenda they want...completely unfettered by even the pretense of a government thats publicly elected. You "righties" are the ones who are short sighted. What needs to happen is the regulatory process...as you rightly point out...needs to be fixed and tightened up, not thrown away completely so corps can have a free for all ...damn the public in the name of profit!
@mrrealtime Strawman. I never said throw out regulation, I just wish you toolbags would actually reserve some skepticism for regulatory agencies in light of, oh, say, the fact that the housing boom was perpetuated and enabled by the very regulatory bodies that were supposed to protect us from such greed. Insurance regulators serve the industry; they are their greatest contributors, and on paper they never fail to give insurers more mandates, restrictions, and leverage over consumers.
@thereinliestherib this "toolbag" agreed that the regulatory system is broken in many ways, largely due to the lobbying of ever more powerful corporations. But, that doesnt mean the concept of regulation is bad, it means corporations have become far too powerful thanks to Reagan and the Bushes simply by letting lobbyists rule the roost. George Bush Jr. was the first openly purchased president, he did not win by majority but instead was placed there by Halliburton et al, openly.
@mrrealtime So I guess you don't want to hear that Obama&co run largely the same operation. You never hear about it, but HC co's gave more to dem's in 09 by far, and consequently they were handed a bill that caused their stocks to skyrocket. Now their fighting the opposition to Obamacare, but somehow you guys on the left can't seem to connect the dots between money, actions, and outcomes when it comes to a grossly corrupt bill that primarily burdens healthy workers, not "evil" corp's.
@thereinliestherib I never stated Obama was a saint or that he didnt get there with corporate help. The concept of a pure govt that exists as an independent body whose sole purpose is to uphold the public good is clearly not possible under the current circumstances. Repubs seem OK with that and want to push it even further until governments elected by the people are entirely powerless and corps can totally rule, and liberals in their idealism hope to return us to public accountability.
@mrrealtime Which is why republicans are the only ones fighting a bill that radically entrenches corporate interests in the households of the working class? Clearly you don't have your facts straight. If anything, both parties are equally deserving of the kind of skepticism you cite, but that never comes up among the left wings of the DNC. If any body actually represents your attitude, it's the tea party; which is why they get slandered as racist rubes and so forth, to cast them as outsiders.
@thereinliestherib I have no doubt both sides are being played by corporations, I'm arguing ideology, not specific points of this health bill although my understanding of its intent is to make quality healthcare more accessible to a wider range of citizens. Barack went to Repubs saying, hey if you have a better idea for making healthcare more available...I'm listening. Repubs simply responded with "no, healthcare should only be available to the rich. the poor can go f themselves"
@mrrealtime That's such bull. "Here, eat this turd sandwich, unless you can make a better turd sandwich." A turd sandwich is a turd sandwich, and the bill's expansion of coverage is laid on the backs of the working class and the healthy, will pour billions into corporate coffers through mandates and buying restrictions, and it doesn't even address that plummeting national health is the primary cause of our HC costs. The bill perpetuates and worsens the status quo.
so wait, corporations are somehow MORE responsible than the government? Aren't they the ones effectively bankrupting the government so it has no ability to regulate them anymore, effectively letting them use slave labor to produce , among other things, drugs that only keep us sick?
@mrrealtime No, i am more responsible than the government and if i am unhappy with one corp. than I will choose to go to another and please don't think the corporations don't have the govt in their pockets. Who really benefits from obama care? the insurance companies... the govt is forcing us to purchase their services- with no choice.
@mrrealtime You mean the dangerous drugs that the govt tries to keep pushing on us ?(Pushed by the drug companies that push them ) vaccinations, etc. Just last year they create some pandemic hoax to push the swine flu vaccinations on us. seriously open your eyes- Govt is BIG business and if you don't want to use a corporation who uses slave labor- choose another company to buy from. But of course with with our govt in bed with China- kind of hard to do, isn't it. isn't Big Govt.t great!?
@mrreal YES, corps, banks etc ARE more responsible. They answer to boards etc who expect good business decisions OR ELSE. I come from a time Pre-Fannie/ Freddie. Banks were solid. They made sure WE were the ones who saved for a down payent, that it was not a gift. Our sweat was their insurance. We needed hefty downpayents & they demanded we had sufficient income for payments. THEN the govt forced banks to give them to folks who had nothing of themselves invested. They ofcourse defaulted. Sad.
@JayJayhope Don't let the cat out of the bag! Don't tell the liberals that out here in the real world it's compete or die! Govt would be gone in a day!
@merman08 well actually, they have very good insurance plans that yes, are paid for by the taxpayers-as we do pay for their incomes-since, you know, they hold public office. However, the govt has actually excluded themselves from Obama's health care plan. funny, huh?
@merman08 And many have asked, " gee, if it is such a great plan, why do they not take part in it?" the fact that they are given a waiver from it, says a lot about how "desirable" this plan really is? Doesn't it make sense that those who want to force the people into something, be made to do it as well?
Belinda Stronach had nipple saving, breast reconstruction surgery done in California, not her cancer surgery which was performed in Toronto. That former MP is worth multi-millions that can afford the best boob doctor on the planet, millions of Americans can't King. Fuck em eh?!
Your right about one thing, do you realize how may canadians will die if they can't get access to private health care in the U.S.? Just ask Belinda Stronach ex-Canadian MP and a strong supporter of Canadian Health Care, Who had her cancer surgery done in the States. If this Canadian member of parliment and defender of the Canadian Health Care doesn't trust the Canadian system, then why should I?
Another great video Sharis! Don't let the uneducated socialists get you down. They are the lemmings looking to grab a government tit and cling to life on it... What person could look themselves in the mirror and feel any sense of worth when they can't get out of their moms basement. I mean really 26 and living at home? COME ON.. Grow up and fend for yourselves.
corporations have berucrats too.and they have people in india doing that too.ever deal with at&t customer service.ever have a ins co deny or delay care? ever see ups serve a small rural town.ever see exon ,bp clean up thier mess voluntarily ?ever see mcdonalds call the ins?ever see a corporation enlist in the marine corps? and work and die for peanuts?
