@Stardweller1 Well, it has been my experience that the music I want to listen to directly correlates to how I am feeling at the time. This is also true with people I know. I see that as one of the coolest things about music. It is more than just sounds, it can influence and reflect one's feelings. Bach's "Air" is one peice of music which often reflects my "carefree, optimistic" moods, while Rage Against the Machine's "Bulls on Parade" is more something for when I'm angry.

@a55kiker Okay, I see what your getting at. And I agree that the music I listen to also correlates to my feelings, but it's a little different for me. A hard rock song is what I might listen to when I'm feeling passionate about something, but not necessarily (or even typically) when I'm angry.

And during this pleasant exchange of words I have noticed that I now agree with your original claim that the lyrics, not the style of music, is a more clear indicator of one's character. The emotion behind raw music is no indicator of the artist's message. But the lyrics do clearly show the artist's message. Very cool, thanks for your insight.

i'd have to disagree AOZXRAY, this shit speaks right to the heart. I'm 23 and there is nothing i can't do with my life. 1 problem, i'm sitting here in between comedy central, playstation and school watching my country tear its self fucking apart. People arguing over the dumbest shit. Even the ones in politics are all about left vs right. never for TRUE liberty, TRUE sovereignty there are a few of us however very pissed off and highly motivated to make the real change.

@Thunderwolf666 Inheritance? earned?.....there are no titles inherited here...wealth is another matter, and earned wealth can be inherited, but not power or titles-this is the differance....No matter how you slice it, royalty is a waste of tax money, and the royalty even no it, thats why they dont flaunt their money....they live in the fear of losing the rights and entitlements on a daily basis.

to each his own... everyone's allowed to have their opinions. if everyone liked the same thing we'd be pretty boring.

as for labeling us as "young," and having a horrible taste in music, this is just one song, and i happen to find it very inspiring. i listen to rap, rock, classical, old punk, blues, country, and just about anything else under the sun. so please don't stereotype me, or my taste in music. you don't know me.

@doomtints I don't know what kind of music you listen to and won't assume, but to call Rise Against horrible? Uninspired? You, old man must be hard of hearing and reading. Just look at these lyrics: "You can't disown us now, we are your own flesh and blood, and we don't disappear just because your eyes are shut" You hear, but you do not listen. You see, but you do not read, you hear them talk, but you do not hear what they say.

@doomtints heh, I'm an old bastard and I love Rise Against. What started as Hardcore Punk Rock has evolved into what can only be described as Aggressive Folk. The only other vaguely similar bands which compare are Bad Religion and Boysetsfire
