Thank you redcorvette you've been very kind. I just watched Justin mcpx vid, great! Thanks for pitch settings L have to try this. Anyone from area interested in funfly June 2012 visit helifreak social group "CEN-CAL Heli's"
(Not sure last comment posted)When will u and Justin be in or around California for an event? I've been watching Justin since I started flying a yr ago. Local club will b having funfly at very nice field and ur invited to join us.
@dutch349311 There are no immediate plans on attending west coast events at the moment. Since we fly for fun, typical travel distance is 200mile radius from NJ. But, sometimes we go to VA events. Every year, we do make it to IRCHA though.
Take another look, there's no mention of servos,motor,esc........ I am viewing from iPhone, maybe if I bring it up on laptop it will show electronics?
He should also fly 3D slaloms, & gracefully, & do infinity-symbols or 8 symbols, with grace & precision, or many other signs/symbols in a neat overall choreography (like along a 4-5 minutes tune). For FAIRS/EXPOs/GAME Competitions/..., he could spit out colored smokes to draw too B)
@sikewiley Unfortunately we can't run that high on the Beam. Last time I ran it above 3500, the whole tail blades shot out. We had two 5sec flights between two Beams at the IRCHA 2009. After upgrading the battery, the tail blades must have gone over the threshold of the limit. Since then, we are running only CF tail blades and I lowered the pinion to 11T. I have not check the head speed since. But my guess is about 3200.
@sikewiley Not the main blades. The plastic tail blades shot out twice at the IRCHA and another time at my home field. That was our only 3 crashes in 2 years with our Beams.
@sparkfirefilms I will do the mCPx video soon. The key is to reduce the pitch range to abotu 70% and not push both pitch and cyclic to full at the same time. With no mod, he can flips, rolls almost until the end of the battery. I assume you want see how the stock performs. We have fully stock but take off the vertical tail fin as that seem to help the tail hold better.

@dutch349311 With FBL, all helis became pretty much equal. :) We've had two Beams for over 3-4 years and they are running fine. :)

what headspeed does justin run on that? I found 3800 is good on mine.

@redcorvettez06 Is it because there is no spendle? Did you have to replace the whole head block?

@redcorvettez06 you should put an align tail case on it. If the booms are the same size.

Justin just keeps getting better and better! I'm tickled if I can just fly my 450 in a complete circle.
One question, RedCorvette, where are you buying parts for the Beam? I understand they are not sold in USA anymore.
piezoid 4 months ago
@piezoid I've heard that AmainHobbies all the Beam parts.