Right now we only have a private healthcare. Why not have both public and private? There is nothing wrong with public schools... so if you had your way you would only have private schools? SO only the should learn? That sounds kind of retarded much like most of your other videos I've seen so far HOWEVER chances are my comment will not get posted because you have a filter on comments. You are the first person on youtube I've come across that screens their comments like this.
I came from a country where health care was run by the government and it was just fine. There I never saw a doctor's bill in my life. And it was cheap too. As another example in Japan the cost of tests like MRIs or catscans are 10 times lower and guess what - doctors work their butt and are part of the middle class. This video is republican crap. They want rich richer and poor poorer. What's amazing is that many of the middle class and poor do not realize that. Not many smart people America !
@so70aeiou So explain to me Chaoulli v. Quebec, which essentially declared that a government run system a violation of human rights, due to long wait times that eventually lead to the deaths of people, with problems that could have been easily cured?
@macitymac1 The only reason that the government doesn't run the US healthcare is so that the rich assholes don't have to wait in line, cause they think they are more important then the poor ones. In case you haven't noticed, Quebec isn't exactly on board with all of the things Canada does. The wait time is not that bad, really just gotta stop being so damn impatient, a rich person has the same right to live as a poor one therefor the wait should be equally spread out. It Works better in Canada.
@BlurredVisi0n Yeah, it's not the right to life as much as that everyone gets treated no matter the economic status, because it's illegal here. And I'm sorry, if I have a broken leg, I expect to get treated before some poor schmuck on medicaid with a cold (which happens here more than you think). And equal, last time I checked, healthcare is a service, just like anything else. You want people to pay cheaper healthcare costs, let the market do it's job.
@BlurredVisi0n And the only reason that our healthcare system isn't run by the government is because here, healthcare is treated as it is, a service, not a right. Once we get the lawyers out of the ER's, and allow people to buy health insurance the same way they get car insurance, costs will go down dramatically. Also, if you actually worked with the hospital, you could structure your bill like a car or loan payment, to where it's not a financial burden.
@macitymac1It works better if everyone pays slightly more tax and gets their health care, hell if the governmental wanted to cover car insurance, and everyone who drove a car had to pay a bit of extra tax i'd be down with that. In Canada, cars aren't valued on the same level as humans. I have relatives without money who would be dead without the government healthcare. I say take all the money your Country spends starting wars and put it into healthcare, but we both know that won't happen.
@BlurredVisi0n haha, your a funny guy, without our country spending money on wars (we may have started second Iraq war, that's debatable), your wealth envy wouldn't exist. I'm sick and tired of people who don't live here, saying that our way of life sucks, and that all we do is start wars for our own personal gain, but then when something happens to your country or someone else's country who bitches about us, needs us, they are quick to change their tune.
@BlurredVisi0n And you know what else I'm sick of, giving money to those fair-weather fans. How about this though, when Canada does actually do something meaningful, say stop putting Queen Elizabeth on your currency like every other member of the british empire, or actually being able to do something without grovelling to our government first, let me know.
@macitymac1 What are these "fair-weather fans" you speak of? I don't think it's too important who is on our money, at least ours doesn't say "In God We Trust." We have to "grovel" with the US before we do things because it's larger and more aggressive then Canada. We're also not $54,911,821,900,000 in debt. (54.9 trillion)
@BlurredVisi0n Indeed in Canada you have been cutting back on gov including health care via privatization. Good idea. Let's privatize health care here in USA as it really is mostly gov-run anyway. Where has gov reduced costs on ANYTHING? No Where. Highest costs of health care in USA: MA, the only state w/100% single-payer health care. Highest rate of increase in cost on health care: MA. Single-payer HC has been a failure in 4 states: MA, ME, HI & TN. It's insane to have the fed gov handle it.
i agree that the government is corrupt and irresponsible, but you talk about handing it over as though it belonged to us in the first place. if you're smart enough to distrust government control of things, you should realize that big corporations and insurance companies are no more trustworthy (and share control the populous, if not more so than the govt.)
@tayloroftheland And I am sure you realize that if you are doing business with a corrupt company, you can choose to take your business elsewhere, but when it it the corrupt govt that runs things, then where else can you go? Competition and demand will correct the situation as long the govt stays out of it. And exactly who do you think is hand in hand with corrupt insurance companies? The exact ones that obama has now just promised would receive our business -by force.
@RestrainedNoMore are you telling me theres an uncorrupt insurance company i can switch to? i would be pleasantly super-surprised. also, the bill that got passed isnt socialization. i disagree that competition and demand correct the evils of corrupt corporations- history has shown that to be outdated half-baked capitalist theory, just like the trickle down effect- the government is already protecting those companies (who corroborate with eachother regularly to maintain their strangle hold.)
@NavinJohnson90 - The difference between doing business with the corrupt government and corrupt companies is that the Government costs far far more, and has the power to take that money out of your paycheck. That's the difference
@Slipknotyk06 what evidence is there that socialized healthcare is much more expensive than corporate healthcare (obviously this is a hypothetical argument because healthcare wont be socialized in the united states, contrary to beckaganda.) it seems to me that taking money out of your paycheck and selling you something you need at bullshit prices isnt really that much different. if youre worried about being robbed, look at the military budget, or compare insurance costs with the benefits.
@tayloroftheland - Overhead. The typical Health Insurance company runs 13% overhead with 7% or less profit margin. Medicare has a 497 billion budget and pay out 357 billion in benefits. This equates to 40% overhead, so the Private Market doubles the efficiency of the Public Sector. The NHS runs even greater overhead than medicare, by the way.
