  • Mr Bluesummers! You are awesome!!!

  • helpfull video, thank you

  • thats just awesome. Thanks for sharing. I notice this is posted in 2008, makes it even more awesome :)

  • awesome.

  • how about creating a cylinder with 8 edges and then apply the twist modifier? I think its easier!

  • I like to watch these videos and see how long it takes me to figure out what he is trying to do and how. In this particular video, it was as soon as I realised that he's making a loft. After that, it was easy to foresee every new step. I dont see why the spline's end vertices werent set to smooth as the others, for the sake of ease and completeness, the effect is the same as long as there is no corner in that vertex.

  • damn. i knew there was a reason i subbed to you. you have never failed me. another great tut.

  • baah.....so easy...after watching this...was so difficult before this...:)

  • OMFG WORMS #OMG

  • thanks, my knowledge has grown:P

  • Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, Man yu rock!!!!, thanks for the tutorials :D!!!

  • Thx Mr. Blue Summer!

I was trying to modelise an electric wire and your technic is just perfect!

  • Neat way to build cables. This is definitely the best method I've found, great for designing the wire fencing on formula 1 circuits. thx

  • A very good tutorial. Thank you.

  • thank you a lot

  • Another slight variant would be to build circles of various sizes layed out close together or even touching, then attach them together into one spline object in an editable spline. This is your shape for the loft.

Then get THAT to loft along a twisting spline path.

This way, you can have cables of varying thickness (or even shapes, if you wanted) in the same cable.

This is a very cool method though, thanks for the upload!

  • Hey, cool method. I like it. Thanks for sharing!
