  • THUNDER ROAD Remembering Tim Russert & hoping to continue #CPSIA amend fight w/ Tim-like enthusiasm! Tim, you are an inspiration.

    twitter/cpsia

  • Tim named his son after St Luke, "for much is given much is required" Tim was a strong Democrat, although a strong Catholic too..(one can be a Christian and be a Democrat, it' seems now a days that's so not believed). I believe in that too.

God bless Tim Russert, Luke and Maureen.

  • Well, I TRIED to add this to my favorites, but for some reason, it wouldn't post.

  • BTW... I cried THIS time, too.

  • I'm so glad that you posted this. I was touched the first time I saw it... and I'm pleased to be able to "favorite" it now.

  • "Father Is Like Jesus For Me" Nothing More To Say.

  • Wonderful video for an outstanding man, and a life well lived...

God Bless you Tim... may we meet one day, somewhere over the rainbow.

Thanks for taking the time to share your video.

  • Wow... that last 45 seconds or so is probably the best ending for anything I've ever seen.

  • I am still saddened by the death of Tim Russert. I watched his show sometimes and had read his book.I don't know why the tears still flow whenever I think of him. I think it must be because he loved his dad so much- helping his dad with all the trash, reminding us to bag our trash etc, never thinking about himself but always grateful he could help his dad.Maybe my tears is really for Big Russ.

  • Don't worry, you aren't the only one feeling this way. I had seen this video tribute on MTP the Sunday after Tim Russert died, and was choked up just now watching it again on youtube. Besides his professional accolades, Tim was a big teddy bear with a huge heart who never forgot where he came from. His passion for life, politics, sports and especially for his family were very inspirational. It is sad for Big Russ and for Tim's son Luke who lost his dad way too young. R.I.P. Tim Russert.

  • I would like to know the background on the connection with Bruce and Tim Russert. I know Bruce had been one of the only people to refuse to appear on meet the press, but there was some special connection there. Bye, the way, two idiots I blocked, such as onerpone need to clean up their acts before they chastise others. Sounds like someone I wouldn't allow in my house.

  • Russert promoted a Springsteen concert in 1974 while a student at John Carroll University in Cleveland. With his share of the proceeds, Russert played a pinochle game one night back home in Buffalo, winning enough money to put himself through his second year of law school. They reacquainted in recent years. The story I heard was Russert was actually shy in asking Bruce to appear on "Meet the Press" - amazing for a man who got the Pope to appear on the Today show as a young NBC exec in '85.

  • Thank you so much for the info. Makes my day to get an answer to something I had been mulling over...esp. the connection with "Thunder Road"...and his song for the memorial.

  • regaurdless of yr views, maybe u could have some respect

    how bout that

  • it's not some kind of a God status...

    it's just RESPECT.

  • And you will be remembered as an idiot with no funeral. So sad. You are so shallow to think people can't ache for disaster victims and still take time to mourn an individual passing. I feel for you, guy. Someone needs to. This for liftingoggers and his tunnel vision.

  • Very classy and moving.

  • May GOD bless and comfort the Russert family. May HIS Light shine on Tim's face for all eternity. As for onerpone, you should be ashamed, but I doubt that is an emotion you can muster. I am not surprised you are a Clinton socialist. Win at all cost, fuck everything and everyone else! Right? I will pray for you, as I'm sure many others will. May your eyes be opened to GOD's love and your heart opened to our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

  • You are just a troll, we understand. But just the fact that you took the time to post 8+ lines about how you hate Russert says enough. God bless, Tim Russert.

  • you need help dude your sick to say that

  • America lost a piece of fabric Friday. Kudos to Tim for making my Sundays

  • Wonderful tribue for a wonderful man.

    RIP Tim

  • This video was very good .Thanks for all the kind things you said. Tim was a good Man!

  • This was really nice - thank you so much for sharing. RIP Tim.

  • Balling.

  • I'm terribly afraid of not having him for the next few months to help make sense of this election and force the truth...

  • RIP Tim. I will sorely miss spending every Sunday morning with you.

  • your here 1 day - and the next, u are gone.

no one, and i say NO ONE can replace Tim.

    +2

  • Over the past 15 years, I saw more than 90 percent of Russert's "Meet the Press" programs. The kind words everyone has been offering, in this case, were true, at least from my vantage point in Los Angeles. I really appreciated seeing this video close the show. Great job. In a town where the producers & editors are usually dealing with shots of buildings and talking heads, I'm glad NBC found someone with a soul and a sense of timing to put it together. Very touching, indeed.

  • Tim Russert's books on fatherhood were beautiful. He was a very kind-hearted, passionate, & warm person.May he rest in peace. We will all miss him.Condolences to his family, friends & colleagues.

  • "Seems we just turn around, and they're gone"

He was a wonderful role model. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

  • Such an extreme loss to the world of journalism with Tim's sudden passing.

Many thanks to Tim Russert for bringing dignity back to politics.

Those shall be some mighty difficult shoes to fill for Meet The Press.

I shall miss my Sunday mornings with you Sir. God Bless and "Go Bills!"

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

  • I enjoyed watching "Meet the Press" every Sunday, but am even more amazed with Tim's pride and love he showed toward his dad and son. He is an incredible role model. While it is sad to hear of his passing, it does seem fitting it should happen over Father's Day weekend. RIP