@Slipknotyk06 thats pretty convincing. but i still feel like there may be some factors we arent considering. maybe medicare's overhead ends up someplace more beneficial than an insurance companies? would the hypothetical imaginary socializedhealth care we're talking about be run the same as medicare? whered you get your statistics from? you seem pretty knowledgeable about these things. i however, dont know the difference between medicare and medicaid. nhs means national health service? like uk?
@tayloroftheland - IDK, much of that overhead goes to wages and benefits of a bloated bureaucracy. Medicare alone has tens of billions in unfunded liabilities for Government pensions. In addition, these people are Union (AFL-CIO) employees that have an average wage of double the Private Sector average.
I got my information from usgovernmentspending (dot) com
NHS is the UK's universal health care bureaucracy.
@RestrainedNoMore I would say that your ability to regulate the government is far supirior than your ability to regulate the health care industry. In a working democracy, if you don't like what the government is doing, you vote and work to change it. The only thing you can do to hold the health care industry accountable is to choose a competitor. When all competitors care more about profits than the welfare of their clients, what can you do?
You can't argue worth shit either. Nobody was ever forced to get insurance. Stop watching Glen Beck you cunt. This is my last comment don't worry, but my God you really are a tool. Let me guess, your daddy who raped you was also a conservative, and so was his dad who raped him, and so on, and so on.
man, you truly are a bore & why so riled up? let's see for someone who says I can't argue and then throws around personal attacks instead of reasonable debate - seems to me, you are the one lacking in the skills for a worthy argument .
@Grungadin You are so ill-informed, overly emotional and irrational, you resort to "cunt",my being raped, my father being raped, etc. But no discussion on the topic at hand- so, who is it that can't argue worth shit? comment all you like, it's always a thrill when someone like you shows how truly ignorant & hate-filled they are. However, I do not have the time or desire to entertain your stupidity
@RestrainedNoMore hey its been a long time since we exchanged comments. have your opinions changed at all? what are your opinions about the wars? cablegate? my hopes associated with the obama administration is that the anger conservatives have towards the govt will inspire them to realize that their preferred politicians are ALSO full of shit, and that its all a complex system of illusion and slavery.
Allow insurance companies to compete and customers will save as opposed to government forced monopolies that are going on right now. Competition invariably reduces prices. Outlaw government mandated coverage that is currently happening. Why should a man have to pay for OBGYN coverage, thereby increasing his costs? Tort reform. If doctors didn't have to spend 1/3 of their income protecting themselves from lawsuits, costs would decrease. Increase medicaid/medicare payments so they cover dr costs.
In newspaper with front page Obama victory, Illinois Lottery's draw was 666 on Page 2, Bible's Mark of the Beast, announcing Antichrist.
Also, it can be seen Obama has many, severe head-scars. Bible states "Antichrist suffers mortal head-wound". Calculating Antichrist's 42 months rule, starting from Obama's July/ Aug/Sept 2007 rise in the run for POTUS, 42 months is just now Jan/Feb
@tayloroftheland Hello,In newspaper with front page Obama victory, Illinois Lottery's draw was 666 on Page 2, Bible's Mark of the Beast, announcing Antichrist.
@ObamasTheBeast does it say who'll replace him? biblical prophecies are insufficient proof to me to believe something. i havent noticed the head scars. obamas just a puppet for a group of far more sinister and powerful people, and they have control regardless of who sings and dances for us. while im on this soapbox id like to suggest to anyone reading to quit eating processed sugar that shit is an addictive toxic drug- not food. google sugar health effects and or sugar addiction.
@tayloroftheland "does it say who'll replace him? biblical prophecies are insufficient proof to me to believe something. i havent noticed the head scars. obamas just a puppet for a group of far more sinister and powerful people, "
Your argument falls, it's not because you don't see anyone to replace Obama that you have to keep him. Change him.
@ObamasTheBeast i sincerely dont understand your reply. were you under the impression that i was some obama fan? what do you mean you have to keep him, change him? please elaborate i'm endlesslycurious. or were you just being vague because you realized you had no significantresponse? my asking about who replaces him was a precursor to the argument that it doesntmatter who sits in the presidential seat until that seat actually means something- due to REALchange, it was also a joke at your expense
Illinois Lottery's drew 666 on Page 2, in newspaper with front page Obama victory (Bible's Mark of the Beast, announcing Antichrist).
Also, it can be seen Obama has many, severe head-scars. Bible states "Antichrist suffers mortal head-wound". Calculating Antichrist's 42 months rule, starting from Obama's July/ Aug/Sept 2007 rise in the run for office, 42 months is just now Jan/Feb
@BeastObrahma why are you so insistent that i like obama? im sincerely trying to get you to explain things to me but clearly youre another dumbshit trying to sound smart, because you resort to insults, instead of kicking knowledge. hey enjoy that self-righteousness dipshit.
hey, i have this king james bible here it says you're a dumbfuck.
no but really you should reconsider your thought processes and debate practices
I keep challenging people to please name just ONE thing the government has its hand in that has gotten BETTER in the past 30 years... *crickets chirping
God, he's turning us into Canada...and we can't assassinate him, because then all the black people will be "YOU RASIST WHITIES!!! THEY KILT EM BEACUSE HE WAS A BLACK MAN!"
Should have used Phillipino and Spanish. 4,000,000 uninsured in our US Territories they included in the bill. That will be 40 billion going overseas and not to the states.
Actually, Social Security has worked very well. And moving education to the private sector is now proving to be no better. The problem is people don't realize that our way of life is built on the backs of third world countries, low wages paid overseas, and our DEBT is from buying too much crap we don't need.
Has anyone in America bothered to check half of the western world for whether public health care works? No didn't think so. As a Canadian, I can say it works and I probably wouldn't be aliave if it didn't. Yes we bitch about it, but we'll bitch about it until we have the bacta tank, and that doesn't proove anything.
yes, and thats why we are so against it. I like being able to see a specialist when i need it. not wait in line and get 14 opinions, then get put on a waiting list
I can't stand listening to Americans talk about "government healthcare" in hypothetical terms ... "What if the guverment run healthcare Bubba...?"... as if nobody has tried it yet.
