Brendon is my favorite singer EVER, but I don't think anything could beat the Counting Crows.

But that isn't the point of a cover. They are paying tribute to the artist that inspired their music. The intention wasn't to steal the song and make it better.

This is amazing. The performance especialy brendons voice is so powerful! He covers this song with such respect and thought :) he really gets into the mood and story of the song :) I didn't stop thinking about the story of the song for a sec. They can just easily grab and keep your attention

I've seen Counting Crows live - no one puts more emotion into this song than Adam Duritz, and I guaran-fucking-tee you the guys from Panic would say so. And no - no new parts, just the version Adam Duritz did in 1998 The Hammerstein Ballroom and on vh1 storytellers. I don't mind Panic, I love all the cool cover choices they make - The Weight is one they do well.

But better than Counting Crows? Not a fucking chance - see Duritz live and watch him bring the entire audience to the brink of tears.

The original of this song is my favorite. But, I think this is a very good cover. Brendon Urie has a way of portraying emotion through his voice that I do not see much of anymore. I do not understand how people can 'bash' a band like this. When they came out, they had a style of music that hasn't been seen for a long time. They have originality and loads of talent. I can't wait to see this band grow musically even more than they already have. <3

@slient and AF, it's called vibrato. from experience, i can tell you that it's pretty common for a non professionally trained (but talented) singer to have this happen when they hold a note. it's kind of obnoxious, and kind of endearing simultaneously. gives the singers voice character, makes it more recognizable, but is also mildly distracting. hope that helps.

I love the Counting Crows, and I love Panic At the Disco. I will not compare the two genius musical groups.

Brendon's voice is so STRONG, for lack of another word, because quite frankly, this utter passion escaping from his voice box goes so far to STUN me.

It's not the best of quality, but if Brendon cannot pull it off, I don't know who can. He sings with purpose and with care. This is truly the definition of beauty.

i extremely love adam duritz and counting crows and heard about this cover in one of his interviews. he was pretty cool with it so i thought id have a look at it. now i have nothing against panic at the disco i think theyre cool and it was good to try somethin new but i dont think this music suits them at all. its supposed to be a dramatic account of one of adam's past relationships...they shud try stick to there own stuff....but well done for giving it a go lads :)

i love panic... but idk i just really dont like this cover... it seems that the music drowns out brendon's voice too much... and its too fast... especially in the end it gets all frantic....it just doesnt seem strong enough... especially compared to the real version which is amazing...

however it is really nice of them to recognize counting crows because they really deserve more attention than they get
