Google now owns a manufacturer and is moving away from the ARM processor architecture to work with Intel. I seen amazing things in the future for Google only if they change Motorola's name, work on Motorola's customer service (phone updates) and rid themselves of motoblur. Google/Google Mobility branded phones tablets running ICS/Jellybean with Intel quad core CPU's.
@biggerben2010 You're so young, you still have the smell of breast milk in your mouth and you're using all those "mommie says no" words. Be careful if she sees this, Skooter, you'll end up in time-out with your computer privileges revoked! LOL!!
@biggerben2010 I knew it, what are you 10? 12? That's the age where you think few words mommie told you not to say makes you a real man. Go back to the playground, Skooter.
Hey! Google is buying Motorola Mobile! Great job... they're paying $12B for a company that is failing selling Android devices. Apparently Google believes it's own bullshit re: Google Math. Google Math is when Google sees 1000 smart phone makers selling 1 each Android phone ans a "win" over Apple selling 950 iPhones. Get it? A "win" touted by Google is not a win for vendors. And now they have to get their OS from a competitor? ROFL! Google = Evil. Believe it.
@TheJasperkitty It'd be crazy to shut out the others. Why alienate them and lose money? Why give power to WP7 and iPhone by delaying aOS software. They will release the updates to them as they always have. Individual manufactures are the ones who take forever with the updates as they put all their custom looks on to the aOS and then have to do rigorous testing for months to get the bugs out of their custom UI's as best they can.
@TheJasperkitty Google saved them all by buying this. (HTC, Motorola, Samsung etc) Microsoft was trying to buy Motorola for the patents & if Google didn't buy them, MSFT would've shut down Android. They'd squeeze Android & make it so expensive, manufactures would stop supporting it. Apple and MSFT have already worked together with the Nortel patents. They want to shut Android down completely. This is why Apple and MSFT are evil. They want us to have no choice but Apple and Windows.
@TheJasperkitty Also why support a company that spends HUGE resources making sure you can't customize your phone? They even tried to take down your jailbreak which is the only thing that makes it interesting in the 1st place. They release trivial updates yearly & add just enough features so that you HAVE to buy the next model to fully enjoy. They play games. It took them 3 yrs to add "official" wallpaper and video rec ability? Games. It's just app squares on a screen that scroll. Boring.
@TheFashizy You and many others don't get it. People have wanted computers since the beginning of the PC that just work, and don't require a lot of "customization". You cite the best example for how far off most "experts" are. You have the iPad that just works, and the "customizers" hate that! So they "break" the iPad so they can control the OS, open it up to more viruses, bad software, and most importantly, to perpetuate their own role of needed "customizer". Sorry your days are numbered..
@TheJasperkitty I'm not talking about teeny bop customization. What's wrong w/seeing my schedule or other useful info right on my screen, not having to go IN to my apps? Why can't I respond to a msg w/o having to close the app I may be currently in? What once was innovative is now stuck in a 4+ yr old time warp, & only wants to "advance" with slow timed, playing games, released updates. I've yet to get a virus after 2yrs btw. If Android is complicated then the world must be full of geniuses.
@TheFashizy You're you. If you spoke for everyone, we'd be in a love fest with PC Tablets. That just isn't the case. Stop and think about it....despite you and all the "in the know" computer people telling everyone differently, people are scooping up iPads as fast as they can make them. Ever consider you might be wrong?
@TheJasperkitty I like the iPad. I have both models. It's great around the house when I'm just tinkering around. It has more apps at the moment. I just don't like the iPhone. It's too small, and too limited. Running 2 businesses, I like info right now, and Android saves me lots of unnecessary steps. I'm not speaking for the world, but obviouly Android is growing much faster than iPhone, and Apple is doing everything they can to stop it, everything BUT advance the look of the phone.
@TheFashizy Funny then that the nail in the coffin for ANDROID tablets would come from HP's webOS device. The $99 price is wildly successful and everyone who wanted a non-Apple device is scooping them up. I believe this will kill the Android Tablet market, or force them to make the devices and sell them for $99. So here's the rip.... If you count the iPad, Apple is still kicking ass. If you use Google Math and only count phones, Android wins. But Apple still wins on profit.
@TheJasperkitty So the short sell of a no longer supported format tablet, will kill the Android tablets? It'd only force them to do that if they had a years supply of tablets that could last the $99 buying fest 24 hrs a day. If they have that much inventory, then maybe. BestBuy ordered about 250K of them or so and they were the largest buyers. What will eventually slow the sales of both ends is that as more and people buy them, they'll realize they don't NEED another one for a long while.
@TheFashizy I like my iPad because of the apps & since it's something I don't use heavily as my phone, it works just fine. If Android had all the apps that it has now for it's phones, I'd have bought a G-Tab over the iPad any day. But definitely smaller like 7". But at this point, I'll probably not buy any new tablet for yrs because I don't use it as much as I thought I would. It's mostly just a cool toy to take on planes & camping trips. At least for me. I just want a real choice in phones.