Newsflash: It's already being done.
Besides, healthcare provider remain private under these systems.
@RestrainedNoMore As opposed to the current US system when the under insured are going bankrupt. As long as they can make it to 65 they have a chance.
@RestrainedNoMore See if you live in a society that does not kill people who are too costly to treat then one way or another you are paying for universal health care.
So your tax money is going in to Medicaid/Medicare & hospital emergency rooms no matter what. The difference is a crap load of money is going in to 150 different competing insurance companies in stead of one system. There is no competitive edge ether your medical cost are covered at a fair price or they are not covered.
@XFuncCaRteR Newsflash: our gov't, is not only innefficient, they are corrupt and have their slimy ways of skimming and receiving kickbacks, routing money. HC providers will change as good docs will leave and crappy ones (that should have been lawyers but couldn't make the grade before and now can make it through med school since standards will be lowered) will remain.
The goverment should cut ALL healthcare that it is involved right now especially "MEDICARE" then this country wouldn't be in bankruptcy by 2025.BTW, I'm paying into medicare right now.
We have a free public heath system called Medicare...it's far from perfect, and there are long waiting lists if you need an operation. Australia is one of the most over taxed countries in the world, and more of the tax dollars need to be spent on health care.
The Government can't even effectively operate a "Cash For Clunkers" program. What makes people thing that health care would be any different? Get the government out of people's lives. Lower some taxes and we'd be able to afford quality health insurance. I can't believe that so many Americans are this naive. For those of you who talk about Canada: My wife FLED Canada because she could not get the care she needed. 3 American doctors visits and a 6 month prescription. Total cost: Less than $800.00
In the UK our National Health service was introduced after WW2. It was the least our then Government could do for it`s people after fighting 2 WW.Before this time you had to pay a doctor before he`d see you.
I have to say this, that after 60 years of abuse by those that pay no National Ins contributions..it is failing.
Old people that have paid throughout there lives into this system now have to sel there homes for care. I beleive the last to do this was the Roman Empire.
this is a load of bullshit, as if the private sector wasn't a greedy piece of shit industry always looking for ways to rape the customers and rob them of all the money they can
I hope people rate this video high because this whore is showing her boobs, otherwise USA is a country of mentally retarded people
ah, I wish you would inform yourself before speaking out on issues. but maybe you're just getting payed by someone from the health care industry.
You talk about "handing health care over to the governmet", but do you understand that congress is discussing reforms to the health INSURANCE industry? This has to do with the amount you pay for your health insurance, and nothing to do with hospitals or doctors. Its the "money" part of health care that the private industry cant handle,
get informed??? being paid by some from the health care industry?? sure. why don't you educate your self with the information on the sidebar?? ok. how about ask yourself, all knowing one, if this reform was so great and necessary, why wait 4years to put it into practice, why wont Washington take part in it? why did obama boy make deals with big Pharma and big insurance? this isn't about quality, affordable care, this is about more control
more control by a govt that failed in cash for clunkers, where medicare and medicaid are almost broke, where they called a wine flu pandemic and don't have the vaccines to vaccinate and when they do, they are tainted. feel free to be the first in line to receive help from your leaders.
swine flu not wine flu, sorry about that. typing quickly to get this out before I move on with my evening. if this was about health ins. reform, then why not allow folks to buy insurance across state lines which would allow more competition and better prices??? there are other ways to fix a problem than your life. but if you are okay with having them access to your bank account, to tax you if your ins isn't to "govt standards" or throw you in jail if you refuse to buy.
and of course this has everything to do with doctors and hospitals. in order to control costs they will limit care ( as England does) they are going to tax people for life saving devices-such as insulin pumps for diabetics, and other necessary medical devices needed to keep people alive. this keeps costs down??. please go research for yourself and don't take my word for it.
now I am finished. i need to carry on. this plan is going to cost the average American tremendously and limit care, treatments, tests, etc. to keep them alive. they already are trying to do this saying (against the cancer societies and doctor advise) to not get mammograms before the age of 50or not get cervical cancer screenings or prostate screenings till much later than what has been originally deemed necessary.
one more final thought. if you can't see how the govt is the greediest of all -just look at the bailouts of the banks? has it helped you? unemployment is still up to 10%. the govt is filled with corruption. the difference between private sector and govt is that if competition is allowed, then a person can choose a different company, service, etc.-the fear of loss of business will keep business in check. again if the govt stays out of it!
But, when it's the corrupt govt. in control, then what choice do we have? where else can we go? no where. we have no place to go. our freedom of choice is gone and we become enslaved by power-hungry politicians. if that is the hands you want to put your health care into, be my guest. But I will look at how other countries have failed-or look at Massachusetts and Oregon-both have single payer programs, both broke and failing and people are dying and being denied treatment .
@RestrainedNoMore I hate to tell you this but we are in a deficit of 3 Million nurses and according to the ANA, will lose a million more within the next 10 years. If you look it up, you'll find that the system started by Medicare and Medicaid, and the ins. comp that follow like systems are the culprit. They decreased the pay and forced us to start Managed Health System and lose nurses. This put more pressure on existing nurses, thus, they quit.
agreed and that's why the liberals who voted for this thing won't be running for re-election in 2010. my grandpa told us during dinner tonight that a senator or rep who voted for the healthcare bill was booed out of a restaurant.
the commie scum should have been grateful he was only booed out had my way i would have the sons of liberty carve the word fed on chest in front of his family
this is the same flawless govt that failed to keep the people safe with their "system"which allowed and a bomber-with no passport, one way ticket who paid in cash onto a plane. now thankfully, he didn't succeed. But not because of the brilliance of our govt, but because of the stupidity of the bomber and the actions of a fellow passenger on the plane.
and you want to trust this inept govt with making choices with your or your loved ones lives?
