  • It took a couple hundred years for this piece to finally be performed on bass, but I think we can all agree that it was well worth the wait. Bravo!

  • 20-30 years ago people would have laughed at the thought of this, its an amazing time to be a bass player, but it always is. The majority of people consider it a big violin and can't do much, well there is your answer people. Magnificent.

  • Incredible playing. There are so few bassist that would even attempt this piece let alone perform it flawlessly!

  • @einarsyes I mean scores

  • Beautiful

  • I like his hair

  • the best bass player in the planet!!!

  • @itoalexandre Have you heard Edgar Meyer yet?

  • @DerangedRanger1 LOL ! nice one

  • @DerangedRanger1 Good day, I have seen Meyer live and he is fantastic! However, I've been listening to Paradzik on his site and youtube for a while. I do believe Paradzik is easily comparable to Meyer. I Personally prefer Paradzik's playing of Meyer's. Also, have you seen Ibragimov perform Cello suite 3?? Just as impressive as Meyer's playing and as historically informed!

  • @CosmikDebris7 It's all a matter of subjective taste, no? I am just glad that bass has gotten to where it is today. It is a beautiful instrument with so much timbral possibility. I think that's why I like Meyer so much - that he explores timbre more than most. It is in part because he doesn't limit himself to the classical palette. As far as historical performance, I have mixed feelings how far that can go. (I have thought about it both as performer with masters and PhD candidate in musicology.)