then y do people in canada live 5 years longer then us and y is it that every other country pays a hell of a lot less then us i dont think single payer would be good for our country just incase a republican becomes president but the public option as in just an option that people pay into if they want to sounds good so that way its there for people who get layed off and cant afford health care on there own or if some1 has a pre existing condiction and the insurance companys dont want them and to
keep the insurance companys from randomly droping people or saying that rape is a pre existing condition and canada has better health care then people think i no many people who live there and say how wonderful it is 92% of canadians love there health care and hawaii has a type of universal health care program and rush limbaugh seemed to like that
@RestrainedNoMore People with government funded, physician run, single payer health care systems are far more satisfied with their health care than there are Americans satisfied with inusrance run and rationed health care. American health care, which is run and rationed by insurance company bureaucrats wedged between Amercian patients and their physician gives amercians the worst health care in the inudtrialized world. American health care ranks 19th out 19 industrialized nations.
@murphyj87 The biggest fallacy in debate is that the health insurance industry started all this... They are only abiding by the rules the federal government put in place. The average health insurance company only averages like a 4% profit for the year. How can an industry with a 4% profit margin be responsible for the dramatic increases in health cost?
I totally agree with you, babe!! I DO NOT like Big Pharma, or any of the multinationalmegacorps, but this is a battle that WE could win. Going to the docter is bad enough now. Just WAIT till the government controls it.
I totally love you dear & what U R trying to do. But I ask you, what's the difference between government & big business in this country? They sleep together. They both have raped & ruined our nation, our health, our employment, our education, our resources, our economy and our people as well as those of every 3rd world nation on the globe. Our corporations & our government is sick to the marrow of their bones. And the public is divided; some like in a tizzy dizzy rage and some in a silly coma.
A single payer system would work. A de-regulated free market would work ALSO. This "meeting in the middle" bullshit will NOT work.
If the majority doesn't want a single payer option, then we should de-regulate the health insurance industry as it is now and allow the free market to work. Let companies sprout and offer better services. If one company's service or product isn't up to par, they will suffer under a truly free market.
I am Canadian and i have been on both sides of the bourder. You guys to the south are nuts you have one of the lowest life spans on any of the 1st world nations and somehow think your doing it right ,and yet u believe the crap your told about how evil our socialized med is lol >

Your system is just about as messed up as ours it's just that we were bigger and it ain't easy being raised right and smart in a nation so big. It's hard to see the forest when you're lost among the trees. You Canadians have the advantage of watching us from your lofty perches.

Republicans: funded by corporations and voted in by the ignorant to reduce your quality of life.
sarge525 9 months ago
Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. We pay more for health care than any other country in the developed world and get worse results. Are we supposed to conclude from this that the insurance companies are doing such a bang-up job? Also, the Obama health care reform is light-years away from "turning over health care to the government." That would be what they have in England. No politician of any stature in the United States is advocating that.

mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime A broad brush is a narrow mind.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib I think that applies to both of us, quite clearly, and its a good statement. No one is a "republican" or "liberal" we're all complex human beings with, I believe, a common interest in the welfare of ourselves and those around us.
mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime A "common interest" doesn't do much to explain a country with a 70% obesity/overweight rate, in which the disproportionate burden of an extraordinarily unhealthy population falls to the healthy and responsible, especially young struggling students. It doesn't do much to explain such radical inequity fashioned into law under the guises of a socially progressive program, either.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib If you want to be fair, the obese population is a direct result of corporations being allowed to market unhealthy products to people with little or no regulation. Cigarettes, McDonalds etc. And yes, obesity is not just the problem of the obese, its everyone's problem. No one lives in isolation, we all effect each other, we are all on the same planet. Believe it or not, if others are healthy, your life is directly enriched. If others are educated, same thing.
mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime What crap! Less than 5% of the overall population has congenitally-caused weight problems. That hardly accounts for the other 65% who are obese/overweight, and it hardly explains why many remain healthy despite being exposed to the same circumstances. If what you're saying were true, health stats would be universally distributed. However they're not, and the least healthy 5% consumes 70% of health costs, on the backs of the healthy who absurdly share their same insurance pools.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib I dont recall mentioning anything about congenital, so you appear to be shadowboxing. That said, regardless of why people are obese, poor, living unhealthy lifestyles for ANY reason, it is a problem that doesnt just affect them, it affects all of us, so we all need to work together to solve the problem. Anyone who thinks some people can live totally independently of everyone else in the world is deluded - and part of the problem.
mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime Indeed their poor health is a problem, because their added cost to the insurance pool is the primary driving force of rising American health costs, costs which directly coincide with plummeting national health stats. I have no monetary sympathy for fat people just as I have no sympathy for bad drivers who drive up my auto insurance costs; in fact, in every other form of insurance BUT health insurance, the more risky pay MORE to offset their unfair, added costs to the pool.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib but repubs(excuse the broad brush but i mean the movement, not the individuals) want to send all the obese to an island where they can die, and the libs want to fight the problem with education, better health programs, decreasing wealth disparity (which is the primary cause of obesity paradoxically) etc. Repubs generally have a short-sighted idea of justice...capital punishment, kill the bad guys, kill everyone who disagrees with you...be decisive...bomb your problems...
mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime Give me one statement supporting such hyperbole. Like it or not, but this country's poor health is exactly why HC costs are so high, not corporate conspiracies. HC reform could just as well have been funded with taxes on unhealthy goods and services. But that would take away the industry's revenue gem of insurance mandates and overly restrictive buying constraints, which they generously funded DEMOCRATS to give them--and they got em wholesale, no matter how unconstitutional!

"choose to go to another" ? really? without government regulation, there's nothing stopping mergers from happening, and then you simply wont have a choice. Instead of a government that at least pretends to be democratic, you have a single corporation that controls everything. Thats already happening quickly...and as government gets less and less power, corporations with no need to obey the constitution or anything, will simply take over (as if they already havent) You seem a bit naive.
mrrealtime 11 months ago 3
@mrrealtime no one is disputing there needs to be some reglulation but not absolute control. And seriously as long as competition is allowed ,then the natural state of things is people will go where they will get the best service, cheaper prices and better product. Isn't that how you go about things in your life? And the govt IS a monopoly and the govt IS already not obeying the constitution- so what's your point?
RestrainedNoMore 11 months ago
@mrrealtime You already have and are accepting that which you fear- your just more comfortable because it carries the name "government" and not "corporation" (but the practice is the same)
I gotta run, appreciate the conversation
RestrainedNoMore 11 months ago
@mrrealtime one more thing. do you understand how many in government sit on boards, own or are invested in those big corps. you hate??? No, I am naive, I see the truth.
RestrainedNoMore 11 months ago
@mrrealtime Yeah, the regulation argument is BS. It flies in the face of every historical precedent under which govt regulatory bodies ended up serving the very industries they're supposed to regulate, and used their legal authority to give monopolistic leverage to the industry over consumers. Obamacare is no different. But its funny how the left refuses to see what's right in front of them in the form of excessive mandates and buying restrictions that punish good health with higher costs.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib right...so since regulation is BS, its better to just let corporations run whatever agenda they want...completely unfettered by even the pretense of a government thats publicly elected. You "righties" are the ones who are short sighted. What needs to happen is the regulatory process...as you rightly point out...needs to be fixed and tightened up, not thrown away completely so corps can have a free for all ...damn the public in the name of profit!
mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime Strawman. I never said throw out regulation, I just wish you toolbags would actually reserve some skepticism for regulatory agencies in light of, oh, say, the fact that the housing boom was perpetuated and enabled by the very regulatory bodies that were supposed to protect us from such greed. Insurance regulators serve the industry; they are their greatest contributors, and on paper they never fail to give insurers more mandates, restrictions, and leverage over consumers.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib this "toolbag" agreed that the regulatory system is broken in many ways, largely due to the lobbying of ever more powerful corporations. But, that doesnt mean the concept of regulation is bad, it means corporations have become far too powerful thanks to Reagan and the Bushes simply by letting lobbyists rule the roost. George Bush Jr. was the first openly purchased president, he did not win by majority but instead was placed there by Halliburton et al, openly.
mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime So I guess you don't want to hear that Obama&co run largely the same operation. You never hear about it, but HC co's gave more to dem's in 09 by far, and consequently they were handed a bill that caused their stocks to skyrocket. Now their fighting the opposition to Obamacare, but somehow you guys on the left can't seem to connect the dots between money, actions, and outcomes when it comes to a grossly corrupt bill that primarily burdens healthy workers, not "evil" corp's.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib I never stated Obama was a saint or that he didnt get there with corporate help. The concept of a pure govt that exists as an independent body whose sole purpose is to uphold the public good is clearly not possible under the current circumstances. Repubs seem OK with that and want to push it even further until governments elected by the people are entirely powerless and corps can totally rule, and liberals in their idealism hope to return us to public accountability.
mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime Which is why republicans are the only ones fighting a bill that radically entrenches corporate interests in the households of the working class? Clearly you don't have your facts straight. If anything, both parties are equally deserving of the kind of skepticism you cite, but that never comes up among the left wings of the DNC. If any body actually represents your attitude, it's the tea party; which is why they get slandered as racist rubes and so forth, to cast them as outsiders.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
@thereinliestherib I have no doubt both sides are being played by corporations, I'm arguing ideology, not specific points of this health bill although my understanding of its intent is to make quality healthcare more accessible to a wider range of citizens. Barack went to Repubs saying, hey if you have a better idea for making healthcare more available...I'm listening. Repubs simply responded with "no, healthcare should only be available to the rich. the poor can go f themselves"
mrrealtime 10 months ago
@mrrealtime That's such bull. "Here, eat this turd sandwich, unless you can make a better turd sandwich." A turd sandwich is a turd sandwich, and the bill's expansion of coverage is laid on the backs of the working class and the healthy, will pour billions into corporate coffers through mandates and buying restrictions, and it doesn't even address that plummeting national health is the primary cause of our HC costs. The bill perpetuates and worsens the status quo.
thereinliestherib 10 months ago
so wait, corporations are somehow MORE responsible than the government? Aren't they the ones effectively bankrupting the government so it has no ability to regulate them anymore, effectively letting them use slave labor to produce , among other things, drugs that only keep us sick?
mrrealtime 11 months ago 3
@mrrealtime No, i am more responsible than the government and if i am unhappy with one corp. than I will choose to go to another and please don't think the corporations don't have the govt in their pockets. Who really benefits from obama care? the insurance companies... the govt is forcing us to purchase their services- with no choice.
RestrainedNoMore 11 months ago
@mrrealtime You mean the dangerous drugs that the govt tries to keep pushing on us ?(Pushed by the drug companies that push them ) vaccinations, etc. Just last year they create some pandemic hoax to push the swine flu vaccinations on us. seriously open your eyes- Govt is BIG business and if you don't want to use a corporation who uses slave labor- choose another company to buy from. But of course with with our govt in bed with China- kind of hard to do, isn't it. isn't Big Govt.t great!?
RestrainedNoMore 11 months ago
@mrrealtime
RestrainedNoMore 11 months ago
@mrreal YES, corps, banks etc ARE more responsible. They answer to boards etc who expect good business decisions OR ELSE. I come from a time Pre-Fannie/ Freddie. Banks were solid. They made sure WE were the ones who saved for a down payent, that it was not a gift. Our sweat was their insurance. We needed hefty downpayents & they demanded we had sufficient income for payments. THEN the govt forced banks to give them to folks who had nothing of themselves invested. They ofcourse defaulted. Sad.

merman08 11 months ago
@merman08 well actually, they have very good insurance plans that yes, are paid for by the taxpayers-as we do pay for their incomes-since, you know, they hold public office. However, the govt has actually excluded themselves from Obama's health care plan. funny, huh?
RestrainedNoMore 11 months ago
@merman08 And many have asked, " gee, if it is such a great plan, why do they not take part in it?" the fact that they are given a waiver from it, says a lot about how "desirable" this plan really is? @BlurredVisi0n Chaoulli v. Quebec, yeah, look it up, then tell me "it's just fine"
macitymac1 6 months ago
@macitymac1 The only reason that the government doesn't run the US healthcare is so that the rich assholes don't have to wait in line, cause they think they are more important then the poor ones. In case you haven't noticed, Quebec isn't exactly on board with all of the things Canada does. The wait time is not that bad, really just gotta stop being so damn impatient, a rich person has the same right to live as a poor one therefor the wait should be equally spread out. It Works better in Canada.
BlurredVisi0n 6 months ago
@BlurredVisi0n Yeah, it's not the right to life as much as that everyone gets treated no matter the economic status, because it's illegal here. And I'm sorry, if I have a broken leg, I expect to get treated before some poor schmuck on medicaid with a cold (which happens here more than you think). And equal, last time I checked, healthcare is a service, just like anything else. You want people to pay cheaper healthcare costs, let the market do it's job.
macitymac1 6 months ago
@BlurredVisi0n And the only reason that our healthcare system isn't run by the government is because here, healthcare is treated as it is, a service, not a right. Once we get the lawyers out of the ER's, and allow people to buy health insurance the same way they get car insurance, costs will go down dramatically. Also, if you actually worked with the hospital, you could structure your bill like a car or loan payment, to where it's not a financial burden.
macitymac1 6 months ago
@macitymac1It works better if everyone pays slightly more tax and gets their health care, hell if the governmental wanted to cover car insurance, and everyone who drove a car had to pay a bit of extra tax i'd be down with that. In Canada, cars aren't valued on the same level as humans. I have relatives without money who would be dead without the government healthcare. I say take all the money your Country spends starting wars and put it into healthcare, but we both know that won't happen.
BlurredVisi0n 6 months ago
@BlurredVisi0n haha, your a funny guy, without our country spending money on wars (we may have started second Iraq war, that's debatable), your wealth envy wouldn't exist. I'm sick and tired of people who don't live here, saying that our way of life sucks, and that all we do is start wars for our own personal gain, but then when something happens to your country or someone else's country who bitches about us, needs us, they are quick to change their tune.
macitymac1 6 months ago
@BlurredVisi0n And you know what else I'm sick of, giving money to those fair-weather fans. How about this though, when Canada does actually do something meaningful, say stop putting Queen Elizabeth on your currency like every other member of the british empire, or actually being able to do something without grovelling to our government first, let me know.
macitymac1 6 months ago
@macitymac1 What are these "fair-weather fans" you speak of? I don't think it's too important who is on our money, at least ours doesn't say "In God We Trust." We have to "grovel" with the US before we do things because it's larger and more aggressive then Canada. We're also not $54,911,821,900,000 in debt. (54.9 trillion)
BlurredVisi0n 6 months ago
@BlurredVisi0n Indeed in Canada you have been cutting back on gov including health care via privatization. Good idea. Let's privatize health care here in USA as it really is mostly gov-run anyway. Where has gov reduced costs on ANYTHING? No Where. Highest costs of health care in USA: MA, the only state w/100% single-payer health care. Highest rate of increase in cost on health care: MA. Single-payer HC has been a failure in 4 states: MA, ME, HI & TN. It's insane to have the fed gov handle it.

i agree that the government is corrupt and irresponsible, but you talk about handing it over as though it belonged to us in the first place. if you're smart enough to distrust government control of things, you should realize that big corporations and insurance companies are no more trustworthy (and share control the populous, if not more so than the govt.)
tayloroftheland 1 year ago 7
@tayloroftheland And I am sure you realize that if you are doing business with a corrupt company, you can choose to take your business elsewhere, but when it it the corrupt govt that runs things, then where else can you go? Competition and demand will correct the situation as long the govt stays out of it. And exactly who do you think is hand in hand with corrupt insurance companies? The exact ones that obama has now just promised would receive our business -by force.
RestrainedNoMore 1 year ago
@RestrainedNoMore are you telling me theres an uncorrupt insurance company i can switch to? i would be pleasantly super-surprised. also, the bill that got passed isnt socialization. i disagree that competition and demand correct the evils of corrupt corporations- history has shown that to be outdated half-baked capitalist theory, just like the trickle down effect- the government is already protecting those companies (who corroborate with eachother regularly to maintain their strangle hold.)
tayloroftheland 1 year ago
@RestrainedNoMore
take your business elsewhere......to another corrupt company......how is that any different?
NavinJohnson90 1 year ago
@NavinJohnson90 - The difference between doing business with the corrupt government and corrupt companies is that the Government costs far far more, and has the power to take that money out of your paycheck. That's the difference
Slipknotyk06 1 year ago
@Slipknotyk06 what evidence is there that socialized healthcare is much more expensive than corporate healthcare (obviously this is a hypothetical argument because healthcare wont be socialized in the united states, contrary to beckaganda.) it seems to me that taking money out of your paycheck and selling you something you need at bullshit prices isnt really that much different. if youre worried about being robbed, look at the military budget, or compare insurance costs with the benefits.
tayloroftheland 11 months ago
@tayloroftheland - Overhead. The typical Health Insurance company runs 13% overhead with 7% or less profit margin. Medicare has a 497 billion budget and pay out 357 billion in benefits. This equates to 40% overhead, so the Private Market doubles the efficiency of the Public Sector. The NHS runs even greater overhead than medicare, by the way.
Slipknotyk06 11 months ago
@Slipknotyk06 thats pretty convincing. but i still feel like there may be some factors we arent considering. maybe medicare's overhead ends up someplace more beneficial than an insurance companies? would the hypothetical imaginary socializedhealth care we're talking about be run the same as medicare? whered you get your statistics from? you seem pretty knowledgeable about these things. i however, dont know the difference between medicare and medicaid. nhs means national health service? like uk?
tayloroftheland 11 months ago

@RestrainedNoMore As opposed to the current US system when the under insured are going bankrupt. As long as they can make it to 65 they have a chance.
sgtcrab1 1 year ago
@RestrainedNoMore See if you live in a society that does not kill people who are too costly to treat then one way or another you are paying for universal health care.
So your tax money is going in to Medicaid/Medicare & hospital emergency rooms no matter what. The difference is a crap load of money is going in to 150 different competing insurance companies in stead of one system. There is no competitive edge ether your medical cost are covered at a fair price or they are not covered.
Eddythebeast666 1 year ago
@XFuncCaRteR Newsflash: our gov't, is not only innefficient, they are corrupt and have their slimy ways of skimming and receiving kickbacks, routing money. HC providers will change as good docs will leave and crappy ones (that should have been lawyers but couldn't make the grade before and now can make it through med school since standards will be lowered) will remain.

Words of wisdom.
What bush did to our civil rights Obama is doing to our health care.
People are starting to wake up to the fact that both Coke and Pepsi are bad.
I really think we are on a one way road,my friend, and its too late to turn it around.
We need to call up General E Lee and mount the troops.
Instead of a civil war,we will have a class war.
Only God can help us now.
We need a miracle...

I beleive the last to do this was the Roman Empire.

ah, I wish you would inform yourself before speaking out on issues. but maybe you're just getting payed by someone from the health care industry.
You talk about "handing health care over to the governmet", but do you understand that congress is discussing reforms to the health INSURANCE industry? This has to do with the amount you pay for your health insurance, and nothing to do with hospitals or doctors. Its the "money" part of health care that the private industry cant handle,
erjoalgo 2 years ago
get informed??? being paid by some from the health care industry?? sure. why don't you educate your self with the information on the sidebar?? ok. how about ask yourself, all knowing one, if this reform was so great and necessary, why wait 4years to put it into practice, why wont Washington take part in it? why did obama boy make deals with big Pharma and big insurance? this isn't about quality, affordable care, this is about more control
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
more control by a govt that failed in cash for clunkers, where medicare and medicaid are almost broke, where they called a wine flu pandemic and don't have the vaccines to vaccinate and when they do, they are tainted. feel free to be the first in line to receive help from your leaders.
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
swine flu not wine flu, sorry about that. typing quickly to get this out before I move on with my evening. if this was about health ins. reform, then why not allow folks to buy insurance across state lines which would allow more competition and better prices??? there are other ways to fix a problem than your life. but if you are okay with having them access to your bank account, to tax you if your ins isn't to "govt standards" or throw you in jail if you refuse to buy.
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
there are other ways to fix the problem than allowing the govt to control every aspect of your life- is what i meant to type.
listen, go learn for yourself what they are proposing to do and not listen to the talking points which don't even make sense.
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
and of course this has everything to do with doctors and hospitals. in order to control costs they will limit care ( as England does) they are going to tax people for life saving devices-such as insulin pumps for diabetics, and other necessary medical devices needed to keep people alive. this keeps costs down??. please go research for yourself and don't take my word for it.
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
now I am finished. i need to carry on. this plan is going to cost the average American tremendously and limit care, treatments, tests, etc. to keep them alive. they already are trying to do this saying (against the cancer societies and doctor advise) to not get mammograms before the age of 50or not get cervical cancer screenings or prostate screenings till much later than what has been originally deemed necessary.
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
They already are implementing limited care. do you really not see it?? then i am truly sorry for you
good night
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
one more final thought. if you can't see how the govt is the greediest of all -just look at the bailouts of the banks? has it helped you? unemployment is still up to 10%. the govt is filled with corruption. the difference between private sector and govt is that if competition is allowed, then a person can choose a different company, service, etc.-the fear of loss of business will keep business in check. again if the govt stays out of it!
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
But, when it's the corrupt govt. in control, then what choice do we have? where else can we go? no where. we have no place to go. our freedom of choice is gone and we become enslaved by power-hungry politicians. if that is the hands you want to put your health care into, be my guest. But I will look at how other countries have failed-or look at Massachusetts and Oregon-both have single payer programs, both broke and failing and people are dying and being denied treatment .
brilliant plan
RestrainedNoMore 2 years ago
@RestrainedNoMore I hate to tell you this but we are in a deficit of 3 Million nurses and according to the ANA, will lose a million more within the next 10 years. If you look it up, you'll find that the system started by Medicare and Medicaid, and the ins. comp that follow like systems are the culprit. They decreased the pay and forced us to start Managed Health System and lose nurses. This put more pressure on existing nurses, thus, they quit.
Nurses provide healthcare, Doctors: medicine

then y do people in canada live 5 years longer then us and y is it that every other country pays a hell of a lot less then us i dont think single payer would be good for our country just incase a republican becomes president but the public option as in just an option that people pay into if they want to sounds good so that way its there for people who get layed off and cant afford health care on there own or if some1 has a pre existing condiction and the insurance companys dont want them and to

American health care ranks 19th out 19 industrialized nations.
murphyj87 1 year ago
@murphyj87 The biggest fallacy in debate is that the health insurance industry started all this... They are only abiding by the rules the federal government put in place. The average health insurance company only averages like a 4% profit for the year. How can an industry with a 4% profit margin be responsible for the dramatic increases in health cost?

A single payer system would work. A de-regulated free market would work ALSO. This "meeting in the middle" bullshit will NOT work.
If the majority doesn't want a single payer option, then we should de-regulate the health insurance industry as it is now and allow the free market to work. Let companies sprout and offer better services. If one company's service or product isn't up to par, they will suffer under a truly free market.
